In terms of combat he is on the same level as Eren was before he learned how to use hardening. But he can do way more stuff, like running through a wall and destroying the fort. He is also way more durable, and is basically impossible to kill. So I think he is very cool

Reiner always finds a way to overwhelm Eren no matter the odds, it's either he's trying hard enough or he just wants it to end. In the first fight.. Reiner was toying with Eren, instead of using combos he's just launching Eren meters away from him leaving him stunned and dazed. Despite losing his arm he was able to find a way to get through Eren by simply overpowering him with just strength alone. Even in s3 p2 he always finds a way to get inside Eren's attacks the same thing in s4 p2 despite having his face disfigured. I wouldn't say he's bad it's just that he's making his opponents give it their might even if he's facing a much more superior opponent. In s4 p2 I know we didn't see them fighting after when Eren shoulder rams Reiner through a building. I'd say they were giving it their all in their brawl until Eren finds a way in Reiner's onslaughts. In conclusion.. Reiner is technically a tank, he takes a lot of hits then shrugs it off like it's nothing. Plus his endurance and stamina makes him more superior in terms of long term combat.

Not really, Mikasa slit one of Reiner's calves putting him at a disadvantage. Eren said it himself that his strength is not enough because Reiner is slowly breaking free from his lock, Mikasa only slit his calves so Reiner couldn't get up. Reiner only needed Bert when he got immobilized because of his calves being sliced off.
The Armored Titan is not the strongest but the coolest in my opinion. From the very begining when everyone was losing it about the Colossal Titan, I was more worried about the Armored Titan. I used to be so menacing.

Reiner - Weakest of all warriors, but still a fighter. Marcel - Strongest & Smartest warrior, but died first. Annie - Stronger and better fighter than Reiner, but still took orders from Reiner. Bertholdt - Mastered his Titan ability on his first try, but weak-willed and still took orders from Reiner.
I like how the Armored Titan still bodies the Attack Titan despite its disadvantages in their fights. However, if Reiner had a stronger mental fortitude and kept his thoughts away from his past he would've been unstoppable. What's keeping him away from using his potential is his depression and past. His Soldier personality is what made him somewhat 'stronger' however it took a large toll on his sanity after when Marco died. As I noticed in Season 4, his thoughts are eating him alive until he was able to overcome them due to the incident in Liberio and also saving Gabi and Falco. His goal was to save the world and everyone else he cared about, that was his motivation to stop Eren from unlocking the founder to activate the rumbling. He did all what he can despite Eren being more dominant than him in their fight but still kept fighting head on. This is why I respect Reiner because no matter how overwhelming or tiring the situation is, he did everything he could to save the world.
That night in Liberio was the great turning point for him. He could come face to face with Eren and finally let go of the past and also find the new purpose of protecting Gabi and Falco with his life. This comment really made me think about his personality and I think he isn't as a bad match with the armored titan as I thought. He isn't the perfect user, but his greatest purpose is to protect. To be a shield. That's the duty of the armored titan and Reiner. It's actually beautiful in a way.

And also using the train as shield doesn't necessarily mean his armor is weaker since he was utilizing it to prevent himself from taking damage but ppl just don't get that
Yes. Also even if his armor gets destroyed or penetrated, he is still very hard to kill. Reiner has shown that many times. If someone says, the Armored titan is worse than the attack titan in every way, they couldn't be more wrong. It's physically stronger, heavier, more protected, and way more durable. It also looks very cool :D

But most of the times it was both. But the nice thing is the Armored titan can be used for so many things other than combat. Or marching through the battlefield, shielding others while getting closer to the enemy, or swinging a f*cking armored train with a single hand. Thats just a few things

Still I think it is pretty useful since the armor blocks a few hits on behalf of the titan's body. It's just that he used to be nearly invinicible, but now he is just sturdier than others.
He also became more pathetic. He always loses to Eren (mainly because of the plot) and everything just destroys him. Plus he became depressed, although for a reasonable explanation. And he became weaker in fighting prowess.

the armored titan has always been among my favorites because it's so badass. it'll charge through enemy fire, hell even if what the enemy's using hurts it significantly, like a force of nature. it's not just resistant to damage, it's resilient, it has endurance. dude would crawl with half his body missing if he needed to.

