The way the trash can lid closes is so slow that it's like it's sad and saying "oh you've finished using me? that's fine..." and then it opens quickly and now it's happy.
I really liked that first20 top 10 video, and now knowing how much work went into it, props to Stephen. After some of the projects i've had in school, i definitely get how hard it is to make reading from a script sound natural.
Thank you again for all you do! You may not know it, but you and Mal are inspirations to so many people around the world! Keep it up👍🏼
Yay
Stephen is better?
I also have no idea how the us healthcare works, but it looks complicated
Yeah, it kinda sucks.
It doesn't work. Unless you wanna go bankrupt for having cancer
My sister has graves disease. She's thousands of dollars in medical debt from emergency room visits, not to mention the fines from not having health insurance. She made to much on paper to qualify for Obama care, but not enough money to be able to afford health intranets. Things are better now, but it's something no one should have to go through.
Donnie Zoller i'm reallt sorry for what your sister had to pass through, and i'm glad things are going better

Oh, it's fine. I'm glad things are going better too.
The first 20 came out very well and your hard work really showed
It's always interesting to see someone getting into their first venture into fully-scripted content. I actually went the opposite way. I started out making countdowns, and only later did I become primarily a let's player. You, Stephen, are one of many creators I've seen do the exact opposite, and it's always amusing to hear about what it's like to make that transition. For me, that kind of scriptwriting you described comes very naturally. I guess I just have a natural talent for writing in that way. And you're right. You really do have to strike a very precise balance between sounding natural and sounding scripted when you actually do the voiceover. Too much in either direction just sounds either misguided or too formal to be entertaining. It's certainly an art in and of itself. And honestly, that First20 countdown was PHENOMENAL if you ask me, especially for a first time doing something like that. It's a very challenging type of video to make, and if that was only your first, I can't wait to see what else you can do with that type of content. ^_^
HAH literally right before you mentioned Thomas I was thinking to myself, "Thomas would probably be a natural at those types of scripted videos. He can read anything and it sounds real." xD That's my impression from the D&D videos at least. Like, even something written in fancy old English that you would never hear someone say, he makes it sound real.
You did an amazing job on the First 20 countdown! It sounded very natural even though it was scripted. I hope it becomes an annual tradition.
I used to work at a pharmacy and I dealt with soooooo many people who would forget their information. Only they would start yelling at me about it. And more often then not, they'd be yelling in the drive-thru. In the driver's seat. Yelling for everyone to hear that they're driving without a license. BELIEVE ME, you were fine!
Considering you got a haircut, this vlog was "top of your head" content too :)

My dad had the same thing you had on your wrist but it was on his hand and his doctor told him just to whack it with a book spine!
My sister’s just had her fourth removal of a ganglion cyst on her wrist in the last ten years. My father (both my parents are ER nurses) removed it for her the first two times with a needle. He didn’t numb it or anything, just sucked it out on the dining room table with a high gage needle. It looked like a little squishy sack thing. Also, the “hitting them with a book” thing is actually a “medical” method of dealing with them.
There were a couple times when I was back in college where I would forget my wallet and would realize in the middle of the commute.
Having a cyst in your wrist actually seems pretty benign compared to what I had to deal with, Stephen. To explain, I once had to have a cyst surgically removed from the upper gums of my mouth several years ago. The only reason it was discovered was because my dentist at the time took some x-rays of my mouth following a routine cleaning and saw that something was up, but he didn't know what it was. He just assumed I needed a root canal, so he sent me to a specialist of sorts who does that kinda thing. After thoroughly examining my mouth, the specialist was pretty skeptical that I needed a root canal so he decided to take his own x-rays.
Thank God he did, because that's how he discovered the cyst that was residing in the upper part of my mouth. So he put me on antibiotics, and said to come back after a week and that we'd have the cyst surgically removed. One week later, I came in. He numbed the upper part of my mouth, cut open the part of my gums where the cyst was and removed it. After that, he cleaned out the area where the cyst was, put in some special cement to keep the cyst from recurring, and then stitched me back up.
After everything was done, he told me something which I'll never forget: He said that I was lucky that we found the cyst when we did, because my immune system had been working extra overtime to keep the infection the cyst was causing in check. He even said If my immune system hadn't been as strong as it was, there was a pretty strong chance that aforementioned infection could've spread from my gums to my brain and it could've killed me without warning. It certainly gave me a new appreciation of my life and not to take it for granted, that's for sure. Plus, it gave me a pretty good explanation for my sleeping at the time, because I'd go to bed and sleep for 8 hours like I usually do. However, instead of waking up feeling refreshed, I woke up feeling like I had hardly slept at all. I sure slept soundly the night following the cyst's removal, let me tell you.
I feel bad that you had that cyst on your hand. I had one on my back awhile ago and I didn’t know what it was. I thought it was a pimple but when it started to hurt when I laid down on my back, I knew this was not a pimple. Eventually I went to my doctor and I told her about it. After trying to get the swelling down by using heat, which didn’t work well, I had to get it cut open and drained. I was laying down on the table for two hours while it was drained. Of course they numbed the area so I didn’t feel anything, but I didn’t enjoy it very much either. I’m glad it’s over now.
That cyst is definitely gonna come back
I remember when I had a wort removed on my finger they used this thing to freeze it off and I watched the whole time.
Hold the camera there Stephen 04:37 where did you get that poster, it´s awesome

