Unwinding and rolling it up is one way, but kook for a tensioner on either side of the blind. It will have a plus or minus on it.

when I remove the blind, the spring tension inside the blind unravels, so this process is not helping me - it is continually loose since it unravels when removed.

Our blinds wouldn't stay down, and this was the ONLY helpful thing I could find online. As the video suggested, I removed a blind, unrolled it 18", then re-installed it-and it now stayed down very easily. The only problem is, it won't roll up again, but stops 18" from the top! We've compromised and rolled our blinds down by hand 10", which still works, but does the same thing (10" remain). Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this, and if it can be fixed?

I have mine installed but they will not release easily. It too hard to get them to release. When they do release after 5-10 tries they surprise you and they can rip out out of your hands and go up so fast you cannot control them.

There may be a slot on either side of the roller that looks like it fits a screwdriver, especially if you have a cassette. This can help loosen/tighten the tension. Try taking the roller out, unraveling the material and reinstalling. See if that allows you to trigger the spring mechanism. If you're still having trouble, please contact us at 888-257-1840 to get assistance from a customer service rep. If your shades are still under warranty, we can most likely replace them for you at no cost. Thanks!
