I did choose and I bought a GT-S Line Sportage. The interior is miles ahead of the Tuscon, although the Tuscon is perfectly fine, it's just the Sportage is more modern and just has a wow factor. In terms of external looks could live with either and think Tuscon edges it-although a little unsure of the back of Tuscon. Both are great cars and TBF Korean cars have come such a long way - now they will and are winning business from German/French/Italian/British brands, not because of price, more because of quality/reliability and warranties.
I've had Audi's, Porsches, Mini Cooper and more recently a Jeep Wrangler, I have ordered the Kia Sportage GDi1.6T GT Line Luxury ('S' in UK) and can't wait to take delivery. Its scheduled to arrive first week of December and super excited. I test drove the Kia, the Hyundai and a Nissan X Trail - although the X-Trail was a fantastic car and super comfy and lovely to drive it didn't have all the toys of the Kia and the fuel economy wasn't anywhere near that of the Kia. I love the look of the Kia and the interior is amazing and very similar to Mercedes new interiors, which i nearly bought but opted for the Jeep Wrangler at the time. Bring it on, can't wait to be a Kia Sportage owner very soon.
I tested both and they are both excellent cars but got such an amazing deal on top of the range Tucson Ultimate self charging hybrid that went for it. I’ve had BMW’s for last 10 years or more and was very impressed with the Sportage and Tucson packages that are more than capable of challenging the German premium brands nowadays
I just brought the GTs line Got rid of Q7 because London is no longer desile and 7seater friendly I love the Kia hybrid it’s just as good way you go Kia ❤
GT-Line from Kia has to be compared either to N-Line or Prime with Tucson. Media system is absolutely the same- the only difference is that in Kia both screens are under one glass and in Hyundai they are separated.
The biggest difference between these two is the kit you get for your money. You can get a fully equipped Full Hybrid N-Line S or Premium Tucson (With sunroof, electric tailgate) for the same price as an MHD Sportage GT-Line (not an S, a midspec GT-Line), without all the nice to haves. If you want a similarly equipped Sportage, you are paying £3-4000 more, depending on your dealer. The Tucson is definitely better value.
Purchased the 2022 Ultimate Tucson Hybrid in the Amazon Grey (Signature) color. Most comments on here have chosen the Tucson over Sportage. The Sportage looks great from a distance, but not so much when you are inside it seeing the body of the car from the side mirrors. Plus, the Sportage is a bit noisy and rather a firm drive like Mazda Cx-5 while Tucson is very quite and a smooth drive and performance. I am happy with my careful selection of Tucson over the Sportage. Great video! You are such a sweet and lovely girl 😍
Tucson for me! The Ultimate with the tech pack so you get adjustable suspension, it makes a big difference to the ride quality (it’s not available on the Kia) plus the Tucson come with a beautiful cream leather interior which totally changes the feel of the interior! P.s that’s a Premium spec not an N-Line!!
Sportage for me with the 12.3"X2 wins it. I like the infotainment/sat nav high up so can keep eyes on the road more when using sat nav. Saving the pennies for the range topping s line hybrid.
I just bought a Kia Sportage. The full digital display made all the difference. Otherwise both cars have a similar performance, handling and look&feel. Oh, and the KIA GT Line does NOT compare to a VW. I would say to an Audi but with the full digital display it's like sitting in a Mercedes GLC without paying double for the brand alone.
Good content, would have like to know the cost off the 2 models, and the difference in cost between, the base and top range models and the cost off the diesel range.
I'm looking to get either the tucson or sportage in a couple of months. both cars for me, can't be seperated in which 1 I should buy. both cars are more impressive than it's rivals who have been around a lot longer than kia and hyundai. that's how far they have come.
Decent comparison, but it would be even better if you compared apples with apples. Your Kia's GT Line is the sporty trim, and your Hyundai's trim is not the sporty N Line (even though at 5:02 you say it is). This could be why you preferred the ride of the Kia. Also, at 7:42, you say that the Tucson's 0-60 time is 8 seconds, and therefore slower than the Kia's. However, this is the official 0-62 time, so both cars have identical acceleration. This confusion between 0-60 and 0-62 is very common in the UK, and figures are often used for the wrong speed.