Thanks for making a compilation showing how awesome the armored Titan really. I really enjoyed watching it. I especially enjoyed reading your captions that point out many amazing of Reiner’s feats that I never considered. Like how on season 4 he get by many of the anti-Titan canons and he survives it completely finewith only a headache. Your captions at 5:48 made me laugh ^^. Recently I encounter an interesting post where this person pointed out the role of the Armored Titan isn’t to fight and defeat other titan users, it’s to hold out as long as possible until reinforcements appears. There is more to the post but I’ll probably make this comment too long. Anyways that post alone completely changes my perspective on the Armored Titan. It made me realize that Reiner did a pretty awesome job as the Armored Titan. It also made me think Porco would have been pretty terrible as the Armored Titan lol so I’m glad we got Reiner.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! It's true, this titan isn't optimised for hand to hand combat, which changes our perspective on Reiner. It's actually damn impressive how well he's done.
Reiner is very much the Jaime Lannister of anime. You target your hatred at him due to him being at odds with Eren and Co. He betrays them all and is brought to his lowest point where he just wants to die. Then slowly but surely he grows strong again and you understand the world from his point of view. Before you know it, he is your favourite character.
I still think to the day I watched the first episode, slowly gripping me with excitement and action, and then seeing the Armored titan for the first time. Charging into the city walls like it's nothing. Withstanding cannon fire like there it's a flock of flies to him. Have you seen a cannon fire before? Those things were built to destroy castles and the Armored titan tanked it and didnt even flinch at all. He is by far one of the most powerful titan shifters and at the hands of an experienced user is most likely far more dangerous than most other titans. Clearly being at least in the top 3 right after the Founding titan and the Attack titan. Also: The Armored titan can withstand a Colossal transformation point blank -> literally being able to withstand the force of a small atom bomb point blank.
It really highlights the detail that he was the last performer in his warrior cohort. He only got the armored because Marcel pulled some strings to protect his brother.
While not the weakest, I definitely see it as the one the aged the poorest. Its armor grew less advantageous as technology progressed and could be countered by other titans with hardening. Not only that but the warhammer titan seems to do a better job with armor, its throwing ability while cool is overshadowed by the beast, and the cart outclasses it in endurance. I feel like the increasing counter-ability ended up doing it in (that and eren learning how to fight properly). I also consider the navy barrage less effective on him than anti titan weapons as naval cannons used in such a manner are typically more explosive than armor piercing, if a train was able to catch him that off guard, I doubt a navy of anti titan specific ships would have suffered as much. As for counting Reiner's weakening psych, I don't think it impacted his fighting ability as much as people think, if it did, it would've gotten him killed as the battles increased in difficulty as the series progressed. Mans pulled through a lot of bullshit.
reiner actually carried zeke so hard at the battle in 7:46 and if he wasnt there, zeke was cooked and easily transferring that beast titan to someone. zeke almost died before like 5 minutes before the events of the rumbling and those weapons they were using against reiner were WAY stronger lmao
Lmao, People like to bash on the Armoured titan by judging a fish by its ability to climb a tree. It is not effective in 1v1 duels like Attack/Female titans. It's designed to take hell from enemy artillery, take down forts, walls, seize territory, cover allies and escort them. Put Eren in his place, he would have died multiple times in those scenarios. Different titan different uses. *"Take Attack titan if u want to win battles, take the Armoured if u want to win wars"* Also, love the Armoured. It's design is awesome
Then we get part 2 of the final chapters and we see Reiner absolutely hard carrying the entire raid against Eren, he went against an army of warhammer titans which is his worst matchup, was holding back that worm thing while being heavily damaged, right after that he tanked a colossal titan nuke and walked it off, then proceeds to hold back that worm AGAIN post nuke and while being held down by an army of mindless titans.
Reiner was never a viable candidate for Armored Titan. In fact, in scenes from Reiner's childhood, it was proven that he was the Armored Titan with the favoritism of Reiner's friends. No matter what anyone says, the Armored Titan was more powerful than all the titans except Warhammer, Colossal, and the Founding Titan. He threw the titans without any difficulty, just as the Beast Titan threw rocks. How many titans have this kind of power? But Reiner was the worst user a titan could have. He wasn't smart and he wasn't a good fighter. He was very at odds with his past and could not get rid of his depression. He lost almost every fight he entered. It may sound interesting, but if Reiner's cousin Gabi owned the Armored Titan, she would probably be an unstoppable titan. Gabi is extremely ambitious, intelligent and a good fighter. She's very similar to Eren's childhood. It has always saddened me that such a powerful titan could be defeated so easily.
Reiner was extremely good with the Armored Titan in the final fight, but he normally lacked the mindset to wield it properly. He's an amazing character with his struggles, but because of his inner conflict, he wasn't a good fit. I believe the mindset of the user has a huge influence on how well he can use the titan. Reiner became very good in the end, because he was finally fighting for what he valued.
Why are you talking about Reiner when he was at his worst mentally? Everything that he did in the final fight blows everything he did in the past away. he proved worthy to wield the armored because in the final battle he was 100% physically and mentally where losing was not an option, where he would die before he would be defeated and was truly a force to be reckoned with.
When Reiner breached the Wall, he was breathing fire/hot steam. I think it means that Armored overheats because his armor can’t conduct heat. That means that probably Berthold and Eren will get burns.
It demolished the enemy too. You can't just say Eren was dominating the whole battle. The Armored titan never had a fair fight. It was always outmatched.
It's hard to say which one is better, each user has a different titan. Just take the Jaw titan for example. It went from being barely better than a mindless titan, to being one of the best. But yes, with the current users, if Reiner was on Eren's level, the armored titan could be better.
No, reiner is a more experienced Fighter, its just that the attack has insane speed, regeneration and the ability to see the future. Overall the armored Titan is a slow, strong but less powerfull than the attacks fast, just as strong hardening and insane regeneration, put two equaly good Titan shifters one against another and the attack wins everytime, when both know what they are doing. (The time communication and manipulation abbilities of the attack also help)
Just noticed an animation error at 1:09, Mikasa chops off Reiners right arm, Then for the next two parts hes in he has his right arm,(where hes knocked to the floor and tackles mikasa) then as he transforms hes missing it again
Idk why the fans and the show itself think Reiner is weak. A lot of his L’s are because Eren’s body guard is a fucking Ackerman. Plus the armored titan is arguably the second worst titan power. By the end of the show pretty much every other shifter has a way of penetrating his armor, making the whole point of the power pointless. The odds are almost always stacked against him.
This titan was in base form from the beginning. The fact that he can endure many attacks and sent Eren flying with one punch is why the creator had to buffed the main character. AoT mainly focuses on the story. The power scaling is just bad.
To be fair the whole thing with bert landing on eren and reiner and reiner somehkw coming out UNSCATHED despite being on top during the collision was comllete bs. The impact shouldve obliterated everyone.

