My Hubs loves and adore me. He hates cheaters and men who doesn’t set boundaries with the opposite gender. (He lost some friends along the way. Because, they were cheaters.) My FNL will be the first to kick Hubs butt, if he cheated. FNL loves my MNL, and taught his sons to be faithful, loving, supportive, and respectful.
Most of my Brothers are that way too. The one brother that is a cheater and divorced my Nyab. No one talks to him. But we talk to our Nyab and invite her to all the family events. (Setting standards, ethics and morals starts with your family. Break this cycle and teach the younger generations.)

For men, it's mostly the desire of the ego. That word is so slippery that I like to think of that "o" as a very degenerative "g" and call it "egg". Yes, it is still fragile, precious, and very valuable. But It is a better word, and when you feel it coming, really choo and care for that "egg". Why do Hmong people believe they are entitled to insurance money? It’s only the owner and one who pays and it’s an intimate, personal thing not public. No one should know but you and him and kids. It’s for times as this - not to make money but to go on in life as hard as it already is.

People are so damned jealous and hateful. From my past experience, I know how expensive funerals are and how petty people can get about money when there’s a death in the family. Therefore, it’s important for me to have life insurance on the family members I know I’ll be responsible for burying. I even encourage others to buy life insurance but people are too narrow minded to see its importance. But then they expect me to take the brunt of the responsibility.
Some of us pay for life insurance, pay the majority of the funeral cost, do all the planning and prepping for the funeral and it’s STILL not enough! No appreciation, no RESPECT. Just hate, jealousy, unfair expectations, finger pointing. I’ve learned my lesson and will NEVER be so generous with my time, energy or money again!

But his nkauj mos ab still got his 401k. I don't know about your ex-husband's 401k but at his age, his 401k is probably close to half a million dollars.