I'm in NZ, and the Tucson Elite Hybrid is opening for orders, which I've just done. By upgrading to 20" wheels with a 245 width, the car really improved on its handling. Overall, priced better, I love its looks and slightly better economy. Tucson for me then.
If only they made the Tucson with the Sportage interior and ride handling but they don't. The Hyundai look better but the Kia looks like it would work better for me, I guess that 7 year Kia warranty would sway it for the Kia subject to any silly deals for the Hyundai. For now I'll be perched on the fence between these two.

I test drove them a couple of weeks ago. There is no comparison. Kia looks great from a distance but when you get close and drive it you notice all the cheap materials and that it’s still just a kia. However I must say that the screen looks really impressive.
Tucson for me, Having driven them both, I couldn’t really distinguish much difference in the ride quality, the Tucson felt slightly more agile around town (and still good on a dual carriageway). I liked both interiors. I have a slight preference for the Kia dashboard, but not enough to sway me when taking into account the great value for money on the Tucson, Plus I really like the cockpit design in the Tucson and the slightly larger boot. I prefer physical buttons for AC which was the only downside for me on both cars (volume button doesn’t bother me as I always use steering wheel controls) Using both infotainment systems on the move I actually found the separate dedicated ‘buttons’ on the Tucson fairly easy to notch the temperature up or down compared to the panel on the Kia. Owned our Kia mild hybrid gt line S auto awd for a couple of weeks now and love it. Far better looking than the 'looks only a mother could love' Hyundai.
I have chosen the Tucson hybrid a year ago. Still really happy with the car. I really like the Hyundai design. I only optioned it with the smaller wheels. I think the ones on the test car are ugly and to big. They ruined the ride quality also a bit.
They have the same engine, drivetrain, safety features and warranty, so apples to apples (Sportage SX-Prestige Hybrid vs. Tucson Limited Hybrid US models) the Sportage has a better setup/interior (larger screens), heated front windshield, a spare tire (that nobody mentions in these comparisons but you'll notice when you have an issue), USB C connections, rear USB connections on first-row seats that are easily accessible for rear passengers (vs. off floor in center console that few can reach without taking off seatbelt), 10-way power seat driver side (vs. 8), fog lights, and rear turn signals up higher where everyone expects/wants (safer). I personally think the Sportage looks better on exterior too but admit that is subjective. I've driven both, and both are very good and a better value and experience than competition (and even some luxury models), but objectively the Sportage is better at this time.
Have to say the new face lifted Tuscon is far better than the Sportage, have chosen an Ulitmate with the Moss Grey/White interior and it is a bright cabin, although they are virtually the same car.
The Tucson is an Ultimate, not N-Line. It wins this comparison easily, as Hyundai offers a light grey interior and KIA is always all black and dull. Furthermore, the dash on the Tucson is much more balanced and uncluttered. And the outside looks match the interior.
@@dantyers3748 😂 In my country they are called Premium and Premium Sky (pano). Hence the confusion at my side, thought the UK Ultimate was also in a Sky flavour. Also, there is no extra pack in the Netherlands, the Premium has it all, remote parking included. Whatever, the car in the vid is not an N-line. 😉
To be honest I hate that each country has different setup for the car (atleast in Europe). Funny is, Kia is made in Slovakia, but that country has the least amount of options. For comparison Poland can choose almost everything ... including light brown/ beige color interior.
Diesels are dirty, do the gas hybrid is the way to go. Nice to see Rebecca without the siberian weather gear on. The warranty, reliability, and quality would have to greatly decline , in order to be in VW territory.

I may be in a minority of one, but both look miles over styled and way too fussy, especially at the front.....where they look to have been in an accident with a giant cheese grater. The previous Sportage was way better looking!
Kia all the way…I’ve had a Sportage crdi (purchased in 2010 in New Zealand) and I finally traded it for an e-Niro EV which is providing more great service. On a silly note I struggle with owning a car brand that reminds me of ‘Harry High Pants’… Hyundai (High undies) … silly me.
How can anybody claim that the Tucson looks better?? The daylights look like they’ve been bought from AliExpress and the infotainment system looks completely out of place…unbelievable

Why do British people have a pressing need to periodically blast really loud music in their videos? It's a really stupid trend that needs to go the way of the dodo.
