I know this vid is from years back now but my goodness........how refreshing to hear the top dog talk about and emphasize the customer as their primary goal vs. the typical "corporate speak" nonsense that permeates most industries today. Katilla Air must be privately held and not public.......please stay that way otherwise the corporate raiders will swoop in and make you live only for the results of the next fiscal quarter. That you keep 100% of your maintenance in-house, that you keep 100% of your training in-house is to be saluted and appreciated. Best of luck to you all!
To me he is and always will be "The Bounty Hunter" I grew up at the drag strip starting in the 60's and still today and Connie has always been there, even after his first born was killed racing a Funny Car, now his nephew Doug Kalitta has been driving the Top Fuel dragster.
I have met the bounty hunter at Sonoma and Pomona several times. Never too busy to shake a hand or pose for a photo. All around tough guy but the heart of a lion. Reall glad to see Scott's name on the side of that 747.
Impressive and successful business. I had no idea about this air-freight carrier until today when I saw one of the 747. I new it had to be Connie Kalitta's business, because of the logo's letter styling, just like on the dragsters.
Well I had to read all the comments after watching the video. Working for Connie isn't for weak sisters. If glamorous airline life is your desire you should go elsewhere. I figure most of the negative comments are from people that wanted to get hired and didn't or were employed by CKS and fired. I flew for Connie for 21 years, 727, DC-8's and 747's. I have places stamped in my passport that many people couldn't find on a globe. I would still be out there flying but the FAA says I'm too dam old. It was a great ride.
I miss working in Oscoda at Kalitta Air. Very nice area in Oscoda and I miss working with some of the avionics people. Please get your people some training on the B777 before you get them, that is a different animal.
Hmm, interesting. Looks similar, but not the same as the Company overview that Kalitta, themselves dropped 5 months ago. DIfferent screen ratio, some different people and minro alterations to the intro. I am guessing this is Kalitta's old company overview video?
The producer of the video has the original in his YT channel, he's left a message further down if you want watch it the way it was intended to be viewed.
People talk a lot of shit. In the 80’s I worked at LAX for Ontario aircraft services, we did the ground service for connies plains. Funny but i don’t remember seeing leaks. It seamed like a pretty good company & connie & Scott were both very friendly.
Yeah, judging from the video this company is not so great for customers. I bet their service heavy ass expensive and the commodities they carry must have like ten-fold margins like cocaine or heroine or some shit like that.
I've been working at LAX for over Seventeen years now as a supervisor I drive by Connie Kalitta 747 almost everyday those planes are in such bad shape as far as maintenance and leaking fluids under the belly out of all the carriers there his are the worst he does not maintain his aircraft

LMAO!! So then why not say something, under federal whistleblower laws you'll get the lions share of any fines and civil suit award money. I would say it's because you're full of shit though. But that's just 27 years of A&P and flight Eng. experience, so what do I know?
You are not wrong worked there two years if you kiss ass you get promoted if you lie you get promoted if you cover your fuck up you get promoted they write up for stuff that happen out of work put Thier friends in jobs they know nothing about go against FAA regulations it's all a show they make it sound great but it's just a shit show with a rich owner
@@billjackson4030 try working at an outstation other than Oscoda. Oscoda is the cesspool. CVG is actually pretty awesome and everybody is like family. Russ Kimball does a great job in managing his outstations.
worst boss i ever worked for..his personality sucks..when he fired me for touching one of his dogs, he had 2 guys push my toolbox out to the road..real asshole

I was born and raised in Michigan and am so proud of Connie and kalitta air!

Connie is the Real deal. A man of his word. Something that is very rare and fleeing in this say and age!!!!!!! Rest in Peace Scott Kalitta!!

Pete Sanderlin is so serious and focused. Definitely a Company man. He works hard to make sure Kalitta thrives
Great job- Connie , we need more of your thinking!! Bravo !
They seem like a strong and proud American company.
Never knew they were this big of an airline, only remember seeing a Lear of theirs bringing home our fallen from Dover twice.
I never knew about Kalitta Air, I'm impressed! Kudos to all.
That's how it works. Know your skills, know your goals, repect your staff and clients.
I use to work for kalitta and it was great. Connie kalitta is a legend
Living legend

Bet Connie loves the motorcycle sound effects in the intro😉
Wow! Engine test cell and simulators. Amazing.
Conrad.....You're The Man.!

@Malcolm Denver I would suggest Flixzone. You can find it by googling =)
@Malcolm Denver try Flixzone. Just search on google for it :)
Amen.
We will love you forever and your fleet. Please save more planes if you can.
Kinda cool to see. I'm out here at there Oscoda facility paving a section. Thanks hot me looking into them
I jus always see Beau Bridges in the Movie Heart Like A wheel as Connie Kalitta ..lol
Hmm, interesting. Looks similar, but not the same as the Company overview that Kalitta, themselves dropped 5 months ago. DIfferent screen ratio, some different people and minro alterations to the intro. I am guessing this is Kalitta's old company overview video?
I'm pretty sure they donate their time flight Crews fuel and planes whenever there's a natural disaster or humanitarian efforts to be taken care of
The Kalitta Jumbos coming to LEJ every day...i love the planes.
They are going to be able to snap up low cycle 747-400 that reliability rate will only get better. They were operating the old 200’s
They'll probably nose a few in they have a reputation for that also
The producer of the video has the original in his YT channel, he's left a message further down if you want watch it the way it was intended to be viewed.
I just applied, see how it goes
Hope ya know someone there. Im 747,757,767 and they never even answered my app. I know a mechanic there, he said if ya not in the club forget it.
Last 747 classic flight for Kalitta is in a week :(
Once there was American International Airline for a while.
One day I bought a 747 and then another and it become a company.
Her didn't buy a 747 first he had beech 18s before that.
Hey guys -- if your maintenance is so good, why do your engines fall off? Just sayin'
Certainly not the safest cargo hauler. Lots of incidents.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Amazing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,nice to be a billionare...........huh................
i know that guy
747 are being taken out to the desert, to old of plane's when there are newer better planes
Then why did a 74 loose an engine out over Lake Michigan as it claimed past 16,000ft msl if the got the Diamond Award from the Feds?
Mark Oneill
Mark was high school friend he captain for kalitta
Them dragster sounded like motorcycles ... Good job editing the sound ... You should be fired ...
Kalitta Air ceased on 28 september 2018
Are you high? We just bought our first 777 and Kalitta is thriving and growing like never before.
People talk a lot of shit. In the 80’s I worked at LAX for Ontario aircraft services, we did the ground service for connies plains. Funny but i don’t remember seeing leaks. It seamed like a pretty good company & connie & Scott were both very friendly.
That is intact a lie. I work at CVG for Kalitta air right now.
Yeah, judging from the video this company is not so great for customers. I bet their service heavy ass expensive and the commodities they carry must have like ten-fold margins like cocaine or heroine or some shit like that.
He will leave you fired and stranded around the world , with no way home, if you don't fix his planes his way.
Dieseltu then follow directions so you won’t get fired dumbass
Duh I would too lmao duh got to follow the AMM and FAA standards

I can’t support someone from Detroit who accepts sponsorship from toyota!