Nothing against WIT's design but imo MAPPA's Armored Titan looks cool since I noticed that his hair got abit long in the Final Season because it makes him a handsome titan, no homo XD lol.
He wasn't acting by choice. He was forced to kill his own people by his enemies. He hated it, but didn't want his family to die. He loved being a scout in Paradis and having to betray his friends crippled him mentally.
That's a very generic assumption. Each train is different, for example the ammunition itself surely weighs tons in itself. Not to mention it's most definitely steam driven, so it has to carry water and coal, both of which are extremely heavy.

Spoiler I love going back and watching from the beginning with the knowledge of knowing the whole story now. How desperate all the “bad guys” were to stop eren. Us as watchers were made to feel resentment against the bad guys but they were trying to save the world and just about failed, truly a remarkable show.
You have got it wrong, Marley wanted paradise resources, the rumbling was never going to happen if paradise was left Alone, the only reason it happened is because Marley decided to start killing paradisians. This whole show is Marley not being able to take the heat yet trying to enter the kitchen.
The weakest of the nine is easily either the Warhammer or the Jaw Titan. The Warhammer has terrible stamina and can only make up for it by separating their normal body from their Titan body. As we see in the show, all it takes is to rip the wire on its foot and the Warhammer is dunzo. Meanwhile, the Jaw may be fast, but its speed and agility are simply not enough to make up for its size deficit. The cart can transform dozens more times than the Jaw can, and every other one of the 9 is strong enough to manhandle the Jaw (unless you’re Falco who isn’t a regular jaw Titan anyway due to consuming Zeke’s blood). Also, let’s not forget that Eren has always been a mix of the Attack Titan and the Founder. Since he and Reiner fight several times throughout the show, it’s easy to forget that Eren is a better fighter than Reiner. The Attack Titan, however, is NOT a better Titan than the Armored. It’s only through rapid regeneration and sheer willpower that Eren defeats Reiner with ease. Reiner arguably takes more hits than anyone in the entire series and still lives to tell every one of those tales.

