- The Big Country - high points in the movie
Truly Magnificent Seven STARS in western movies:
1. John Wayne : soft outside and tough inside
2. Clint Eastwood : calm and wily
3. Kirk Douglas : emotional and fun
4. Gregory Peck : upright and respectable
5. Paul Newman : good looking and stay cool
6. Steve McQueen : spontaneous GUTS
7. Val Kilmer : cool and gallant - บันเทิง
The chemistry between Greg and Jean in this movie was majestic
That is so true, showing decent quality of human nature,
@@motionattached yes. So pure and right
I Love Burl Ives. He never made a bad movie. Great singer/folk artist.
His physical stature is hidden gift.
IMO
Best Gregory Peck movie he ever made and unquestionably one of the great all time westerns
TEN FILM TO NÌE WESTERN GŁUPKU !
This is my favorite western.....cast, script, score, cinematography......absolutely magnificent
💯 %
Same with me 😊
This is one of my favorite movies. Stellar cast, beautiful musical score. Great cinematography.
William Wyler was a great cinematographer, he sure knew how to make fantastic movies. His use of extensive wide and long shots for everything from fist fights to landscapes was extraordinary. There are a couple of short YT vids about the making of The Big Country with interviews of the actors - search _Charlton Heston on "The Big Country"_ and _Gregory Peck on "The Big Country"_ . Worth a watch!
The music with this clip though isn't from The Big Country. I think it's from the TV miniseries Lonesome Dove.
Burt Ives not just a great singer .but what an actor as well .great movie .
I love this movie. I was in a junior drum and bugle corps which featured the theme from The Big country. We won the Canadian National competition that rear (1969 - I'm old). I got to be older than 21 so had to leave but a couple of years later my corps won the North American Championship - a very big deal - still featuring The Big Country. My corps then played in one of the first half time programs for the Super Bowl. How awesome is that! That drum Corps was The DE La Salle Drum and Bugle Corps from Toronto Canada. I still march down a street with the tune of The Big Country running though my head.
What a glorious memories, which stays with you good life.
A phenomenal. Very few other repeat. Capturing the moral Western. Stood testing time with it's courage !
What an invincible character of courage, decency, and honesty.
The music sucks
Chuck Connors and Burl Ives should have got Oscars for their performances in this film.
Chuck Connors played roles of bad guy so stunningly real, which depromoted him socially.
I think Burl Ives did. Truly magnificent performance.
His physical appearance echos with that personality well.
Burl Ives won best supporting actor that year.
This is a classic and with character and morals
The Big Country....one of my favorite movies and great music
The music is VERY distracting in this video.. especially if you love this movie..
Yeah I just watched this movie and came to TH-cam for clips…. This one is unwatchable
Jean Simmons, Charlton Heston, Burl Ives, Chuck Connors, Gregory Peck, the music score.....what more could one ask for??😊
that is the music score from Lonesome Dove...The Big Country was just as good...too bad they mixed it up.
YES! I knew that music wasn't from The Big Country movie. Thank you on that.@@dan1955able
Love western movies, and this is my favorite.
That is one of my favorite too. Courage and upright. 🕹😂
An absolutely great film.
had this dvd for many a year....great act, director, etc.
My second favorite western behind The Searchers
A great Western with a big cast and Burl ives magnificent 👌
From a book by Donald Hamilton, who wrote several westerns that were made into movies, such as Glenn Ford's The Violent Men. He is more famous for his Matt Helm series.
This film is a masterpiece. In my honest opinion, one of the greatest westerns of all time.
I echo with you, a truly great western movie. 🕹
@@motionattached Thank you. My kindest regards, and best wishes.
IMO, Chuck Connors sold that scene.
Bravado and cowardice well displayed at the same time.
I don't think that is easy.
Burl Ives, Gregory Peck, and Jean Simmons -- and he held his own.
Always enjoyed this movie.
great human nature and boldness.
Showing the original scene without the poor editing and the music from Lonesome Dove would have been preferable.
Ya editing was actually shit.
The original soundtrack was great, ridiculous to replace it.
You got that right. The scene is ruined.
A great movie, excelent cast...I wish to see it again...lovely.
Thanks for uploaded, marvelous
The Big Country . Great movie
Super westerny z przeszłości + super obsada !!!!
Loved that movie. I always pictured life after the movie, where Peck's character and his wife made a fine ranch with many kids, at least one of which, maybe more, married some of Heston's kids. Also, those two men remained lifelong friends.
western movies could bring us memories of good old days.
What a great movie,
Burl Ives was one of the best character actors ever!!
Great film, great music, great cast. Burl Ives a standout. The scene where he has to kill his son played by Chuck Connors is very dramatic and moving.
that scene shows quite respectable and unshakable of manhood tha he played so well.
