I'm in love with the second method, with the cleaner finish! I was wondering why the seam allowance is needed, since you sew the elastic into the actual seam? Do you think making it closer to dbl the width of the elastic would make a more snug fit once turned? Has anyone tried it? Maybe I'll try and report back!

If you do it tighter, the elastic will buckle inward.
This is a great tutorial! I did notice that it reduced the stretch of my straps by including the elastic sewed in. Is this common?
