Hiking CALIFORNIA : Bat Caves Buttes | Salton Sea | 4K

6-8-2024 : This was one of the very few hikes on AllTrails with a view of Salton Sea. Trail begins through the drainage pipes and was somewhat easy to follow up towards the Bat Cave Buttes. From a distance, you'll be able to see the buttes and the flag with the bench. The dirt trail was wide and sandy for the most part with absolutely no shade.
Due to the terrain, it's impossible to 100% follow the AllTrails route but that's because there are various ways to get to the same destination. In other words, you really cannot get lost out there. There's a shortcut to the right of the butte that's a short and steep climb towards the bench with the flag.
Total ~2.5 miles; ~1 hour to complete.
