In the old GTA 3 I would use the cinematic view during cop chases and if the cop stays close to you from behind the camera will actually switch to the cop's point of view chasing you. It was mainly good for 2 star wanted chases because they're not really aggressive but they don't go away.
When things become invisible it tries to load the high detail model which doesn't exist. When the backside is invisible it's called backface culling and is common in video games.
It's amazing, the attention to detail, they put into the originals, compared to the remakes. It's actually sad to think how Rockstar Games allowed this to get released, in such a buggy state. I still haven't purchased the "definitive" collection, & I'm not so sure if I will anymore. It's taken, almost 2 years, to get all the bugs out, & they still haven't fixed everything. 🤦🏽♂

That's why I prefer the modded original PC versions, you can even make San Andreas the PS2 port it always should have been. Low draw distance and fog made the original versions so big with great atmosphere: Liberty City was a kind of tiny Gotham City, Vice City a Miami Vice episode, and San Andreas countryside a prelude to RDR Undead Nightmare.
This is all stuff fixed within the first few months though, these games still have so many issues in Rockstar hasn't given a patch to them in nearly a year! In fact the patch mentioned in the video description is from a year ago lol - Rockstar doesn't care about completely fixing this game
They should really add a function so that you can switch between the atmospheric Ps2/xbox/PC/and remaster versions. Ps2 really were the best in that aspect, despite having the lowest quality.
There are a couple of reasons why this game isn't up to the players standards with the level of quality we need. 1, the definitive edition was not developed by rockstar games. It was made by Grove Street games, a mobile games company they just switched ports and did some little tweaks to the game but other things must have been removed or something I don't know? 2, the pandemic must have something to do with how we work in the same area limiting production on games now. Example is cyberpunk when it got released.
I think what I despised about the Definitive edition the most were how they messed up characters and the protagonists. The Vanilla games didn't have that detailed version but still the Tommy and CJ looked sharp and had an appearance of their own. Tommy just looks completely different and they went full on black with CJ
Would anybody happen to know if they fixed the bird sound affects at the docks in GTA 3? The original had seagull sound affects when near the docks making it feel more realistic, but the definitive got rid of that.

My only complaint in this remaster is for them to bring back the original mini games of dancing, lifting weights, and lowrider competition. They replaced it with those not satisfying mini games 😞 The good thing is they brought back the cinematic camera, and button mashing when pedaling a bike or BMX..
The team of them should split in three groups. 1 group for GTA III 2nd group for GTA Vice City And the 3rd group for GTA San Andreas. So atleast they won't tired fixing everything in one instead fix it one by one by exploring the original version (both console and PC) of the game to find out what to fix and what's wrong. Also hope they keep continue improving this game in all consoles. Especially the lower one (switch) which needs a better frame rates.
Sorry to change subject but some people complain about numerous anachronisms in Definitive Edition games, like GPS in GTA VC (set in 1986) and GTA SA (set in 1992). Maybe these anachronisms were supposed to suggest that Definitive Edition games take place in alternate reality?

In GTA SA, hands have a fixed animation, so that all guns using both hands are correctly held, so camera also got same treatment, if it was a unique weapon type then different animation would have been used and then it could have been fixed, but lazies are lazies, nothing they did to fix now, bot I am not complaining, I still stand by the fact that they used the dam'ed mobile port fot it, so it remains defective edition, it shall never be definitive at all, hope the 30 year anniversary will be good even if I have no expectation to get one either, if I can than I myself am making it as I like, but not gonna publish it

I have the originals and definitive on steam. I prefer the DEFINITIVE. Exactly the same game just better to look at and MUCH better camera/gameplay controls, making a HUGE difference.

Rockstar should've never let Grove Street Games touch these classics. Rackstar should've just made it themselves or let modders who can do a better job at making these games help out! Then we wouldn't have all the problems on release day!
I rather play normal for gta san Andreas but they did gta 3 alright kinda by making the atmosphere a little more foggier and the render distance looks fine cause most of the big buildins you see are just across a bridge but in gta sa u can see mount chilliad from grove st like come on they also did the vice city version pretty well too the skies colors with the orange lioks fantastic alsot eh lights are amazing they did mess tommys face a lil and hes does look a bit fatter but its fine

I have played the Xbox 360 backwards compatible San Andreas on Xbox one and it has so many bugs glitches crashes. Now I said screw it and got a PS2 off eBay and am currently playing San Andreas OG and I'll never wanna go back..... Or forward

This game has received more patches than a mobile game
Well the mobile version of GTA SA is much better patches and remastered.
@Catmobster7586 I mean gta San andreas mobile. the bugs are fixed and better unlike in xbox 360 and definitive edition, they had a lot of received a lot of patches. But in mobile version, It's actually better.

Rockstar really got some random ass company to remaster the older GTA titles without any testers... And there are tonnes of people who willingly throw money at these guys, ridiculous.

Don't expect more music, the ones they lost are the ones they don't have license anymore, and I doubt they would want to have the trouble to bring those back after all this time, unless if they do an overhaul when the mobile version comes

I still prefer original one. Cheap and mod-friendly. Definitive edition never going to be surpass original, even if patched all bugs and glitches.

The weird shoulders and necks from GTA SA will always be the funniest B's I've ever seen. Idk how they messed that up so badly. Even 3ds version of Unity is more stable than that mess they gave us lol

And so do I. But I still think that original versions of GTA 3, GTA VC and GTA SA are better than Definitive ones.

I have the originals and definitive on steam. I prefer the DEFINITIVE. Exactly the same game just better to look at and MUCH better camera/gameplay controls, making a HUGE difference.

Shooting accuracy is probably one of the best things about this for NPCs
The fog is STILL better in the PS2 version the game feels so much smaller in the “Definitive” edition

It's sad that they fix not really big problems that literally break the game and ruin it, but they fix the ones that everyone is talking about (an invisible wall at the border of the map for example, who cares about this wall anyway?)
I guess people who really really love all the tiny Speckled stuff like Dirt in the original version I guess.
