Brady's ego didn't get in his way. he was perfectly willing to stay with the Patriots, but Belichick made it clear he didn't want Brady around. It was Brady who kept the good players around, and took salary cuts to pay them. Players were willing to play for Belichick because of Brady.

He took a BOTTOM of the basement deal for 2 years at 25 mill each year when (from Tampa Bay) Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodger ( 2 bums in comparison) were making 45 mill a year. Yeah... BeliDork had all of you fools fooled. Not only did he push Brady out. If you had half a brain you would have come to the next conclusion. He pushed him out FOR Cam Newton. You guys are such numbnuts. think of this.. i called weei once to unpack this and even they were taken a back.... If tom had never left, he would have never won or even sniffed at another ring... him leaving allowed him to stop mahomes one more time.. "the baby goat" was set and ready for take off into NFL stratosphere if he had gone back to back, and Brady, once again like Mahomes kryptonite he is, stopped his pursuit one more time, with a brand new team, that was ranked one of the worst just a year prior... they won doing it Toms way.. what he needed and wanted, Bruce was a place holder.. a fun one, but just a figure head.. Tom was running fucking everything... they wanted him to... Like i said, i hate that brady didnt play out his career here, but him leaving allowed him to set a few more real GOAT records, undeniably establish his legend, and stick it to the PATIROTS of all people!!! its a story that couldnt have been written better and its no better fitting than to be the story of, Tom Brady.... we as pats fans should be so grateful and gracious to have watched it unfold, over 20+ years with toothpicks and microscopes, we got to romanticize and fawn over our beloved, hansom, godlike, PERFECT HUMAN, my idol... BB kept Tom because he was the cheapest option. He never for ONE SECOND saw Brady as a or the starter. Evidence by the fact he gave Bledsoe the highest contract in the history of the game at that in the off season. If it wasn't for Mo Lewis BeliDork is fired within another season. He would have NEVER played Brady. Belidork is not the person for the drafting of Tom Brady. His qb coach at the time begged him to. With his 9th pick of the day, a throwaway pick, he did so to please Dick Rehbein, who would die a year later. Then BeliChump wanted to get rid of Brady after the 1st three SB's by not offering him a contract (tte same way hi did it in the end). But Kraft went around him and did the deal. The desire in the football world for drama between Belichick and Brady is amazing. It's always seemed pretty clear to me that the conflicts were between Kraft and Belichick, so Tom leaving mostly freed him from drama, while Bill got to keep the drama, and had to teach some new kid how to lead a team. It's impossible to win in this league without a good QB, and as the draft teaches us every year, as it taught us with Tom Brady, scouting is basically a crap shoot, and no one is good at evaluating who will take to the NFL grind, and who wont, especially under center.

He never had the Hall of Famers Peyton or Mahomes had. Even Brees had better longer tenured white receivers and running backs
Yes, aside from Gronk and a cup of coffee with Moss, he had mediocre offensive players around him

So, it was Brady's fault that he only had to score more than 30 points in his entire career 44 times out of 285 games he played for New England? Belichick ensured that Brady didn't have to go out and score on every drive from 2001-2019! 84.56% of Brady's starts the opposing teams score less than 30. The only team in that span who allowed less 30 point games were Baltimore with 42! Please!!!!!

This is why players coach are so successful. The pats was the last team in the past decade to win without a players coach. The trend as of now for Super Bowl is you have to be a players coach. Dougie was when the first year eagles won one but the year after he looked more stressed than himself. Expectations really got to him. He didn’t look happy coaching after eagles won the sb. If you are a coach and want longevity, learn from Greg popovich. Different sport but concept is the same. Though pop is a blend of being a players coach n his way(which is rare), his strength is he truly cares about the players as a human being n off the court. When u have a once in a lifetime talent or player, you ride him until the wheels fall off. Pop treated duncan like every other players the same to a certain extent to get the teamwork concept down but he knew he had to tend to his superstar needs when need be. Bill is alll about football and that was his flaw.

The Patriots won the division in 11 consecutive seasons from 2009-19 and won it in 17/18 seasons with Brady under center.
Under Bill Belichick, the Patriots have failed to win the AFC East just 6 times.
The 2020, 2021, and 2022 seasons marked the 1st time under him that they went 3 seasons without winning the division. They've also missed the playoffs in 2 of the last 3 years and haven't won a playoff game since 2018.
1.) Bill Belichick has a worse record without Tom Brady, 81-93 (.465%), (.472% in NE) than Rex Ryan an average coach, 61-66 (.480%)
2)Belichick made the playoffs just 22 percent of the time without Tom Brady and he is 1-2 in those games.(The latest an embarrassing 47-17 beat down at the hands of Josh Allen and the Bills)
Bill Belichick in 11 seasons of coaching without Tom Brady:
    81-93 Record
    42-43 at Home
    31-67 vs .500 teams (16-38 w/NE)
55-70 w/1st Round Picks at QB
    67-76 w/Pro Bowl QBs
    7 losing seasons.
    0 Superbowls.
    0 conference titles.
    0 division titles.
    1 playoff win.
How do you explain this? 🧐
Bill Belichick with Tom Brady: 249-75. 77% win percentage
    Patriots since 2000
    At Gillette Stadium
Tom Brady starts: 134-23 (.854) Other QB starts: 19-18 (.513)
    When Allowing 17+ Points
    Tom Brady starts: 118-73 (.618)
    Other QB starts: 16-44 (.267)
    When allowing 24+ points
    Tom Brady starts: 56-61
    .479 win% 126 higher than 2nd place
    Since Brady left: 2-23
    .008 win% 2nd lowest in that span
BB with Tom Brady: Averaged 28 PPG
BB with every other QB: Averaged 18 PPG
At home vs AFC East since 2001
    with Tom Brady: (47-5, .904)
    w/o Tom Brady: (6-9, .400)
Bill Belichick when opponent scores 30+ points
    With Brady: 15-27
    Without Brady: 0-24
The Patriots with Mac Jones are now 0-13 whenever an opponent scores 25+ points
Pats since 2000 against teams that made the playoffs
    With Brady: 89-42 (.679)
    W/o Brady: 10-25 (.286)
If PHI, MIA, DAL all make the playoffs this season, it would move that to 10-28
    2000 Patriots (with Drew Bledsoe):
    5-11 record
    25th in PPG
    17th in pass offense DVOA
    21st in offensive DVOA
    23rd in offensive EPA/play
    2001 Patriots (with Tom Brady)
    14-3 record, Super Bowl champs
    6th in PPG
    10th in pass offense DVOA
    11th in offensive DVOA
    10th in off EPA/play
Patriots were 5-13 in BB and Drew Bledsoe's first 18 games together(that's the same record as the Colts started with Peyton Manning in Indianapolis).
Patriots were 15-3 in BB and Brady's first 18 games together.
Games started by Brady in those games in 2001 the Patriots offense averaged 26.6 PPG which would've been second in the NFL in scoring offense that season behind only the greatest show on turf Rams who led the league in scoring averaging 31.4 PPG.
In his 6 years as a head coach before 2001, BB had never had a top 10 ranked scoring offense. The Patriots offense was ranked 25th in ppg scored in 2000 with Bledsoe(4x pro bowler) as the QB. In 2001, Brady's first year as the starter, the Patriots were ranked 6th in scoring offense.
    Belichick’s “system”
2001: 6 PPG increase with Brady
2008: 11 PPG decrease without Brady
2016: 10 PPG increase with Brady
2020: 6 PPG decrease without Brady
Maybe BB is a "system coach." 🐸☕️
