Here's how to play Space Oddity by David Bowie on acoustic guitar.
This song uses open chords, but also many barre chords. However, Bowie in the music video for this song doesn't use barre chords, but rather uses the technique of having the thumb over the top of the neck. Therefore, I chose to teach this song as faithful as possible to how David play it in the music video, which you can find further down this page.

Good video. But one tip for you: At around 3:50 in the official video at „floating round my tin can“ you can see that he moves the Fmaj7/C chord (033210) two frets up which gives 055430 or EDGBDE which is just an Em7. Interesting way to play the Em7. Did not find this in any chord library but it works and it’s easy to grip. You can use it also in the intro.