I think the old model in both of them was better looking by far, The front of the new Tucson is really ugly like lights through venetian blinds, and the Sportage there is to much going on in the front again ugly, The Peugeot suv models are miles ahead in looks, the guys that designed these cars must be pea brains......1 out of 10 for both

Furthermore, the dash on the Tucson is much more balanced and uncluttered. And the outside looks match the interior.
Ultimate has a pano roof. This one doesn't that I can see so think it's actually the Premium spec
I will choose hyundai tucson because that's my favourite car
I'd choose sportage
Sportage at first but Tuscon looks better in real life. With cream interior Tuscon interior land auto transmission is top class.
I got the tucson but I really wish i waited and got the KIA
Tucson! No contest really.
Diesels are dirty, do the gas hybrid is the way to go.
Nice to see Rebecca without the siberian weather gear on.
The warranty, reliability, and quality would have to greatly decline , in order to be in VW territory.
I find the Hyundai design far too fussy for my taste, it's trying far too hard.
Sportage for me. Much more sofisticated and good looking. And 7 years new cars guaranti instead of 5 for the Tucson.
the Hyundai for me
In USA these are having recalls for engine fires and failures. Hope the uk ones are made in a different factory.
Somebody please please compare the gt line s with the n line s.... Fed up of seeing the gt line s being compared with the Tucson premium model... Stupidity beyond belief... Compare like for like
I may be in a minority of one, but both look miles over styled and way too fussy, especially at the front.....where they look to have been in an accident with a giant cheese grater. The previous Sportage was way better looking!
I'm getting the 72 plate Tucson . I think it's better value for the pound.
I like the kia
If have the Kia for 2 reasons, it's better finished and there's a diesel option.
Shame neither car can be had with a heads up display ....
Sportage Diesel.
My favourite car video is carwow
The Sportage exterior is a bit too radical/strange design for me, really depends on personal pref I guess; have the full load Tuscon ordered 🙂
Ele me desliga eu estou
Sempre mandar mensaje para ele nada estou com cando cansada
How can anybody claim that the Tucson looks better?? The daylights look like they’ve been bought from AliExpress and the infotainment system looks completely out of place…unbelievable
The Tuscan looks better
Great review as always Rebecca 😃 You can tell you're still a regular at the gym 💪
Car wise- I would go for the Kia Sportage. Seriously considering the GT Line-S HEV version as my next lease car.
Look stunning today !
Don’t like how the new Tucson looks. Kia for me.
Actually the Tucson is more beautiful. To me too
Rebecca is so pretty ❤
Kia looks better!!
Gee Rebecka I see fashions have gone back to the '70's as believe this or not I used to wear trousers similar to them pants your wearing in this video, except mine started out as yellow, till I bleached them and finished up a shading of yellow to white.
Cars wise I'd go for the Kia Sportage but then I'm not into SUV's of any size or make.
OKAY 👍 have a good day today
I will choose Rebecca with 22 year warranty
Why do British people have a pressing need to periodically blast really loud music in their videos? It's a really stupid trend that needs to go the way of the dodo.
Pretty much sister cars! Both look about as bland as each other too 😂
Previous Tucson was very nice looking. New Tucson is sooooo ugly. That lights look like they were taken off some chinese cheap new year tree.
Yeah the headlights shape ruined the front of this car
That’s no N LINE
Is funny coz Hyundai Owens the KIA yet from what you saying the KIA is given the better stuff over all .
It's a win-win situation for them.
Nope...Hyundai is a much bigger company than its little sister Kia. So take it from there 😉
Tuscan
Once again, I'm watching a video detailing 2 generic, utterly boring crossovers because Rebecca Jackson is presenting them.
I think the old model in both of them was better looking by far, The front of the new Tucson is really ugly like lights through venetian blinds, and the Sportage there is to much going on in the front again ugly, The Peugeot suv models are miles ahead in looks, the guys that designed these cars must be pea brains......1 out of 10 for both
Both are uglier than their pre gens but the Peugeots still looks weak compared to both new sportage and Tucson .