I never heard about this "Reiner is weak" mantality. He is not a God in hand to hand like Annie, or extremely smart like Erwin, but he is an absolute UNIT. An amazingly written, strong mf.

Some ppl say Reiner's armor is shown to be weaker than the metal used for the Armored trains in S4 episode 1 but tanking a navy just shows how strong his armor is. He did take massive damage during the incident, but Zeke was untouched meaning that the Armor never fully penetrated the Armored titan. And also using the train as shield doesn't necessarily mean his armor is weaker since he was utilizing it to prevent himself from taking damage but ppl just don't get that
Yes. Also even if his armor gets destroyed or penetrated, he is still very hard to kill. Reiner has shown that many times. If someone says, the Armored titan is worse than the attack titan in every way, they couldn't be more wrong. It's physically stronger, heavier, more protected, and way more durable. It also looks very cool :D

But most of the times it was both. But the nice thing is the Armored titan can be used for so many things other than combat. For example I can't imagine the attack titan effortlessly running through the biggest wall humanity has ever built. Or marching through the battlefield, shielding others while getting closer to the enemy, or swinging a f*cking armored train with a single hand. Thats just a few things

I don't think it's possible for a typical user to just ragdoll the Armored titan with hardened fists since Eren seems to be a very accomplished fighter in S4 and most ppl would be inferior to him in combat

my favourite titan, i just love the swole armoured design, too bad he kinda sucks later on since so much can break his armor.
Still I think it is pretty useful since the armor blocks a few hits on behalf of the titan's body. It's just that he used to be nearly invinicible, but now he is just sturdier than others.

He also became more pathetic. He always loses to Eren (mainly because of the plot) and everything just destroys him. Plus he became depressed, although for a reasonable explanation. And he became weaker in fighting prowess.

the armored titan has always been among my favorites because it's so badass. it'll charge through enemy fire, hell even if what the enemy's using hurts it significantly, like a force of nature. it's not just resistant to damage, it's resilient, it has endurance. dude would crawl with half his body missing if he needed to.

Recently I encounter an interesting post where this person pointed out the role of the Armored Titan isn’t to fight and defeat other titan users, it’s to hold out as long as possible until reinforcements appears. There is more to the post but I’ll probably make this comment too long. Anyways that post alone completely changes my perspective on the Armored Titan. It made me realize that Reiner did a pretty awesome job as the Armored Titan. It also made me think Porco would have been pretty terrible as the Armored Titan lol so I’m glad we got Reiner.

It's true, this titan isn't optimised for hand to hand combat, which changes our perspective on Reiner. It's actually damn impressive how well he's done.
Reiner is very much the Jaime Lannister of anime. You target your hatred at him due to him being at odds with Eren and Co. He betrays them all and is brought to his lowest point where he just wants to die. Then slowly but surely he grows strong again and you understand the world from his point of view. Before you know it, he is your favourite character.

Have you seen a cannon fire before? Those things were built to destroy castles and the Armored titan tanked it and didnt even flinch at all.
He is by far one of the most powerful titan shifters and at the hands of an experienced user is most likely far more dangerous than most other titans.

Also: The Armored titan can withstand a Colossal transformation point blank -> literally being able to withstand the force of a small atom bomb point blank.

While not the weakest, I definitely see it as the one the aged the poorest. Its armor grew less advantageous as technology progressed and could be countered by other titans with hardening. Not only that but the warhammer titan seems to do a better job with armor, its throwing ability while cool is overshadowed by the beast, and the cart outclasses it in endurance. I feel like the increasing counter-ability ended up doing it in (that and eren learning how to fight properly). I also consider the navy barrage less effective on him than anti titan weapons as naval cannons used in such a manner are typically more explosive than armor piercing, if a train was able to catch him that off guard, I doubt a navy of anti titan specific ships would have suffered as much.
As for counting Reiner's weakening psych, I don't think it impacted his fighting ability as much as people think, if it did, it would've gotten him killed as the battles increased in difficulty as the series progressed. Mans pulled through a lot of bullshit.

Lmao, People like to bash on the Armoured titan by judging a fish by its ability to climb a tree. It is not effective in 1v1 duels like Attack/Female titans. It's designed to take hell from enemy artillery, take down forts, walls, seize territory, cover allies and escort them. Put Eren in his place, he would have died multiple times in those scenarios. Different titan different uses.

