I wore my flip flops, a white tank top, and my shortest shorts ( not quite hoochie daddy, but close) when it's this hot outside it's about survival not fashion

LOL! Cargo shorts and BBQ flip flops with a graphic T shirt have become cliche for American suburban "dad". I especially hate the cargo shorts that have those ridiculous drawstrings at the leg openings. Style OG flip flops are my jam, I live in a small beach town in Cali and pretty much wear flip flops 75 percent of the year. I make sure to accessorize properly and have many different pair.

As for shorts, I think it also depends on body types (fuller legs, muscular, skinny eyc..) that accommodates the best for the type of shorts (longer or shorter). Not all "Older" looks the same for every man. My age is older, but I cary it young still. So I dress accordingly within reason. Yes I'm a sandle guy w/o socks..and I'm a tank top guy cuz its my personality and its comfortable to me while still tasteful, plus its HOT where I live and I'm hot easy😅💯 However, I do truly appreciate your vid and YOUR style👍🏾
Salute, my Brother! Sandals and socks! I died laughing when you mentioned this because I STILL see brothers rocking that combination. When the weather gets hot, I pull out my linen sport coats with chinos or light colored shorts with pastel colored Polo t-shirts and I'm good to go. And you missed a no-no. No baseball cap on backwards with any outfit. Warm weather for me means Panama hat season!

Flip flops can work, IF YOU HAVE THE RIGHT PAIR. Where a lot of men (I made this mistake, too) go wrong is having flip flops that are multi-colored at the band and or at the sole. Solid color flip flops (no logos of any kind) and worn with well fitted clothing can work. Jeans in the summer can be worn, IF you find the right kind. Years ago, I owned a pair of jeans that were made of 100% linen (color- Sand). I wore them every day to the point where they got worn out. White jeans are another option. However, they are a hassle to keep clean. Anyhow, great video!
Linen or thin cotton cargos don’t look as bulky as the thicker versions of cargos which I think makes them more presentable and comfortable for the summer. In fact linen absolutely fantastic even past the knees with the right fit. So I definitely think the material or weight of the material needs to be factored in. Good content nevertheless. I like my shorts right at the knee. Not that I care or don’t care what anyone thinks but I have a few surgical scars on my knees. Others with scars like mine may not be so comfortable exposing them.

Also different if I’m engaging in an event or just going to the store. I’m not a girl and have to take 1-2 hours to take a 5-10 trip to the store. To me this is just a petty as as most females are. Always great advice Jeff, I only disagree with the tank tops, because when you work hard in the gym and the body is right. Nothing wrong with a nice solid fitting tank, linen pants or shorts and leather casual sneakers. Now if the body isn't right, keep those tanks neatly folded in your dresser drawer.

As I understand it, dark colors, especially black and navy attract bugs. The best colors for repelling bugs is light blue and especially white. So not only do light colors look great in the summer, they're also functional.

I wear waistcoats over tie-less shirts in summer with breathable trousers and loafers or driving shoes daily but for excursions I wear tank top(I have an athletic build), below the knee cargo shorts and strap sandles or whatever is required. For shades I have a Neo style pair that look great with my face shape and they look great whatever look I'm goung for. I agree wuth most point but shorts above the knee look like boxer shorts to me but the pockets are tacky for casual wear. I am refining my style so maybe next year I will probably change my adventurer outfits for something more consistent with my daily style

Good video Jeff! I must say disagree with you on the issue of shorts in the summer. As a big man, shorts and little below the knee look better and also tend to give the illusion of a height and slimmer appearance.
I like my shorts right at the knee. Too high and I feel like I'm back in the '70s and '80s with Dr. J and Magic Johnson playing basketball.. Too low, and I feel like a '90s mall rat or like I'm wearing capris. I prefer the cargos over the plain fronts because the cargos tend to be looser. The plain fronts are just too tight for my boys and thighs... and they tend to be too high or too short. They also limit my movement. When I wear shorts, I'm usually either running errands, doing chores or partaking in a functional activity, like hiking, BBQing, pool, beach, etc. So I want to be comfortable.

I appreciate this video. But the one complaint I have is that the heavy colognes were shown in full detail twice. But only two bottles of the lighter cologne were one time and rushed over. I would have liked to see a couple bottles so I could remember them. But good video regardless.
New subscriber. I agree with this list - it's perfect. Here in Czech Republic, it is known as a place where socks and sandals are worn. And yes, you see cute girls wearing them too ! Linen has been my big discovery in the past 2 years - great in the hot weather here. Here in Central Europe, it's very, very casual. But I follow the same rules as in the video, and have noticed that girls take more of an interest when you are well dressed, without being too flashy. And yes, as an air hostess that dated a friend of mine said, girls notice teeth and shoes.

I appreciate this video. But the one complaint I have is that the heavy colognes were shown in full detail twice. But only two bottles of the lighter cologne were one time and rushed over. I would have liked to see a couple bottles so I could remember them.

New subscriber. I agree with this list - it's perfect. Here in Czech Republic, it is known as a place where socks and sandals are worn. And yes, you see cute girls wearing them too ! Linen has been my big discovery in the past 2 years - great in the hot weather here. Here in Central Europe, it's very, very casual. But I follow the same rules as in the video, and have noticed that girls take more of an interest when you are well dressed, without being too flashy. And yes, as an air hostess that dated a friend of mine said, girls notice teeth and shoes.
My Mom always said women notice shoes, rings and wallets.