Good job on your top 10 video Stephen. It sounded like a process when you made that video. Maybe next time to help you out so it doesn't sound mechanical or scripted, instead of writing everything you say you can write the main ideas so that you know what you are going to say, but can also add your own flair to it. Try it out if you want, it could not hurt. Anyway, good job in all of your content and I can not wait to see the rest if the 2018 videos
I do a lot of scripted content. It gets easier to make it sound more natural as you go on.
I'm upset that Stephen didn’t ask if anyone in the audience was a cop. Missed opportunity.
Is there a chance the cyst could come back (refill with "fluid") since you didn't have it removed?
Hey Stephen do you have a list of GameCube games you're missing so we can hopefully mail you some of the games if we as the stephenites community can't help finish it up no one can
Kitty caaaatttssss s’cute
Try to have kids early in the year. Deductible met, boom! We had to cram a bunch of "luxury" medical stuff into one month because our kid was born late in the year. Also, with your hair so bushy you look like the kid from The Wonder Years.
Was it a deductible thing or was it that your "out of pocket maximum" had been met for the year?
So Stephen, morbid medical curiosity, but was getting the cyst drained just literally them sticking a needle in it and pulling the fluid out? Did they give you a topical lidocaine or something like that? I feel like that would feel super strange...
Yep, they sprayed something on to numb it, poked it a bunch with a normal-sized needle (same entry point, just mostly wiggled it around), then went in with the higher gauge needle to pull out the fluid. "Fluid" is really a misnomer, as it was extremely thick, more like the consistency of jelly.
StephenVlog that is equal parts disgusting and fascinating. Thanks!
Didn’t you post on Twitter that it just came back not long after you got it removed?
Sounds like a ganglion cyst.
Ra'Mah Plays Thought the same.
Why are the vlogs so far behind, date wise
Stephen you are very handsome.
What vlog day is this? Why did you stop counting? Lol
Should be day 2589.
No, 2589 was December 26, 2016. I believe this is Day 2955, meaning that the February 10, 2018 vlog will be Day 3000.
I know he addressed this a while ago, but I don't know where. He stopped numbering for two reasons.
1. High numbers like that tend to scare off newer viewers who don't realize they don't need to watch every episode to understand what's going on.
2. The numbers don't actually matter. When the vlog started the numbers were a kind of milestone, "yay 100 vlogs, 200, 500" etc. but after this many years it doesn't have that effect anymore. There's no benefit to keep the numbers instead of just having dates and yearly milestones instead.
I do wish he'd include the numbers in the description at least. Sometimes I get curious.
Say what you're writing outloud as you go.
What's a deductible?
In the U.S. most health care plans require the patient to pay a certain amount of money before the insurance begins paying for healthcare expenses. Basically, the insurance won't pay until the patient spends some money first.
the something happens to me i for got my ID
