Thank you for this video! You’re so sweet and this is so realistic. I’m homeschooled now (I’m in 12th grade) and I’ve changed high schools every year, so I didn’t really have the opportunity to start a club or be in a club or take APs. I’ve taken honors all through highschool and now this year I’m taking APs. It’s been hard seeing a ton of videos of people my age saying they like found the cure to major illnesses and stuff when i havent even done anything that could compare! so this video really helped me feel seen, you had a very realistic and relatable experience

As far as I know, Barnard definitely does accept international students! In addition, they have amazing resources supporting students from all backgrounds - good luck :)
Thank you so much, I’m preparing my SAT in November and I’m soo overwhelmed with my NU ED deadline, and this made me de stress a little. I don’t also have any national level activities so I’m reassured. My friends and family tell me to lower my bar and not apply to my dream school Northwestern but I won’t budge. Thanks !

- no, calculus was only offered senior year at my school so we had the option of taking regular, ab or bc! I took honors precalculus my junior year.

guys on the commonapp are we supposed to submit all past attempts for standardized testing or am i allowed to send in just my highest SAT score?
Hi , i'll be sending my college applications in 2023's nov ig but i'm facing some problems. The main Prob that i'm facing is that during the Covid period our school and City were fully closed and hence i could not attend any type of EC's or Honors . Besides my school doesn't give us the opportunities to 11th and 12th graders to participate in EC's or Honors. So i can say i dont have anything for Honors and EC's except that i know the entire Python language. So how much is it going to affect my college application ?
Can i get admissions by getting a SAT score of 1500+ and a good GPA ( i mostly had a CGPA of 9.1+ through out my grade 9th and 10th and am expecting around that much in 11th and 12th as well )

Hi! While I can never say whether or not a college will accept you based on any single factor, keep in mind that when reviewing your application, they will compare your Honors/EC's based on what is available at your school and in your environment. They are aware that many opportunities were taken away as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and as such will not hold this against you as it was out of your control. Additionally, they will be made aware that your school does not provide such opportunities. I hope that this helps!

Can you talk a little bit about the classes you took in 9th, 10th and 11th grade? Do you mind also talking a little bit about your AP scores? I'm struggling in the academic portion of the application and would love to go to the schools you got in to.
Keep in mind that it varies based on what your school offers, but I only chose to take challenging courses that excited me and that I thought I might be able to excel in. For example, I took honors math and spanish all four years of high school, but remained at the regular level for history because it just wasn't my thing.

hi!! i just wanted to say thank you for the informational and helpful video- i also appreciated u telling us that you don't have to do ec's related to your field of interest in high school, it was really reassuring :') i just had a question about your role in YMAA at your school- i'm interested in starting a chapter at mine but am worried about the time commitment. what kind of activities did you guys do at your chapter and how impactful were they?
Of course! I think it can be as time consuming as you want it to be-starting the chapter itself will take time as it involves an application process with the YMAA organization, and you also have to gather enough members at your school. We did a bunch of fundraising events, created social media informational sessions, organized scavenger hunts, connected with local dementia awareness groups and nursing homes!

You must answer truthfully in the honors section, as well as all parts of the application, as they may verify the validity of your answers through external sources.

just letting you know, you dont have to be mean, you gotta at least know it takes a long time to achieve all of the things she achieved.
barnard is a college of columbia university. regardless of it’s independent curricula, barnard is columbia, and it explicitly says that on their website.
