I love how when Soundwave shows up, they kind of shit themselves. You're not really sure how many of his buddies he has with him, or what he's going to pull. And I love it that Ravage out of all of them is the only one that can disarm Optimus. Honestly, I'd love a very G1 styled movie, but ramped up a bit, just to show how fucking cool each of them are and what they can do. You wanna "update" the franchise? Make it Totally G1, but you know, actually give the tech specs on the toys and stuff, add more that the Animation doesn't cos it's too kid friendly and time constrained. Make Soundwave really fucking cool. He can detect all kinds of stuff. And Shockwave. Make him badass. And the entire audience will gasp when Megatron actually turns into a gun. As a 47 year old I can see the faults in the original cartoon, sometimes hilariously, but it would be a super cool, and good "financial" move for Hollywood if they actually pulled off a proper G1 transformers movie (and pitch shifted Peter Cullen up a notch, his voice has gotten deep) they've no idea how many fans would just totally cream their pants over a properly done Transformers movie. But we have this argument with many franchises. Fans often come up with way better ideas. Sometimes they can get super over indulgent, but sometimes yeah, they really know the property and are wonderfully protective about it.
I'm not gonna lie I love what they did with the Gen 1 designs for this movie but I'm not a hardcore Gen 1 fan. The only part I'm disappointed in is that the movie ended with no intention of continuing the story.

It would've been cool too when the Decepticons are closing in all you hear is "PRIME!!!" Optimus turns to the voice, the camera pans out and all you see is Megatron's iconic fusion canon. If they didn't want Megatron to fully be in it they should've at least did something like this.
I loved this scene in Bumble Bee because it proved without a doubt the franchise could have been done in G1 style. I actually like the Michael Bay movies well enough, but sometimes the mess on screen just makes my brain hurt. And at other times you can't even tell the robots apart from one another. I first started thinking "You didn't do anything, it sounds like it is supposed to". Then a blaster shot here that sounded a little too familiar. Then I noticed the background theme, and finally the voice overs (Cliffjumper ftw!) and I realized just how amazing this is. These scenes from Bumblebee were great, but I think your editing made it even better

The voices along with the music make my 53 year old heart smile. Hearing Soundwave saying Ravage eject made and seeing a G1 accurate Ravage made me so happy. We need a full G1 era movie.
Love the adjusting of effects like the transformation sound and prime's blaster, and the sound of Cybertron toward the end is gold. What I wouldn't give for a complete remake of the 1986 movie using animation of this quality.

Im 21, My parents started me on a bunch of 80s shows they used to watch. Transformers G1 is definitely my favorite. Watching Bumblebee back when it came out, I could only hear it with these sounds. It's literally perfect.
Fantastic sound editing, must've taken ages to go through the original cartoon for the music, effects and quotes. And to ensure they fit so well with the action. Kudos. This almost makes me forget the steaming hot piles of garbage that were the Bay Films.

The bumblebee cybertron intro was already great imo. Its what I'd been wanting to see in the live action movies for forever. The designs for the transformers was amazing, the visual effects, sound design, everything was on point. Got me feeling things from when I was a kid again, but this just takes it to another level👏

Michael Bay broke my heart when he took control over making his interpretations of Transformers. I still remember when they gave the public their first preview of Megatron - "What the hell is this?? They're making Megatron look like a fighter jet, and Optimus Prime looks like he transforms into a tree!" Every time I watch this TH-cam video, I cheer. I say this is EXACTLY how they should have made the cinema version. Maybe there's still hope for a reboot - and make it EXACTLY like this.

Almost had tears come from my eyes seeing this the first time in theater. Paramount should of went this direction and they would of made a boat load of money. Grimbot did a great job adding the effects from the show. Great job sir

Michael Bay broke my heart when he took control over making his interpretations of Transformers. I still remember when they gave the public their first preview of Megatron - "What the hell is this?? They're making Megatron look like a fighter jet, and Optimus Prime looks like he transforms into a tree!"
Every time I watch this TH-cam video, I cheer. I say this is EXACTLY how they should have made the cinema version. Maybe there's still hope for a reboot - and make it EXACTLY like this.
To be fair, they had to have Megatron transform into something other than a gun. Other than that... yeah 😢
