- CRANK IT REAL GOOD. It doesn't quite look like the Crank Chop in the Infomercial, but the seller who sold it to me from beneath his trench coat told me it was. Who knows. CRANK TIME.

These companies seem to put far more time and money into making the product not look shitty in the commercial, than they do in actually designing the product.

Springas Top Gear didn't get taken down, they fired one of the presenters for physically attacking a colleague. Even he wouldn't have done that accent.

I think it's fair that if they show people fumbling with simple tasks in infomercials, it's only fair to show someone using the product in a similar fashion.

It appears you didn't get an official crank chop. I'm skeptical of this review for that reason. Vince would never lead us astray.

I have to wonder, is he actually using the official Crank Chop, or is its a KO? Becuase the one he's using seems smaller with a green lid, while the one in the commercial looks about twice as big with a red lid. That could explain some quality issues, and it's not the first time he's used similar, but lesser, product.

Yep. If you're gonna test an As Seen on TV item, it should be the item seen on tv, not a cheaper knock off of an already crap product. Maybe there's a reason it's crap, from the re-design.

Just what I've always dreamed about, a kitchen tool that mimics the action of starting a mower.
so they took a pullstring from a lawn mower and stuck it in a processer. how long do you think the string will take to snap on that thing?
The issue I have with all these "easy chopping" tools is they are so small so I don't see how they are more useful then a blender or food processor like the always claim. Yeah they can be a pain to clean but you can make larger values of what you need not like half a cup of it. Hell chopping up food is not really that much work.
That infomercial is comedy gold all by itself.

I got a similar thing from Tupperware and I use it all the time.. I'm actually quite happy with it
But does it make snow cones faster than Mr Frosty? Therein lies the question.

I love how they tossed a pre-cooked foods into the thing. And that half melted ice/snow. Legit infomercial is legit.
Watching Mike cutting anything makes me really nervous because I keep fearing he might cut off his bloody fingers or somethin'.

Honestly, if it actually works, that actually looks like a good product for me. I have a torn ligament in my wrist and chopping up food into fine bits is hard because of the amount of cutting needed. I can manage a few chops here and there but if I wanted to chop it up finely I'd love something like that.

Yeah... if it's that tough to pull and it doesn't retract properly AND it doesn't cut up food all the way, I'm better off saving my money for a food processor of some kind (really not that hard to use. Infomercials that try to denounce the better product by saying how "hard" they are to use always both amuse and annoy me because nowadays things really aren't that hard to work.) Also, it looks like it would put too much stress on my wrist and would probably be worse for it than just cutting stuff. Oh well. I'll save up for that food processor and suck it up in the meantime.
The one he got is not only a knock off product, but he's using it wrong, he pulls the cord too far out and isn't setting it on the table and holding it down with one hand while he pulls the cord with the other.

I have one of these from a different brand and I love it. I use it most days and it only takes a few seconds to chop really finely.

I read a blogpost once abt how alot of these products are basically produced as aids for ppl with different disabilities but selling them like this pays for the product and thus makes sure the product is marketed and available. I kinda can't see that side to this product though

I lost it when he just shoved the pieces in the food processor. I lost everything when he tossed it out the window.
They market these products all wrong the only benefit of having one of these is it does not require power and when do you have no electricity? When camping. Just change it from a time saver, which it really isn't, to a handy camping tool which it potentially is

We've had one of these from Avon for ages and what I use it for whipping cream/over whipping to make butter. I just find it's quieter and doesn't scare my puppy

I actually have one of these (aunt gave it to me for a housewarming gift). I usually use it for smaller things (mushrooms for instance) but I did tear up some cabbage laves and used it to chop it up for gyoza filling. It has a pretty specific purpose but I haven't really had trouble with it like Mike had here.

Why do infomercials assume that human beings can't handle knives? They keep shoving all these slicing devices down our throats like putting together, using and then individually washing each part of a slicer is easier than just using a knife.

I have one of these things and the pull cord on mine never sticks this badly.
We have a tupperware one at home and it actually works quite well. Comes with a larger container too

sorry, but that is an off brand crank chop, you got a knock off... a real crank chop is first of all red and is slightly larger, and WORKS you should really use it ON the table, that is where it would work the best.
