My mom had a red pickup truck for years. Immediately after getting my license any time I was allowed to drive that truck would blast this song on the radio. 😅
Probably the most exciting scene in the movie because there isn’t an actual tornado. It’s the anticipation. This scene encompasses a whole vibe of storm chasing. That helicopter shot of the water tower is the most “Oklahoma” thing ever captured on film, and the film score is just a cherry on top.
The thing about _Twister_ that I love the most is how great the camaraderie is between the storm chasers. You totally believe that this is a ragtag group who has been together for years and would do anything for each other. Every time I watch _Twister,_ I want to join them and chase storms.
Mark Mancina once again taking a good film and elevating it to a whole new level. Why he ever stopped doing action/thriller scores is beyond me. He was the magic that made 90s action movies what they were. (Bad boys, twister, speed etc).
He tried to get brought on as the composer for Twisters, but the production team turned him down ffs. God I would have loved to have him do the soundtrack for Twisters, he would have made that shit amazing.
The few times I did this myself as an amature chaser, when I finally got my chance to chase an active tornado this scene def came back to me. That was a thrill of a lifetime
1:26 that air shot from helicopter completely mesmerized me, along with the music, rewinded this scene a few times on the VHS because of the adrealine it builds up. ✌

This is one of those classic "TNT Movies" that just stays stuck in my memories. Others include U.S. Marshalls, Christine, Maximum Overdrive, and Child's Play (the last 3 being part of "Monstervision")
The way that campers load rocks when it pulls that evasive turn shows how practical that stunt was. Preacher was one of my favorite characters in this movie and this scene sold it. :P
The camera work in this scene, oh man!... In the whole movie, but *this* scene alone... So absolutely phenomenal! It helped tremendously that De Bont was coming from the position of DP himself. The way the shot sways around Aunt Meg's house, to cut to that aerial shot of the Wakita water tower always raises the hair on my hands and neck, together with Mancina's french horn.
This movie has been so influential in my life that I promised myself that I’d grow my hair long when it turned grey. Just like aunt Meg’s hair. It has turned mostly silver and is halfway down my back. I couldn’t be more pleased. My eldest son and I are complete weather nerds and enjoy spooky clouds together. He’s 29 and I am 54. It’s amazing to realize that the movie has been around since before he was born.
my all time favorite movie. use to rent this movie over and over again from the video store. cant tell you how many times ive this this movie over and over again till the point i know like 80% of the movie by heart lol. this is my favorite seen from the movie RIP BILL AND DUSTY

I saw this movie in the Cinedome at Castle Rock, Washington in 1996, the local mondo-screen theatre that served double-duty as the exhibitor of a local Mt. St. Helen's eruption film. Now sadly long-closed. And I finally figured it out....the driver of Rabbit's (Alan Ruck) vehicle is actor Sean Whalen. The "Where have I seen him before....?" bug was strong with this one when I re-watched this movie in re-runs over the years, until I just realized I was picking up the vibe from a film made a year later, "That Thing You Do!" where he played an early fan of The Wonders.
Its a shame we dont get awesome Sci-Fi B rated movies like this anymore with awesome actor's, now b rared sci fi movies are horrible and over filled with bad CGI, 80s, 90s, early 2000's B Rated movies were the best if you wanted to stay home on the weekends, open up some junk food and popcorn, pig out and relax

Oh shit. At 1:08 I just noticed that Allan is having troubles trying to start the truck, while Rabbit is talking to Joe. That same truck is seen in the auto shop when the tornado hits the drive-up theater and the shop building.
Anyone notice the death glare that Aunt Meg gave Melissa, or that not so subtle push she gave her? Yep, she DEFINITELY doesn't like Melissa AT ALL .😁😁😁 Aunt Meg feels as if Melissa is an interloper and trying to steal her precious niece's husband . Which of course didn't work. Jo and Bill got back together. 💜💜💜
It probably did not necessarily have anything to do with Jo. She obviously cares a great deal for Bill and could tell immediately Melissa was not the right one for him, which Bill and Melissa discover over the course of the movie.

Watched this movie for the first time when I was around 7 or 8, and it had planted the sheer love for pickup trucks in my heart.

Man, I loved Twister. I was 13 when it came out and even had a VHS copy. Great times, great movie, great acting and an awesome soundtrack.

Twister was already awesome when it came out, overtime though its just as big a culture phenomenon as Jurassic Park, Star Wars Marvel etc
Fantastic idea to have "Humans Being" go from Mark Mancina's score to the actual Van Halen song.
One thing I feel never got enough love in this film is the music - that score sets the scene perfectly.
