I have a question: Can't niko dive?
Niko being able to swim for longer actually is established in the story, because he swam away during the war ambush for a long time to escape, he is actually a very good swimmer.

The fact that tommy can jump off the literal burj khalifa and roll and survive but can only sprint for 7 seconds is hilarious.
he can outrun vehicles that are traveling at regular speeds tho even if it he only goes for 7 seconds.

and not only that, If you tap the sprint button instead of holding, he'll run faster and loses less stamina.
well Tommy can do it too after you complete paramedic side mission, same with Claude . Complete 12 missons give them unlimited stamina (meanwhile CJ only get max HP buff if you comple GTA SA 12 Paramedic missions)
in gta iv i always tap the sprint button imitating a rhythm of slow and fast taps resembling how i would run in real life and it works so well i never run out of stamina

Vercetti’s stamina can be upgraded throughout the game, somewhat like CJ.
Also, the time running must not be the only parameter, the distance is as important
Almost everyone of them can upgrade stamina, so starter stamina is the only valid one.
Also, it's impossible to measure distance because of map size discrepancies/ratio.

Well technically, Claude sprinting for 7 seconds isn't lame as in GTA, the seconds represent minutes which inturn proves that Claude has pretty good stamina.

There's actually a trick to make Claude sprint longer before getting tired, you just need to rapidly press the sprint button and the game will think Claude isn't sprinting during the times where the sprint button isn't being pressed.
This cheat also applies to gta vice city
I can do it in san Andreas too
until gta 5, that it actually became a real feature to make you faster than just holding it

After like twenty years of playing I've discovered something swesome just recently. Claude and Tommy's stamina increases the more you use the Sprint button. Somehow I didnt notice the difference back then but I do now, use the Sprint button until they become tired, wait for them to rest then repeat it. At the end of the game they will run full sprint and get tired after like a minute and a half or two. In gta v the characters have unlimited stamina, it's not fun.

Please make “Who is the fastest protagonist”. Tests include sprinting speed, fast-swimming speed, swimming speed, jogging speed, walking speed, crouch-moving speed and weapons draw speed.
For me personally, it always seemed like Claude in GTA III had the worst stamina. I swear, sometimes he'll only sprint about 5-6 steps (no exaggeration) and he'll run out of stamina. And that's when I know for a fact he was at full stamina - like he was just driving around in a car for a while and had not expended any stamina at all.

San Andreas introduced the tapping feature to run faster as well. Holding sprint gives you a medium run speed but allows you to maintain it for longer. I'm curious if running at Carl's absolute max speed would make him tire in 7 seconds like the previous two games.
tapping makes the run last longer though
@@jazzabighits4473 Not in San Andreas. They changed the sprinting behavior so that holding X would make you run, but tapping it would make your sprint even faster.

I actually still have my PS2 hooked up, so I'm going to test this out right now to be sure I'm remembering correctly...
EDIT: Alrighty then, I was misremembering. You can run for 12 seconds by holding it (just like in the video). But if you tap it to sprint even faster, you can last about *24 seconds.*
Guess that answers my original question as well: No, you don't only last 7 seconds if you sprint.

And if anyone is interested, Victor Vance lasts 10 seconds sprinting and swimming fast before getting tired, I suppose in GTA LCS it is the same (except swimming) since they have exactly the same mechanics and statistics

It depends not only on stamina but also his muscles, when he is skinny with full stamina he can run much longer then when he is muscular
