I mean I would say she is pretty big... She just doesn't do EVERYTHING like some actors/actresses do. I am sure if she wanted to she could be everywhere.
This movie was gorgeous. Loved the break from traditional cheesy rom-coms and how the viewer had to guess right along with the daughter. I thought "Emily"/Sarah was too obvious and that "Summer"/Natasha never seemed like she would be a long-lasting relationship. As soon as April was introduced and certainly as soon she said the film's title I thought "This is it, this is her. That's her mother, the one Will ends up with, and he goes to her after telling the story and they decide to call off the divorce and fall in love again and they're a happy family". Well it was certainly shocking then when it turned out that "Emily"/Sarah was actually the mother, that he ended up getting married to his college sweetheart, but in the end that the divorce was just a natural outcome of the fact that their relationship never could have worked, but that they come together through their shared love of their daughter. With April, I then expected to see that bittersweet note taken further, that some loves just don't ever have the right timing. Then the movie surprises me again and it turns out that April is the only name he didn't change, the only one he never truly got in a relationship with, the one with the most chemistry, the one he never forgot. And when she runs to him, the whole movie falls into place and closes with an inkling of hope and everything full circle, with old loves that were never meant to be, and some that were. Basically TLDR: this movie kept me guessing till the very end and made me cry
There are actually some wonderful subtler hints of where things will end up. My favorite is the use of the theme music. the "April" theme (perhaps first clearly heard in the "smoke-off" scene) suddenly starts playing during Will's practice proposal... to which April responds "Definitely. Maybe..." (another hint!) Less direct, when he is telling her of his plans to propose to Summer, along with her clear signals of her disappointment (she has been trying to hint to him that she figured out she was interested in HIM), we hear the "Jane Eyre" theme (which, interestingly, co-ordinates with or plays off of the April theme). And I'm not sure that there aren't other ways the Jane Eyre story is not intended to give us some hints...
It actually wasn't very difficult for me to Guess that she was the love or that she wouldn't be the one he married. The only part where I was a little confused was how he would end up with her anyway. I wasn't expecting it to end with his daughter insisting that he go after her.
I adore this movie and have watched it more times than I can count. Of course all of the adult actors are expert at this kind of film but Abigail Breslin is an absolute wonder. Her Maya is the glue that holds everything together.
I agree. I can barely tolerate Rom-Com’s , but this one I still enjoy even after watching it more than half a dozen times and it is mainly, because of the character Maya and who plays her AB.
The way it keeps you guessing until the very end. Not like other romcoms, where they're so predictable. I knew, Will and April were going to end up together! They have the best chemistry!
I loved this movie. Still do. The kiss at the end - by Ilsa (April) - was unscripted. From the directors mouth : 'Thank god for Isla.' The way she jumps into his arms. It says it all. Kudos to Maya (Abigail) for pointing out the obvious to her father. Ryan Renolds and Isla also have very good chemistry together.
I love how hopeful the ending is. Fingers crossed that Will and April will be able to make their relationship work this time round. Fortunately, Maya already seems to like her, and April seems like she'd be an excellent stepmother.
I appreciated how they didn't have Will go back to Emily/Sarah, and Maya learns that even though her parents love her, they don't want to be with each other. It's a refreshing message, sometimes divorce really is the best option for everyone involved.
I absolutely adore this movie! By far my most favorite Rom/Com, this one and Serendipity! This movie shows perfectly how love works! My wife always says it’s “ok” and doesn’t understand why I love this movie so much but I hope 🤞🏼 one day she will see it!
The most interesting romantic comedy that I have ever seen and so original 😍 It's never late for the true love and this little girl is so cute and mature, she understands that her dad loves April😍
Ryan Reynolds is a Type of Dude who makes you Laugh in a second And then Breaks Your Heart for weeks!!! Just watched the Movie (14/Dec/23) and The movie is Literally A masterpiece Roller coaster of Emotions. Elizabeth, and (april, natasha) they All were Wonderful, Ryan literally fell in Love with April Hoffman. She's the type of Girl which never breaks your heart. God She is Literally Like Will. The Ending melts My heart. You can clearly see How happy was Maya.
This movie was a really smart, witty and inciteful take on modern romantic relationships. The way it framed each personality stereotype into an actual person. And created this mutual lived experience was really refreshing and very entertaining. To show how good the various actresses were in this, including the daughter. I think if we were to rate the various performances, I would have to rate Ryan Reynolds as last and I love Ryan Reynolds. But these girls and women clearly loved this script and absolutely killed it ❤😂
I was very satisfied that Emily was the mother and Will ended up with April. Both Emily and April were worth it, but eventually I'd prefer him to end up with April.
“Tell her the story, the same way you told me. Then she’ll understand.”
Love that.
I don't get why Isla Fisher isn't a bigger star in Hollywood. She is great in everything I have seen her in.
I mean I would say she is pretty big... She just doesn't do EVERYTHING like some actors/actresses do. I am sure if she wanted to she could be everywhere.
not to mention a stone cold stunner
She is a big star. She's still big on Hollywood and appearing quite often.
@@zachmoyer1849 Definitely, No Maybes and in this movie in particular.
She's enjoying life, she doesn't need to be in every film.

