Former Beatclub employee here, I can CONFIRM months of payments being withheld, and always being promised “next week the moneys coming!” it’s been almost a year and I still get occasional calls from Gary Marella promising payment that never comes. Meanwhile they sign deals with Elon Musk on yachts. Late stage capitalism at its prime!!

The most ridiculous thing about this is, they most probably pay a person the money they owe you, to call you promising those payments that will never come.

Yup it took me my first official placement to know the other 98% of company’s hitting me up for money for a placement where all scammers.
As a millennial who grew up hearing his music saying he "was a big producer in the 2000s" casually is a huge understatement. The guy literally has over 100 tracks that charted billboard. He wasn't just big - he's one of the most prolific and successful producers of all time, literally.

tim wasn't hands-on with the gear and had another guy attached to him (especially in the earlier days) under the term "engineer".......that guy is the real star who made all the music!

When your favorite producers from the era of $100k+ per track (Timbaland, Scott Storch and etc) started finessing their way into collaborating with people like Murda Beatz - I knew they were down bad.... When AKAI ran the whole Exclusive 1 of 1 BeatClub MPC and then came out with it available to everyone - that was another sign... and so many blows that continue to come out or have came out
While watching this I just remembered the subpacs lol he was advertising them back when they first came out. I really wanted one till I seen the drama with infinity delayed orders. Love Tim but the non music businesses he ends up in tend to go sour, it's his management team maybe?
@@naldosrecords Maybe management... but a lot of his business decisions come off more out of desperation... they say when we're drawing from the well we never think that it'll run out... so I just don't think he ever thought the days of $500k for one his tracks would come to an end... like Scott Storch - he on instagram telling all producers and businesses to tap in with him - when you see that... them selling features... slots on a mixtape and etc - just know them pockets have gotten light

This is actually why I haven’t found a need to sub. I actually had before, and I suddenly saw less videos?? Now I catch weaver all the time 😂 TH-cam tricks creators into thinking they want subscribers to go up, but really having unsubbed people watching your content boosts it more (source: I made it up)

Timbaland gave me the Jamie Foxx "talk to the hand because the face don't understand" gesture when I tried to meet & get a photo op with him after a show. he walked by & said "ain't got time" smh. there was no crowd, I was the ONLY fan waiting for him. mind you i'm well over 6ft tall & over a foot taller than Timbaland, he actually had to raise his hand up to put his hand to my face & his now ex wife just walked past me like I was invisible. his DJ "Freestyle Steve" was a jerk to me also. I'm a producer/beatmaker & one of his A&R's required me to have a song charting on Billboard to get a look from Timbaland. its like if I got a song charting, then wtf I need you or Timbaland for lol smh

Glad I didn’t sign up for beat club. It felt snaky to me. The music business has changed and you can’t get 100k deals for songs anymore. Artists and record companies don’t want to pay the producers and craft some shady deals to steal music now. It’s best to just focus on independence and make music. Copywrite your material and keep it moving.
I tried watching those timbaland streams once and the vibe was so odd. Him burning sage and his assistant or whatever seemed stressed af. 😅
He was also wildly aggressive towards people who submitted tracks. Like way overboard in how he would react if he didn't immediately like a track.

There was a live stream of Timbaland ripping into his assistant. Felt bad for the guy getting talked down to and yelled at like he was about to get fired on the spot.
If he's treating his main man employee live for the world to see then how is he acting behind closed doors.

Im still shocked that Timbaland played a 25 year old sample and said "I never heard anything like that before, I got to use that" it was the female on the phone sample used by Dr Dre 2001 not sure how He nore any of his subscribers knew that. It was very odd and I was the only one who in the livestream chat who knew Dre used that sample decades ago, very odd.

@@potatosan4250 CLA Woo was a great channel for all music streams, he'd basically edit hours long twitch streams into 10 min videos for everyone to watch. Even got a shoutout from Kenny Beats. TImb and Beatclub got his channel wiped with copyright strikes and I think they asked him to do some work and they didn't pay him. Weaver has a video on it and there's some other channels that talked about it

Yeah I Felt like it was a cash grab and I even tried to use the feature where I can schedule one on one appointments and no one never called or anything . I think the only thing I really benefited from was the plug-ins and sound packs but still, I know all those beats I submitted weren’t trash and i submitted for like almost 2 years with only like 2 email replies.
Music is a Dirty business 😰.

Usually w stuff like this they get paid fairly at first and then the boss starts asking for a little bit of unpaid overtime, then a lot of unpaid overtime, and then ur checks start coming a week late, and then 2 weeks late, and then eventually they stop coming

@@PoboyMusic DJs will now be getting strikes and will be removed after three strikes. If you play a remix or edit that the algorithm doesn’t recognize it will flag your stream. You can only play from the approved catalog starting on August 8th

I don't remember how, but I got a free membership for a month or 3 and tried it. I sent in a track for feedback and got good feedback. I sent more tracks in for feedback and for placement and heard nothing back after that. I am pretty sure they used my stuff, too. If they actually helped, it would be good, but I think they wanted a shortcut and are bored/tired of making beats so they have us do it for them
I remember almost 20 years ago when he stole a beat from some unknown producer from Finland.

The “Beatclub” scandal (or scam) is old. This lawsuit is relatively new.
This plaintiff is silly for working this long without compensation. Hard to feel bad for him.
If his claimed function was so business critical, after a month of not being compensated, he could stop performing that function to force compensation.
