I’ve just finished reading the book and I found it really amusing. Dickens is definitely at his best when he describes funny people like Mrs Nickleby😂😂However, I also found some interesting pieces of the story where he openly attacks the people he hated the most such as politicians, lawyers and aristocrats or snobs. This book is a real page turner.
Thank you for defending the women characters. It's so frustrating how people are annoyed that the past isn't like the present and miss the forest for the trees. His female characters are always as lively as their male counterparts, just in different ways. It's almost as if men and women are different or something.
Yeah I agree with you. People judge female characters from the past way more than they judge male ones, simply because they don't live up to the standards of what they think women should be today. It's a shame because they miss out on some truly great characters, especially in Dickens.
