Love Savannah! That was a crazy expensive meal though! I love country cooking, so my favorite places to eat in Savannah is Lady & Sons, and Mrs. Wilkes. Enjoy your visit, hope you are doing a trolley tour 😊
Happy thanksgiving guys. Must be a fairly new place. Never heard of it. So expensive!! Wow. Guess we won’t be eating there! Hope u explore river street! Love u guys
I made a reservation at Mesa de Notte for 7pm on a Saturday. We arrived a few minutes before 7, the restaurant was packed, all tables full except for one, which had a reserved sign, and two water glasses already filled. That’s how a reservation is supposed to work, not like the nonsense there.
Expensive WOW!! Spent a day and night there a couple years ago. It is a pricey town. Don’t think we will be back anytime soon. Hope you enjoyed your time there.
Thank you for doing a Thanksgiving video for all of your fans. I would just say first, Savannah is a pretty expensive city overall. Second, on holidays like Easter Thanksgiving Christmas. As you know, there is limited availability of restaurants that are open, price fixed dinners rarely work in your favor, but overall you still had a good experience. Happy Thanksgiving guys.
How expensive! When it comes to Thanksgiving, I would be happy going to one of the chains such as Cracker Barrel, Perkins, Denny’s where they have traditional Thanksgiving food. Savannah doesn’t have those without driving toward I-95 though.
More and more people go to restaurants on Thanksgiving and it's gotten too crowded. I think pre-ordering from a nice grocery store and just heating everything up is the way to go for people who don't want to cook. That's what I did yesterday. It came with sliced turkey breast (not the whole turkey, obviously).
I would never expect prompt service on a holiday. Management can be somewhat to blame, but so many times people are booked with the promise to work and don't show up. The mass of glasses at the bar tells you that straight away. You were very cordial to thank those that did work on Thanksgiving, kudos. Yes, you did deal with an extensive time period, but for anyone else who thinks you're going to just show up and sit down per your reservation, please think about the scenario's that can/do happen. Even on regular days I've waited for a reservation, ...then on a holiday I don't count on anything. I'm not being rude, I'm saying to be respective to the situation and be patient as Alex, Tember and Mom and Dad were. As they pointed out, places open for Thanksgiving were limited and employees don't always show up just because you want to eat. I actually feel sorry for such places that have good reps and the employees let them down. I'm glad the food they received was worthy of their praise. You can also ask if they are shorthanded and if you should anticipate a wait, so you know what to expect.
The food looked very gourmet and cost a gourmet price, but you should be able to eat a gourmet meal in a quiet, relaxing environment not something that feels like an overcrowded food hall.
@thealtemlife Sorry, I was answering someone else's question about where I ordered a pre-cooked Thanksgiving dinner and the comment ended up in the wrong place, LOL. It's a grocery store.
That kind of money the meals for everyone should be outstanding and the wait times to sit and then to receive your food was ridiculous. The menu had no turkey and it’s Thanksgiving 🤔

We will have to go back and try those places sometime! We did do a trolley tour and will share that experience sometime soon!
You two are truly blessed, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families
Thanks so much! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

I agree because turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans are such down home food it really doesn't need to be gourmet.

Where did you order from?

Yeah you are right there! That was the problem being downtown. We have done the one at Cracker Barrel and enjoyed it!
Whew! You could buy a ten pound bag of potatoes for $9.
Yeah what a rip-off!
Believe me many others were “Ripped Off” on Thanksgiving Day as well !
That’s an accurate statement lol!

Thanks for the comment and also for the understanding! Holidays are tough sometimes so it is always best practice to be understanding!
No turkey?
I can’t remember but I believe they didn’t offer it or something like that. It was a very unique experience to say the least!
The food looked very gourmet and cost a gourmet price, but you should be able to eat a gourmet meal in a quiet, relaxing environment not something that feels like an overcrowded food hall.
Agreed! It was very over crowded that’s for sure!
Stater Bros.
Is that a place to eat at?

The moral of the story is: Stay at home for Thanksgiving.
Haha true! Hard to do when you are on vacation lol

Agreed! It wasn’t a very good time. At least we were with family. It was pretty insane!
Chicken for Thanksgiving is unacceptable. Period. Especially at a “fine dining” restaurant.
Agreed! It was not what we thought, that’s for sure. Oh well!
FAIL
100 percent true! Big time fail lol