Great movie. All of the main characters gave great performances. Remember Charlton Heston is in thi movie also
……this film (1958) was directed by William Wyler. He was very impressed with Mr Heston’s portrayal as the ranch manager, that he signed him up for his new production, ‘Ben-Hur’, in the role of ‘Messala’. The various actors’ who did ‘screen tests’ for the title role, weren’t satisfactory, so Wyler re-cast Mr Heston as ‘Judah Ben-Hur’. What an inspired choice!
Charlton Heston won ‘Best Actor’ at the 1960 Academy Awards’, for his portrayal.
While Filming Ben-Hur, Wyler and Heston shoot some aditional Footage for Big Country, Close-Ups and Reaction Shots.
Burl Ives should have gotten an Academy Award for his performance.
He did.
Good movie.
Burl Ives made the whole movie!
Gregory Peck dis his part, 😂🕹
As high a quality of a western movie as you will ever see.
"The Big country"***物 静かだが男らしいグレゴリー・ペック最高ですね。お爺さんから引き継いだ牛馬の水場「ビックマディー」を守るJean Simmonsは賢く清楚な美しさを湛えている。又バール・アイブスの存在感ある渋い演技が光っていた。「真昼の決闘」「荒野の決闘」「シェーン」とともに西部劇の傑作中の傑作に挙げる。
It looks like you had enjoyed western movies, I am glad you mentioned that movie 「シェーン」, the leading actor perfectly presented a heroic manhood, calm, fearless, and caring.

This was a great movie and this was a great great scene
do wish people still live with dignity like that nowadays.
@@motionattached some do they just don’t make the news very often.
On the shortlist of best western movies ever ...
If you ever get a chance to read The original book by Donald Hamilton, do so. It's better than the movie.
Great movie one of my favs. Brilliant acting all round. Burl Ives certainly deserved his Oscar.
Great movie and castings, famous all..
Chuck Conners never got his true due for what a great actor he was. He should have been the lead in more westerns.
Yeah, unlike Clint Eastwood, who also made his initial fame in a TV western, Connors never made that leap to leading man the way Eastwood did.
Such a great movie. The music score was top notch. Why did they overdub that music on top of this scene?
Jean Simmons was kinda cute.
Gregory Peck's two movies with very cute actresses: Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday, and Jean Simmons in The Big Country, but the role limited Jean to play big with love.
Follow me ... gentlemen. The best line in the film , proving Ives was the equal of his enemy.
Brilliant Burl Ives
He stole the show at the dance party.
A good movie 🎬 👍
😂🕹
First class movie.
A truly classic movie, 🕹
The big country ,,what a great movie
and great personalities of most.
You wonder how such a disciplinarian father could raise a kid like that who he had to tell to fight fair in his 30's.
Honesty and boldness embedded in his traits, not good parenting.
Burl was larger than life.
One of the best
"Follow me and walk this way ... gentlemen. "
"If I walk that way, I'll have to gain 65 pounds to perfect that waddle. 🤔
😄😅
It was a long time ago when honour meant something
This movie is the big country
It's classic no one can match
Truly classic. Here is my big three western movies: Big country, Sundance kid, and unforgiven.
Note the guy at the water trough has one gun back to front
One thing about Burl Ives' character, he could see when two people are in love.
he follows common sense and bold nature.
THE BIG COUNTRY was based on the novel by Donald Hamilton, who also ginned up a slew of action thriller novels featuring that lovable secret agent Matt Helm (played by Dean Martin during the 1960s and by Anthony Franciosa during the 1970).
Thanks for sharing that, Donald Hamilton brought some great stories to the world, 🕹🕹
I need to get this on Blue Ray.
enjoy it.
Big country
Where did you get that back ground music, not original
spot on, that was not original, 🕹😂
“The Big Country”, get the name of this Magnificent Movie correct! Burl Ives got an Oscar and Golden Globe for his performance of The Matriarch of the Hennessy Clan. 👍👍 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This scene is from The Big Country.
One of my favorite films. We could have done without the music.
Weird seeing Chuck Connors as a coward.
to stand out the courage of Gregory in his role.

يوم قديم جيد
Music sadly spoils it a bit. But still, thank you.
Your comment is great, adding a bit entertaining to a lousy clip. 💌
The magnificent seven? Music from lonesome dove? I don't get it?
Copyright of the music has probably not yet expired. Or at least, someone didn’t want to risk it on a short video. Oddly, someone else put it on with the original music.
He had the right to delope, and he chose to do so, leaving the punk to the "ministrations" of his father.
In the 1800s they used to sell the stuff that did the same thing on a wagon train it was only a dollar
Now a dollar, you can buy an egg. Wondering it is the time moving too fast, or the price moving too fast. 😂🕹
最初に右側に立ってた人はテレビの西部劇でライフルマンテレビドラマで主役やってた人ですねチャク.コナ―ズさんかも?
