Tell your mom thank you so much for this song. Miss Thomas Whitfield too. He made some wonderful songs for the Lord. I live in Detroit. This was my song in 84 when i was a babe in Christ.
This is gospel to the core and sanctified church! Thomas Whitfield and his music made a powerful impact on Gospel music. Thank You Lord for blessing us through him! He will never be forgotten!
Wow, wow i love this song, and an old school praise break leading to the end. I might be young but i love old school church. This is what we need to go back to!
This is that Ole Sanctified groove, that would be lost in history if it wasn't for this recording. Recorded right in the COGIC. It is that old jazzy swinging ride, on top of the single quarter note bass patterns. Todays players groove is a is played on the 1 and 3 half note bass pattern. It loses that Ole Sanctified beat recorded in this Jewel. This is that Ole santified church right here......Praise Yh
For those that want the Lead lyrics: " When I was living deep in sin Far from the peaceful shore Livin' every day without a hope inside Jesus came knockin at my door Filled me with His heavenly power He saved my soul!"
Just sing the song Dorothy! This is my girl and yes she is killin it and of course The Whitfield Company are at their best. I pray that the choir sound will return and return soon.
I remember back in the 80's our church choir use to sing this song and the power of God would fall...Challenge of Faith COGIC led by Missionary Denise Mayo Wynn man those were the days...Pastored by R.L Jessie Sr..
I love this song, Lol we used to sang that song at Mason Memorial Temple Church of God in Christ back in the days, especially during the Holy Convocation, I miss those days
jgayle01---Thank u so MUCH!! HaLLE...HaLLE....Glory! For those who think it's unholy 2 have instruments in the House of the Lord-- Psalms 150:3-6. 3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. 4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. 5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. 6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord. That's a command anywhere.
DETSMOOVE well that's surely a blessing I like this song she sung good I'm not saying that beciase she's ur mom or just because I'm saying 8t because she is good

Maaaaan, gospel music of this caliber is now a lost art. How many gospel recordings now and days are still using the Hammond that you can actually hear or at all?
last sunday my pastor played a secular song IN service via the computer on loadspeakers. it was "I'm Coming Out" by diana ross (?) I think. anyway, whoever it was, I DID NOT AGREE WITH IT NOR DID I APPRECIATE IT. It's one thing to listen to certain music OUTSIDE the church but at least keep the church with it's historical dignity. spirits come with music (look up john todd's demons in the industry) and we MUST be aware and careful of this. bible tells us to sing a NEW song to God.
Dorothy Jenkins that's my mother everyone and she is still singing the praises of God

I met her today. She has such a beautiful voice. She sang at my wife's uncles funeral. I went up to her afterwards and complimented her on her voice.
