It's so nice to see the '3 Musketeers' tackle this task. Just FYI, names of people from North East India, especially the hill tribals, are so tongue twisting that even me as a tribal myself, get pronunciations wrong at times. 😁

I am from northeast sikkim and in sikkim people names r easy to pronounce and not tongue twisting, why but I feel like sikkim is not a part of northeast, caz it's so far than other NE states, sikkim is not even near to other NE states

FYI : I'm from Tamil Nadu, which is in the southern part of India. Here some of us dont have surnames. Instead we take our Parents' First letter of their name as initials. For example, Lets say my Name is Harshan. My Dads Name starts with 'D' and My moms Name starts with 'S'. Then My name will be given in all the official records as "Harshan.D.S". Majority of them take only their fathers letter as initial. But nowadays i see some people taking even their mothers first letter as their initial. Most of the time We dont include Initials while calling someone.- Telling this because one of my foreign friends asked ,if we address people including their initials.
My dad's from Kerala so we do something similar, my dad's first name is my sister and mine's last name.

Here in Indonesia a lot of Indian names used, but with local version like
Aaditya > Aditya/Aditia/Adit
Aayu > Ayu
Kiran > Kirana
that's including K-Pop star Dita Karang (her actual name is Anak Agung *Ayu* Puspa *Aditya* Karang)
and so many more that I cannot remember
and many of Indonesians also used Western Names, Arab Names, Egyptian Names, or even name coming from new creation
I have an Indonesian friend when first she introduced herself with her name puspita i thought she is an Indian 😅

actually Indonesians are so difficult to identify by names, because we don't really have special names
we used names from many cultures outside Indonesia
We also spell Aaditya as Aditya too in India. Kirana has different meaning in India so we always use Kiran.. Kirana meaning here is like mom n pop store so it's not used as a name.

Indians put surnames at the last...that is the family name.
Ur individual name+ middle surname (in case if u have one...it can be either from maternal or paternal side)+ final surname of ur paternal family

It varies by state, my dude. South Indian names have surnames at the front. Some Northeast Indian names too have surnames at the front.

In India it varies from region to region wrt surname placement.For eg. In my family, surname is second( commonly Dads surname) But some others they start their name with the surname(commonly the Dads name).And there's a good proportion of each! so it's difficult to generalise the nomenclature for our country.

I agree... Esp in South India... U could even have the region where ur ancestors were from in ur name and it comes in the beginning, or ur father's name or ur surname preceding ur name. In North india the surnames follows ur name.

The names i thought would suit them was
Heejae - Harini (Angel), because she is just seems like one and the name fits with her personality. It's such a pretty name. Like usually girls who are named Harini have a unique personality, which is so eye catching and they shine in the crowd just like Heejae💕
Byeongeun - Siddharth (The one who is accomplished, prosperous and succesful), because usually boys with name Siddharth are the popular ones in school, college, workplace, society in general and Byeongeun seems like a chocolate boy😂😂 also because it can be shortened to "Sid" which sounds cool
Hoseung - Ayaan (God's gift), ohmygod! I can just imagine Hoseung's named as Ayaan!!😂They are usually the talkative ones, who are friends with literally everyone!!!! Like they are friends with the most introvereted person in the class and then also the principle of the school.

Just on the note I wanna elaborate that every indian name has a freakin meaning...specially hindu names. All the names u saw in the vid are attributed to hindu families.
Most of them are realated to hindu gods n goddesses. And as we have about a million deities in Hinduism n each one of them having many synonyms of their names...u can find a HUGE variety of nameology among hindus of india.

Vaishnavi is quite common name from north India, it is one of the names of Goddess. Heejae is so amazing!! She pronounced every name so correctly. Hoseung too pronounced every name accurately!! Byeongeun is so cute, he tried his best. My name is so unique and everyone pronounces it wrong in first go XD it means fame or famous

If u guys r curious abt indian names !! here u go... indian names differ from place to place and from religion to religion... north indians usually add their family name along with their name eg: if they belong to kapoor family their name will end with kapoor... like Ranbir Kapoor ... when u come to south india family names r used based on caste and religion... most of the people's name is like their first name then come's their dad's name (women- if married then husband's name) some south indians names r like Meenakshi Menon- where Meenakshi is the girl's name and menon is their caste..

These names are also common in south India too. Some names listed here are not that popular in North or south these are names they saw on the internet but rarely seen in real life.

Interesting video but I think there was some confusion here. Byeongeon asked if family names come last like in English. That is correct here. Tyagi is the family name/surname which is coming last. But yes, there are some communities (Tamil communities) wherein the surname/family name can come first too.
