How to make Skinny Spaghetti Straps - Turn thin tubes easily with Loop Turner

- EASY Tips and tricks to turn tubes and make and really thin skinny fabric straps ( Rouleau loops)-the methods I show you in this video will definitely make it a lot easier.
It's especially useful if you have arthritis or sore hands.
I make both a less than ¼" ( 5mm) wide strap and a ⅛" ( 3mm) out of a soft stretch satin. These can be used for belt strips, belt loops, button loops, shoulder straps, cording embroidery, and lacing.
This type of strap is perfect for tank tops, lingerie, and slip dresses

These are truly marvelous tips. Thank you very much.
Glad you like them! I hope you try them out and let me know how you go😃
I have to tell you that as I was successfully pulling my first strap off the tube, I heard you say “leave a comment below and let me know how you make your straps”. I started laughing and said out loud to you on my iPad “ I don’t make straps, because I never had anyone show me this technique!” 😂. I am making medieval style dresses for 4 granddaughters and got panicky until I found you on TH-cam. Thank you for such a clear and concise lesson on this technique. I’m no longer afraid! God Bless!
Glad to hear this. There are some things in life that I do not enjoy doing. Pumping gas and making skinny loops! I’m always looking for ways to make it easier. Happy Sewing!
I wish I'd seen this Video 4 hours ago, it would have saved me from a frustration morning. Such a simple task when you're shown how. thank you
You're welcome!
you're brilliant and I low key love you
Thanks so much Jacquelyn🙏😊
One of the best tip videos I have ever watched. Excellent detail, videography and teaching. Thank you!
Wow, thanks! If you belong to any sewing groups, please share. Have a great day!😊
I have never even attempted to make straps before because it seemed so difficult, but this was a major help... these tips are brilliant! Thank you!
You're so welcome! Please use some scraps and practice, practice, practice and you’ll be expert in no time😊
This is BRILLIANT! I got so frustrated with sewing because of having trouble with these sorts of details. Bonus, The guide will also help me teach my 9y/o nieces to sew in a straight line.
I’m so glad to hear this! There are some tricks I just want to share with everyone as they used to frustrate me too. Please share and have a look at some of my other videos. More to come. Have a brilliant day!😊🙏
@@NotchesSewing I've watched 3 already! Thank you for helping me find solutions to problems that made sewing more of a chore than a joy. My confidence in my ability to sew really dipped when I'd get stuck on certain steps.
Thank you for watching. Sewing is all about practice. It’s impossible to sew anything perfectly without practice and learning to control your machine and fabric and not letting it control you! Always test on scraps with anything you’re unsure of. Those you can just toss away instead of unpicking your project and possible damaging your fabric. BUT if you have to unpick, just take a deep breath and speak nicely to your project 😄. Let me know if there’s anything else you need tips on.
Cheers
Thank you for the fantastic tips! And, by the way, your explanations are brief and precise, and I love the tone of your voice. Will come back for more tips! 😍

Great tips! Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Such a great, straight to the point tutorial. Thank you so much for this. I have material (but no pattern...gulp!) to make a simple daywear camisole top. Easy... yeah right!! Procrastination immediately set in with spaghetti straps being the main culprit but I feel a little more confident now. Thank you. I also really warmed to the fact that you've replied to so many comments. Though time consuming, it's an extra very thoughtful touch & a warranted subscription.
Thanks so much for your kind words.🙏. Sure beats being called a joke…🤣Practice on some short scraps and you’ll soon get the hang of it. I actually dislike turning any type of tube so if there is an easier way, I try to share it. Have a look at my Tube turner video for some more hints. Thanks for noticing my replies. You are correct, it is very time consuming but it’s all about community. It you took the time out of your day to comment, it’s the least I can do. Please check out other tutorials on my channel and have fun sewing!😊
Excellent tutorial and very good detailed camera work. Cutting a little hole for the loop turner to latch onto is a great tip. Many thanks

I'm so glad! Really appreciate you letting me know. These vids take so long to produce so I’m glad you find them helpful.🙏😊
This is BRILLIANT
Thanks . It’s really satisfying to turn!😊
This tutorial is pure gold.
I've used tubes with sticks inside before, and I have a loop turner for really thin ones, but I never thought to combine them. I've turned two of my six straps with just a loop turner before rewatching the tutorial. Luckily my reusable metal straw was narrow enough for my knit straps, and this is much, much easier!
So glad you found it helpful. Thanks for watching!😊
Thank you for sharing.
My pleasure! It’s a great feeling when a narrow strap turns out beautifully😊. Thanks for watching. Please share and check out some of my other videos.🙏

Thank you, beautiful soul!!! I just bought my loop turner and I needed an easy way to understand how to use it.
Keep shining and thank you for teaching all of us.
Best regards from Bolivia, South America

Thanks Angie! Please have a look at my other video to turn tubes/straps. I have a few more sewing videos on my channel. All the best in your final year. You will always be learning..😊 Cheers! th-cam.com/video/Ip_no2Mlr5A/w-d-xo.html
I’m watching this video for the third time in a row, because it’s simply that satisfying! The tip of putting the hoop around something stable is gold! I’ll be installing a hook on my sewing table for just this purpose tomorrow! Thanks
Thank you. I hope you love it!🙂
It worked great! Question, does it make a huge difference when using strips not cut on the bias?
yes it will be harder to turn and won’t look as nice
As somewhat of a beginner, spaghetti straps were so intimidating to me until I watched this. Thanks so much!!!
Just keep practicing on scrap fabric and you won’t be intimidated anymore. Thanks for watching😊
Grateful for the Video. Have been holding on to a loop turner for about 5 years without a clue a to how to use it. Learnt it today after watching your video. Thanks again. 🙏🙏
Glad it helped! Loop turners aren't that much fun using them on their own but having the tubes makes it much less painful. Thanks for watching. Please share and have a look at some of my other videos. Cheers!
@@NotchesSewing Yes am watching your other videos now. Love from India. ☺️☺️

OMG!!! Ok, first of all, your voice is so soothing. I was starting to feel like dozing off. Loved it. And Secondly, I needed this tutorial. Thank you So much.
You are so welcome! Thank you for your kind words! After 10 years of my husband encouraging me to make TH-cam tutorials, I finally did this year, I had always put it off because I can’t stand the sound of my voice! Thanks for watching. You’ve made my day😊🙏. I have more videos coming. Cheers
@@NotchesSewing I did it!! I did my 1st. Method scrunchie!! Made it 46 x 7. Loved it. Did it on some (clearance satin fabric cause I knew I’d need it some years later, lol). Sooo easyyy! I made two. Will try the Tshirt scrunchies next. Thank you so much! And I didn’t get tired of hearing your voice every time I had to repeat the tutorial lol. Blessings!!
Sorry just found this reply. I don’t see all the notifications. So glad you made the scrunchie. Not sure if you have seen this one yet but it’s another good one. Cheers and thanks for watching.😊 th-cam.com/video/17REeULcwTI/w-d-xo.html

What? I love you💜
My question is answered ❤️
Great! Which part?😊
You've done a very clear and professional job of explaining how to improve using a Loop Turner. Question: What's the widest strap this loop turner can handle?
Thank you😊. No real limit to how wide a strap you turn with it but there are other ways to turn a tube/strap. Please have a look at my other video th-cam.com/video/Ip_no2Mlr5A/w-d-xo.html
