- My 2,074th kite video. Deltas are among the simplest and most popular kites, and come in many forms. Here are a few from the many that I have.
Anyone wanting to check out all my "How to..." videos on various aspects of kite-flying can now find them all easily on my Playlist at / jimskitesnz .
Hello Jim, I agree the Black and White Delta from Wolkenstürmer is lovely. I have one, too, and I'm always surprised at how light it feels.
I'm dreaming of making a black, white and red hypno twister and fly it with that as a tail...😊
I think that will look good, Monika, and I look forward to seeing your video of it sometime. Wolkenstürmer products are very good, and the delta is great.
Beautiful, handsome, colorful, angular kites - a wonderful display! Thank you!!!
I'm happy to know that you enjoyed it, Mary.
Nice video Jim. All beautiful kites. You can't go wrong with a Delta kite. Thanks Jim!
You're right, Dewey, deltas are excellent kites to have.
That's a beautiful collection of kites. The owl is very nice. Thanks for showing this video.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
A Nice colorful display Jim..thnak you for sharing another fine video..have a great day.
You're welcome, Craig!
All Delta kite lovers will enjoy this video. A great mix. I should check our curtains and see if I could make a kite from them.
You'd better ask Sarah first, Carl!
A great delta show. You take more fuzzy tail. Nice sharing
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I use fuzzy tails a lot, especially when the wind is not steady or a kite is not behaving as well as it should.
Deltas on display. They look good as a group in the sky.
Deltas are certainly among the easiest kites to assemble and fly, and there are so many choices that there is something to suit everyone, I'd guess.
Thanks you for another great video! Flo-tail Deltas are my favorite.
Glad you like them, Lisa! I'll be flying some more soon if the weather cooperates.
Great looking delta's Jim. Thanks. Ron
Deltas are always good, Ron, as you know, and I'll show some more soon.
This was a nice surprise. Deltas with tails are my favorites. Good job.👏🐐👏
Glad you liked it, Randy. I'll show more deltas soon.
The kite with the spinning windsock tail looks very comfortable
Yes, it flies very well, Jiang.
Wow 😲 thumb up 👍😊 this is too beautiful 😍❤️ thanks for sharing with us 💖😊🌹🤗💐3:03
Thanks for visiting!
Long time viewer, first time commenter - just wanted to say keep up the great work Jim! I love to watch your videos to wind down at the end of the day, nothing relaxes like the vision of a kite in the sky. I'm a collector and flyer too, mostly dual line but the single-line collection is growing, as they tend to do 😆 Cheers for now, Angus in Australia
It's great to hear from you, Angus. I'm glad you enjoy the videos, and do let me know if you're heading across the Tasman to Christchurch anytime.
Absolutely@@JimNicholls - would love to come and fly kites with you someday!
Great Delta display Jim...they are such a dependable flyer..I got one recently made by SkyDog...love to see it fly
Skydog make good quality products, Cynti, so I think you made a good choice there. Have fun!
great video never disappoints.i love it so much
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very nice!
I'm happy that you enjoyed it, Evan.
Six Good Delta Kites Flying Sir 🙏🏼
Thank you for watching, Vikram.
Deltas. Always good, and that was an excellent display. Cheers Jim.
PS. You use 'fuzzy tails' a lot. A short, informative video on how you produce yours (during your winter 'non flying' periods) would be very much appreciated by all us fliers. Thanks
Fuzzy tails certainly make a great difference to a kite's stability. Most of mine have been bought, but I have made a few recently, although it's not something I'll probably do again. If I do consider it in the coming months, I'll try to make a video showing my way of making them.
I've debated about getting the Prism Zenith 7....guess the debate is over time to pull the trigger. Thanks Jim!
It's quite a well-made kite, Armando, but not my favourite by any means. If you buy it, do so because you like the look of it, as it's not outstanding as a kite otherwise. I do fly it fairly often, though, and don't regret getting it (almost any kite is good to have!) You have probably seen my videos of this kite, but if not, here's one: th-cam.com/video/NrzDts1AYXI/w-d-xo.html .
@@JimNicholls Jim which delta is your favorite?
That's a hard question to answer. Some of my favourites are no longer available or are very expensive. In the same price range as the Zenith 7, I actually prefer the7ft Levitation Delta. It's also available in a "patriotic" design, which I once owned (but didn't buy). I gave it away to an American family, but it was a very attractive kite and flew very well. See: www.pictureprettykites.com/single-line-kites/7-ft-usa-levitation-delta-kite/ .
@@JimNicholls Thanks Jim. I tried to fly today but wind gusts were over 30mph.
Jim, I'd like to know what test line you fly them at when you are giving your descriptions !
Thanks for sharing.
I always have a lot of lines in my car, and just use what seems appropriate to the wind at the time for each kite. I very rarely use more than 300lb (I've sold most of my bigger-pulling kites like the Mega Fish and Power Sled 81 as I'm getting too old to handle such things in a strong wind). I don't make a note of which lines I use, so when I come to edit the video maybe several days later I can't remember what lines I've used. So I have never included such details, and probably won't start now - sorry!
Most of them, i have too.
I'm sure you have a lot of fun flying them, too.