They were friends, that's why. The biggest bond.

This and crazy stupid love are the only two movies I can watch no matter what!
@@cdiaz1521 This was great. Ryan Goslings' player in Crazy Stupid Love frustrated me, but Emma Stone is always good.
I always recommend this movie to my friends.
I still watch it from time to time even if I already know the ending..😅

I also loved this movie too always did always have always do always will forever and that is the truth
Bro Ryan Reynolds is good in everything like comedy action romance everything one of the best actors in our generation

Every time I see this ending I always cry with tears of joy 🥲
I wish my best friend read this
Well, she cheated before they were married, it was never going to work.
Divorce is never the best option.
@@jeffcanto not cheating is the best option... but once that happens then divorce is the only healthy option available
Yay! Will and April are now together!

My favorite RomCom movie ever 💯
Not much of a RomCom fan, but I loved this one the characters were great especially the daughter. Fell in love with Isla.
She is so beautiful
yes she is so beautiful
My favourite romcom of all time!
The most interesting romantic comedy that I have ever seen and so original 😍

I only just saw this movie for the first time at some point in the past year. Don't know how such a gem managed to slip right past me.
Ryan Reynolds...gorgeous wife at home, gorgeous work wives in every movie.

I liked this movie more than I care to admit - 40 something hopeless romantic

3:33 my future wife when I haven’t seen her and her kids in a long time.
30 count is our heart than keep on fooling ourselves that something is coming that change your life.. but that doesn't happen
My favourite romantic movie of all time just love this from ryan what an actor
I'm a sap and love this. Is this a new trope --- the best matchmaker is a determined little girl? Because if it is.... well, I'm very okay with it.
Love this movie
If you're too lazy to binge How I met your Mother, watch this instead.
This is basically How I met your Mother the movie.
And THAT is how I watched HIMYM
Loved this mystery romance! I did not guess April at the time.
I love this!
I'm still in love with Annie. Always have been.
Who
Without a doubt my favorite romantic comedy
I luv this movie. Its fresh and funny.
i also love this movie too and yes it is fresh and funny
The best romantic movie for me no matter what anyone says but ryan just killed it in this one along with others😊
Basically how i met your mother in movie form

Does anyone know where in NY this scene was filmed?
🎉Definitely🎉Definitely definitely
great movie1! id so love to snogg the actor that plays april
Me, too!
the sweet copy girl - actress is Isla Fisher
Great movie..
I knew it cuz she said once Definitely, may be when he practiced proposing to emily with april
SO Beautiful...Use your Free Will to LOVE!...it will help more than you know
Dang it, now I have to watch it again...
No one mentions that gasp?
I usually hate romcoms but this one was alright. Young versus old Ryan look like two different people lol.
What song is this
Starring Isla Fisher/Amy Adams. Can you tell them apart??? This woman is married to Sash Baron Cohen (Borat)...
Isla Fisher is the younger, hotter version but married to borat??
You can tell the difference between the two. The eyes say it
It’s easy. I find one of them attractive and one of them not.
Isla Fisher is not a twin to Amy Adams, what is this question anyway? They're distinctly different people.
@@JM-db8ez a LOT of people get them mixed up...
This is a wonderfully romantic scene, that's sure to give you misty eyes! (That's if you've watched the movie).

In reality, no woman will wait for a married man for that long. guys needs to make the right choice.
Classic !
one of my gulty pleasure movies
It’s just a smidge creepy that April kind of looks like Maya
Hey, that's my Mint Mobile guy!
Was. Found something cheaper.
Movie name?
Definately maybe
Love only happens in the movies
I wish i had a woman that would jump on me like that
Just watched i, thanks to this channel. Amazing movie. Can anyone recommend more like this ? Feel free to passby
if you didn't watch Music and Lyrics (2007 - Hugh Grant & Drew Barrymore) give it a try.
@@mbsantos77 thanks man
'Leap year'.. 'August Rush'...'While you were sleeping'
I got you (The vow. The choice. Sweet November. Before we go. Playing it cool).
About time
I kept the book….. because that is the only thing I have left of you ……….
they dont make good movies like this anymore
One Day kk
Ryan, tell Isla to get her mind out of your pants...or I'm telling Blake!
This was a wonderful movie ❤️
Isla is/was/still ... well, everyone knows.
Amy Adams?
No that's Isla Fisher!
Isla Fisher
In RL, chances are there's no happy ending for divorced men with kids. Unless you're filthy rich.