That is right, he is Chuck Connors.
Music and instrumentation is a lot like Quimby
Edna Ferber’s “Big Country”.

Why are you using the soundtrack from lonesome Dove?
since this movie didn't have right soundtrack to echo both courage and romantic vibes in this particular part..
you have good knowledge of movie soundtrack.
What movie is this?
The big country, one of the best western movies.
Why sully one of the most brilliant films ever which had a marvellous soundtrack by Jerome Moross with the atonal mess you have dubbed into this clip?
That was early experiment, check current ones, thanks! 🕹😂
What is the name of the movie?
The Big Country
This was so badly uploaded - missed the entire center & last portion of the movie ! Why did you bother !
To present some magnificent manhood and western behaviors, not just focus on movie itself.
If you have to lie. You have nothing to offer
Good solid film fun to watch, the original film score is far superior to the anemic, wandering elevator music used in this clip.
Those are not scenes from The Magnificent 7 but from The Big Country movie...
I tried to mention that Truly magnificent seven western movie stars, but the magnificent seven movie. Check the description. Sorry for the confusion.
Mocie is The Big Country
Is The Big Country, not The Magnificent Seven, please...
by "truly magnificent seven" It means the seven western movie starts, not the title: 1. John Wayne ,2. Clint Eastwood , 3. Kirk Douglas,
4. Gregory Peck , 5. Paul Newman, 6. Steve McQueen, 7. Val Kilmer, check the description.
O.K.
>>---------------------> Well, that stupid music ruined all the scenes.
Agree, a bit distracted, the effort didn't echo your taste, which motivates me to make a dry but cool western one.
Oh Great didn't really notice the music until you mentioned it!
Agreed.. putting the Quigley Down Under score over what was probably one of the most dramatic parts of the movie is tantamount to sacrilege....lol.
This is the movie Big Country, not Magnificent 7
"truly Magnificent Seven" means the seven western movie stars: 1. John Wayne , 2. Clint Eastwood, 3. Kirk Douglas, 4. Gregory Peck, 5. Paul Newman, 6. Steve McQueen, 7. Val Kilmer, as stated in the description. Sorry for the confusing.
Bonita pelicula x q la cortan no entuendo el ingles y luego la cortan gcs.
WTF are you doing laying in generic bg music to the western with the greatest score of all time?
These are scenes from " The Big Country ". Duh !
By truly Magnificent Seven, it means the seven western movie stars, not movie title, which described in the description. Thanks!:
1. John Wayne, 2. Clint Eastwood, 3. Kirk Douglas,
4. Gregory Peck, 5. Paul Newman, 6. Steve McQueen, 7. Val Kilmer
Syncing in the music of Lonesome Dove was in interesting idea, but it didn't work.
I am on your side for this, 😂😂
This isn’t begin ing the flim, and its name “BİG COUNTRY”. Not this.
Why on Earth would you put the wrong music here? The score by Jerome Moross is magnificent, and was a big part of making The Big Country the great movie that it is. This is just pitiful. Shame.
That was early experiment, check latest ones, 😂🕹🎉
truly magnificent seven what? This has nothing to do with that movie. This is "The Big Country." Did i miss something?
امريكا.سوف.تكون.مع.الحق.وولاليس.مع.باطل.
كان فرانكلين دي روزفلت قائداً مثله.
Esto no es los siete magníficos jajaja
Burl Ives steals the film from under the noses of the ‘stars’ Big Country not Mag 7!!!!!!!
Yes, not Mag 7, it is about Truly magnificent seven western movie stars: John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Kirk Douglas , Gregory Peck : Paul Newman, Steve McQueen, Val Kilmer, as stated in the description. Happy New Year! 🕹
Campi.
Scrub this....too disjointed, with poor editing...no way to tribute one of the finest Westerns ever made.
sorry about my😀 early exercise, check out my latest: th-cam.com/video/rn4JzPxMHwU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZC_Z3BYhEL784LG9
Val Kilmer!!!!😂😂😂🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻
The music ruins the scene and it's inappropriate. It doesn't set with the scenes nature
I am on your side, while the views seem not on our side. 😂😹😹
Why use different music, whatever this is? No improving on Jerome Moross's original score, and whatever this is just lessens the impact.
Thanks for your input. That was early experiment, please check latest ones. 🎉🍿
Silly.
The scene does not work for me. The old guys are going to start a war, but suddenly one wants to use duelling pistols to solve his father-son issues. Makes no sense.
That was the situation: The old guys were in war, while young people were in love. 🕹😂
Cut the annoying loud music.
Crap added music
Should we call it a failed experiment? 😂😂
