- In this video I'm giving you a house tour of my new village home that I'm renting in the village in Sichuan, China - It's so beautiful and this is where I'll be making Chinese food recipe videos for you from! After many days of searching, I finally found the place! This will be the perfect place to make Chinese recipes in country life vlog style! I hope you're as excited for this series as I am! I think it's smart to be sharing a village home with other folks living there so you can learn directly from them and their way of life. They seem nice and happy to have you and Ting staying. I noticed that your motivation for food ranging was waning over the past 12 months and I'm glad you found something that motivates you to keep making videos. I'll stay tuned for more.

When you get up and running, it will be kool to see where you buy your ingredients from locally, how much they cost, etc. Maybe even where they are grown, if the local farmers let you on their land.

Well, there is the Taiwan issue. Backing of North Korea. Good neighbors they are not. Spy balloons. I know government bad, people good. Let's not overlook how dangerous they are to the world. It is not just the West that think this way.
I'll admit I have a distaste for the current Chinese government, but no more than I have for many governments in the world, even my own upon occasion. I have no idea why anybody would have a problem with Chinese people or Chinese culture.

I am really looking forward to you sharing this new adventure with us. It’s great seeing the joy it’s bringing you and the very fact that you’ve chosen to take us on this journey with you is just amazing. I went to culinary school at 28 yrs old …got my associates and then decided to continue my education hands on. There is nothing that can even compare to just getting out there and doing what you love. I learned a lot in the classroom and kitchen labs, but I’ve learned an entire lifetime of information actually cooking for people and my loved ones. I had hands on experience from 13-28 and decided to get some classical training at 28, but getting back in the kitchen is where I found my true joy.
Watching you live out your dream is like being able to experience it all over again for myself. So, thank you and I wish you all of the luck and happiness.

I am so glad you are coming back I can't stand it. This change of format is going to be great and I'll bet the channel will grow by leaps and bounds. I love Mark and Sonny and I watch them religiously but they are starting to find it more and more difficult to new places to shoot. @@Bobwa2008 I hate that stuff. It causes a lot of problems, especially in some people, like me for instance. I wish they'd outlaw it. It's not traditional at all. It was invented in Japan a century ago and became omnipresent about 50 years ago. It's addictive too. That's why u get people so fiecely defending it. Some places have outlawed it already. Pakistan I believe, or parts of Pakistan.

You just took a step back in time and saw how food was cooked in the past. Not a lot of people get to experience and smell, taste how food is prepared in olden time.
There is a difference in taste and quality when cooking with fire wood stove and a wok that have been seasoned for a long time. Enjoy it

I’ve been subbed for probably as long as you have had the channel and this is by far one of the best videos you have made. I was subbed to a traditional Mexican ranch TH-camr that filmed an old lady cooking in her outdoor barn/ kitchen and this video is just so amazing I’ve never seen one like this! I can feel you excitement and passion and it’s really bringing the video to a whole new level. Not that you weren’t passionate before.

(I originally copy/pasted directly), but if I make it lowercase it says 'hen xiang da!" (很想打!) == "I really want to fight!" lol. It suggests for 'very aromatic!' == "Hěn xiāng!" (很香!) but gives me something entirely different if I don't add the ! at the end : "Fēicháng fāngxiāng" (非常芳香). Yikes, sometimes it's so hard to translate. Thanks!

I was born and raised in Sichuan and came to Canada for a different life. Now I'm watching this Canadian guy who went back to my hometown cooking Sichuan food LOL !! What a twist!
This is so wonderful to me. Wood fired wok mesmerizing. Everything in the video captured my imagination. Loved the way everyone just sorta dived into the food unselfconsciously. Great!