Reiner was never a viable candidate for Armored Titan. In fact, in scenes from Reiner's childhood, it was proven that he was the Armored Titan with the favoritism of Reiner's friends. No matter what anyone says, the Armored Titan was more powerful than all the titans except Warhammer, Colossal, and the Founding Titan. He threw the titans without any difficulty, just as the Beast Titan threw rocks. How many titans have this kind of power? But Reiner was the worst user a titan could have. He wasn't smart and he wasn't a good fighter. He was very at odds with his past and could not get rid of his depression. He lost almost every fight he entered. It may sound interesting, but if Reiner's cousin Gabi owned the Armored Titan, she would probably be an unstoppable titan. Gabi is extremely ambitious, intelligent and a good fighter. She's very similar to Eren's childhood. It has always saddened me that such a powerful titan could be defeated so easily.
Reiner was extremely good with the Armored Titan in the final fight, but he normally lacked the mindset to wield it properly. He's an amazing character with his struggles, but because of his inner conflict, he wasn't a good fit. I believe the mindset of the user has a huge influence on how well he can use the titan. Reiner became very good in the end, because he was finally fighting for what he valued.
Why are you talking about Reiner when he was at his worst mentally? Everything that he did in the final fight blows everything he did in the past away. he proved worthy to wield the armored because in the final battle he was 100% physically and mentally where losing was not an option, where he would die before he would be defeated and was truly a force to be reckoned with.

To sum it upp, the armored titan itself is better than the attack titan. It's just that Eren is a better fighter and titan shifter than Reiner.
It's hard to say which one is better, each user has a different titan. Just take the Jaw titan for example. It went from being barely better than a mindless titan, to being one of the best.
But yes, with the current users, if Reiner was on Eren's level, the armored titan could be better.
If Reiner had a stronger mental fortitude he would have bodied Eren in their fights.

No, reiner is a more experienced Fighter, its just that the attack has insane speed, regeneration and the ability to see the future. Overall the armored Titan is a slow, strong but less powerfull than the attacks fast, just as strong hardening and insane regeneration, put two equaly good Titan shifters one against another and the attack wins everytime, when both know what they are doing. (The time communication and manipulation abbilities of the attack also help)

Yes it's a well known error, but has been fixed in later releases of the episode.
Idk why the fans and the show itself think Reiner is weak. A lot of his L’s are because Eren’s body guard is a fucking Ackerman. Plus the armored titan is arguably the second worst titan power. By the end of the show pretty much every other shifter has a way of penetrating his armor, making the whole point of the power pointless. The odds are almost always stacked against him.
This titan was in base form from the beginning. The fact that he can endure many attacks and sent Eren flying with one punch is why the creator had to buffed the main character. AoT mainly focuses on the story. The power scaling is just bad.

That's a very generic assumption. Each train is different, for example the ammunition itself surely weighs tons in itself. Not to mention it's most definitely steam driven, so it has to carry water and coal, both of which are extremely heavy.

I love going back and watching from the beginning with the knowledge of knowing the whole story now. How desperate all the “bad guys” were to stop eren. Us as watchers were made to feel resentment against the bad guys but they were trying to save the world and just about failed, truly a remarkable show.
You have got it wrong, Marley wanted paradise resources, the rumbling was never going to happen if paradise was left Alone, the only reason it happened is because Marley decided to start killing paradisians. This whole show is Marley not being able to take the heat yet trying to enter the kitchen.

The weakest of the nine is easily either the Warhammer or the Jaw Titan. The Warhammer has terrible stamina and can only make up for it by separating their normal body from their Titan body. As we see in the show, all it takes is to rip the wire on its foot and the Warhammer is dunzo. Meanwhile, the Jaw may be fast, but its speed and agility are simply not enough to make up for its size deficit. The cart can transform dozens more times than the Jaw can, and every other one of the 9 is strong enough to manhandle the Jaw (unless you’re Falco who isn’t a regular jaw Titan anyway due to consuming Zeke’s blood). Also, let’s not forget that Eren has always been a mix of the Attack Titan and the Founder. Since he and Reiner fight several times throughout the show, it’s easy to forget that Eren is a better fighter than Reiner. The Attack Titan, however, is NOT a better Titan than the Armored. It’s only through rapid regeneration and sheer willpower that Eren defeats Reiner with ease. Reiner arguably takes more hits than anyone in the entire series and still lives to tell every one of those tales.
