#endofvideosquad mary sue is an overused and over abused term that idiots who used the word don't remember and really forget what a mary sue truly is
Majin Bra is more like Anakin; having insane potential but a lot of personal issues that hold her back.
And Babidi getting her power out through turning her into the Majin state would technically be the same as Palpatine making Anakin a Sith Lord.
I’d say she comes close to being a Mary Sue, but manages to not be one because of a few key factors. Her power is explained from the very beginning: She’s Vegito’s daughter. Of course she has a lot of potential from that plus being a hybrid. As far as her journey has gone, she has struggled. She’s lacked discipline from the start, as seen in earlier chapters, and because of that flaw she is now under Babidi’s control. Bra may be powerful, but she is far from perfect.
EDIT: so yeah it seems like we think a lot the same on this. I didn’t really consider the fact that she’s inclined towards evil actions at first because in my opinion evil characters can be Mary Sues too, but you managed to convince me that it counts as a flaw in her case. Bra was raised to be a hero her whole life while struggling to repress her true nature is a valid character trait that weakens any argument for her being a Mary Sue. #EndofVideoSquad

She’s able to take one two Mystic Gohans, a Cell far stronger than the one we saw in canon, a set of Ultra Power armor ( can easily kill SSJ2 opponents or higher ), and various other fighters without any help other than stealing Senzu Beans from Piccolo ( who she killed btw ). She’s definitely giving off some Rey Palpatine vibes.

And she can still grow quickly to surpass even Vegito and Broly, but since I have the vibes that this aspect of hers is still good or at least "non-bad" writing, I staunchly think this is NOT a sign of MAry Sue-ness, if her power's not too, you know, "conveniently strong enough for all the challenges until the plot says otherwise", which is close to "conveniently strong enough for ANY challenges" that a Mary Sue is capable of
By the way, remember how Goku Black lost to SSB Blue ? It seems like the same thing here : Ginyu couldn't really deal with Vegito as well as Bra, since... that's not his original body, and he has even less experience and exposure to it than Zamasu

She’s a Mary Sue in the sense that her power is so great simply because Vegito was the one who busted a nut inside Bulma. She has the Son family’s potential mixed in with Vegetas. That is literally the only reason why Salagir has made her this strong. As for the normal Bra, she is incredibly weak. Like weaker than Yamcha (most likely). With that being said, even if she is the offspring of Vegito, I still don’t think her normal SSJ should be stronger or on par with Mystic Gohan. Don’t even get me started on her SSJ2 form. But hey it’s his story and honestly I’ll be reading regardless and know that one day she will die and Vegito will get mad.

I Mean yeah you can Definitely argue that bra has a an already dead piccolo that she can easily take a senzu bean from, to me that’s more of a convenient thing for the villan to keep the plot going, however she’s far from a mary sue, she’s not only beatin to a bloody pulp, but she’s also not the kind of character that would be considered a perfect individual, i mean just take a look at a lot of the early chapters, she not only has anger issues, she’s also very cocky, and sure as hell a very vulnerable target to a bunch villains who can do supernatural stuff.

Her genetics + training her entire life with a literal walking god plus majin boost (whatever relative bosst it might mean) and her desire to get stronger than anyone (gohan, annoying gotenks, and her father) is the source of all her power. Not point in getting into Vegetas royal bloodline and Son's huge potential unlocking bloodline.
She is as flawed as vegeta was in the sayan and namek saga plus she is young in her puberty, has something to prove, to affirm herself just like vegeta who is the dominant personality in the fusion because potara combines the strongest traits of the fusion participants.
She is not a Mary Sue, you are correct
People often question how Bra could possibly have the heart to do that to her half brother who often acted as a surrogate father when Vegetto failed to fufill this role. I can think of a reason where she would harbor resentment towards him and that would be Pan's demise. Or more accurately Gohan not making any effort to Avenge his own daughter. Cell deliberately threw a battered Bojack into their area where they don't have to worry about the administrators disqualifying them. Bra doesn't seem to understand the value of Forgiveness or perhaps she would consider eliminating threats to have more value as this would guarantee someone like Bojack could never do it again. Bra does have Bulma's traits as well.
Going by power alone, she is not a Mary Sue. 1) Vegito, the strongest character from Z, is her father. Thus, she would already be a prodigy toward fighting. 2) She is a half saiyan, so she has more potential for growth. 3) She has the privilege of being mentored by Vegito, who has the combined experience of Goku and Vegeta balancing each other out. She every possible advantage to make her this strong. 4) The Majin spell brings out latent power. Given the prior 3 points, she's already going to be exceptionally powerful.

Honestly, I think anyone who has been following this manga who'd call Bra a Mary Sue has a fundamental misunderstanding of what a Mary Sue is. A Mary Sue's perfection keeps them from being challenged by the Narrative physically, mentally, and emotionally. She is kinda like canon Broly, amazing power, but helpless when it comes to controlling it. She struggles with properly controlling her power and her impulsivity, she has shown to struggle in her fights and have regret of her actions. #endofvideosquad

Here's another example of how Saiyans can easily pick up things remember when Gohan was teaching Goten and Videl how to fly and Goton was able to learn it quickly in just one day. That's the saiyan biology going on right there.
I believe since we saw Beerus in past chapters that Goku from our main universe is gonna go super sayain God at some point to put an end to this madness.

By all means I never liked Bra. While someone could argue that she is a Mary Sue to a certain degree and others argue "Oh it's because she's Vegito's daughter" this that and the third, I'd like to say she isn't but there are many instances where it does seem like that. Even before she became a Majin, I always found Bra to be a rather annoying character. She kind of suffers from the same issues I had with Caulifla during Super but the only thing is Caulifla was overconfident but she had some charm and smarts about her. Bra comes off as a pretentious brat and that's mostly due to Vegito's parenting and how she was trained.
There was one instance where she threw a tantrum over her brother being stronger than her and honestly that was really petty. It's been hundreds of chapters in DBM and not once has Bra really gotten a taste of humble pie. Even when she disrespected her father's wishes to use a form she had no control over she ended up being the exact same person afterwards. I know the story is probably trying to put more focus on that idea and probably change her for the better for this Majin incident but with the way she fought and acted even before she became this arc's antagonist really made me dislike her.

Califla is a Mary sue, she was able to go both ss, 2, and ultra saiyan without no training. Frieza is a Gary sue seeing that he had 3mouths worth of training to match ssb. She is a fusion who has been trailing sense birth, her power is her own
judging by the animation loop of Bra going Majin SSJ, She's definitely the daughter of the prince of all saiyans...
Main Bra sort of picks up from where Demon Bulma left off except she's not quite as evil as Demon Bulma! I guess the Z fighters find a way to stop her from becoming all powerful because Bulma had a relapse in memory and showed Vegeta and the fighters how to slow her down enough to retrieve Bra from this evil majin energy!
