Hey Brian, Thank you for the Dual Rate/Expo video! I have one of the original Parkzone Ultra Micro Corsairs WITHOUT SAFE or AS3X. The thing was so touchy it was almost un-flyable - and has the battle scars to prove it. I recently purchased a DX8 and have been playing around with the expo and dual rates based on your video. It’s flying GREAT now, thanks to you!!
I'm so glad I could help. This concept of Dual Rates and Expo are not easily explained, but once you see and fly it, I know you "get" how awesome the feature really is!
Hey Brian, I had no idea youd actually make me a video! That was really a cool thing you did. I got the DX8 by the way. Also, I figured it out on the 230s firmware. This hobby really requires you to be a problem solver, which I love to do anyways. But anyway, the video was great and helped. Thanks a bunch
I'm glad I could help! Sometimes it's easier to just post a quick video, rather than trying to type a complex, yet easily confused reply. Thanks for asking the question. I like to help when I can. Like you said, this hobby can have lots of questions unanswered, like we should just "know" this stuff from birth... This hobby definitely has a steep learning curve! A little less than three years ago, I jumped back into RC. When I was a kid, I played with lots of RC things, but never got any aircraft flying. I actually had a helicopter when I was a kid, but I never actually got it built, let alone flying it. This was a weird rotor only helicopter with a large vertical stabilizer fin that would counteract the torque from the rotor once moving. Hypothetically it'd fly a lot like a plane; I had my doubts. I never flew the thing, but years later I finally saw one fly on TH-cam!!! Glad to hear you figured out the 230's firmware issue!
I love the a380. is that advanced flying? In the video, i didn't get what happened to the motor. Is that the part that got damaged. How hard is it to replace parts such as that or did you need to? What state do you live in by the way. I'm guessing the scenery look like somewhere out west. my right? I live in south florida getting ready for what looks like the perfect storm. Its nice to have a consultant on this stuff. Maybe email might be better. Doesnt the world read our conversations. Have you ever heard of a place called Massage Envy. I own one of them in Florida. If you live near one I can send you a massage for you and your wife for all your help. later
Gene Sultan Are you meaning the A330-600 or the A320? I actually don't have an A380... Also, if you can, comment on that particular video so I can tell what part you're reffering too (or just copy the link, and I can follow it). Thanks for the question though! As for advanced flying, no, it's not that hard, but when you get more complex, your mistakes carry higher consequences...so in a way, it's more advanced, but my A330 and the A320 (when she was alive) are both good flying planes, but they need more room for landings and takeoffs.
Yes it was the a330. Looks bad ass up in the sky. too bad we can't travel on this one. I have looked relentlessly to find good info on learning some heli spektrum set ups. If you know of any good info on these, please pass it on. 1. the servo setup:whats the difference between 90 degree and the other ones. 2.analog switch setup and digital switch setup:what are these. 3. gyro set up 4. governor 5. tail curve 6. mixing 7. sequencer and 8. range test. I pretty much know everything else but I can't figure these things. If you know a good place to learn these last few things I need to know that would be great. thanks a bunch
Hey Brian, If you’re familiar with it, would you be willing to make a video on the SAFE, and AS3X programming setup for the Spektrum AR637T receiver? The existing videos on TH-cam are complicated and more difficult to follow than your videos.
Thank you for the kind words, but not yet. I plan to make some footage like this, on the AR637T, and similar. Keep an eye out for notifications on my channel, and I hope to help you out soon.
Hi Brian and camera crew, not sure if this is the correct way to ask a question on you tube but I have a spektrum dx9 (black edition) and after making some settings changes to the voice prompts and analogue switch trims, it now won't start up. The back light comes on but I have no display, the spektrum orange logo lights up and goes straight off and the unit constantly beeps and shouts voice prompts at me even though I'm not touching anything. Iv even tried holding down the scroll wheel whilst switching on but has no effect anymore. Have you ever come across this, might you know how to hard reset one of these? Thanks for the all the great videos by the way, I love watching you fly and its what got me into this great if expensive 😣 hobby. Sorry of this is the wrong kind of messages you were expecting but you seem extremely knowledgeable about spektrum especially and just wondered if you had any pointers. Many thanks and please keep the great videos coming. Kind regards to both you and camera crew. NR Uk
You explained it a lot better than a lot of other people that I’ve heard. 👍🏻
Thanks! Expo is best used to experience the somewhat foreign concept.
