I had the pleasure to see one of Mike's presentations (in Malaysia, thanks to Mercedes) and I have to say that it was one of the most inspiring events I have been at. Initially, I didn't want to go as it was an invite from the car guys and I don't cover passenger cars. It turned out to be a one of a lifetime session. If I HAD that cash, I would go for this watch, just for the experience that comes with it!
I had the pleasure to meet Mike for a couple of times already and YES the guys is extremely charismatic. Takes him only a few minutes to get full attention... Therefore I understand what you felt and I would join you for the adventure... 😉
+20k€ to get to an adventure with Mike Horn, it makes 380k€ for the 19 guys to organize the thing. I red most of the books of Mike Horn, I didn't know that the guy has became as greedy as that!
@@WatchAdvisor I guess Mike is organising most of the trip with his brother Martin. I just say that 20k€ for an expedition is expensive, unless it is a 6-week trip to climb Everest, in this case that is a bargain. But I have heard somewhere else that is only a few days trip.
@@WatchAdvisor I understand that absolutely all the brands sell "experiences", not products. Quick example is every car commercial. It's about the lifestyle. No one is actually discussing the practical points because it's always an emotional purchase, not a rational. So having said this I see it's ok for Panerai to partner with an adventurer, sponsor sailing competitions or whatever they see fit with their brand image. What I think seems a bit infantile is selling a real experience with a watch. Paying for an adventure goes against the real and poetic meaning of a real adventure, and therefore against the origins of a militar/tool brand. This is like paying to get carried by professionals to the peak of the Himalayas. Being an adventurer is an attitude and I wish Panerai would have had a different approach. PS: This comes from a proud Panerai owner
Magnus Varblomst I hear you! Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. I agree on many things with you, but you must also know that these packages are highly successful and were sold immediately... People seem to like “controlled” adventures 😉 “No risk, no fun” seems to be outdated 🤣
Pang Danny In the end it still is a titanium watch with a complicated case to manufacture... I like the idea to use recycled materials also with the boxes. And in terms of price tag that does not change anything, but demonstrates a certain responsibility towards our nature...
Surely the environmental materials aspect is a marketing gimmick when we are talking about limited luxury watches (especially in this example, where only 19 are made). Anyway, it’s a beautiful cool watch...
I understand you, but the point is that many wealthy people who already own a Patek Philippe seek that kind of particular watch & experience... It is a new trend that will literally explode next... Wait! You will see it ...

Sorry, but these watches are overpriced. There was the scandal with the undecorated lower grade ETA movement. The 30m panereis. Then the vids from ArchyLuxury... I like the link between tactical tool history and luxury watch. But the money horney owners of panerei have made the company not honest, as the military history would signal...
... "undecorated lower grade ETA movement" ... what do you mean??? Panerai 100% uses in-house movements! So what kind of scandal are you writing about? Maybe a faked Panerai?
Adalbert Thomalla Concerning the prices of the Panerai watches I can only assure you that they sell... The brand decided to be positioned in that segment and is successful... So if the watches are too expensive in your opinion I recommend you another brand...
@@WatchAdvisor sure, I agree with that. The market tells the truth. I got a bonus some months ago. I could afford it to buy me Panerai as well. But I went for Tudor Pelagos LHD. The first day I got it, I went to my nearest lake for apnoe diving to check the water proof of my new watch. I don't need to pay 20000 or 40000 to get an apnoe course. I did it my own. #Born to dare :-). Panerai would not describe my character correctly, that's right.
Your Tudor is a GREAT choice! Congratulations! And, of course you can do your own apnoe / diving course/practice ... No need for Panerai! But the point is: Others do and pay for it. So why not asking money for it and selling a watch in the package. If there is demand... offer people the possibility to spend their money...
I love watches like Panerai, from the commercial start in the eighties till today. I hate marketing shit tales like recycled plastic. It is a watch, not a climate vehicle. So, I hate climate bla bla. I hate climate! Lets talk about watches and their interesting mecanicle movements. Christiaan Huygens invent the mecca clock and so watches became better and better. I'm proud hè was a Dutch man. I'm proud on the nation Netherlands.
horrible how many times this man talks not about the watch. horrible how the climate story is penetrated our lives. I live in a non climate area. That saved my live.😉
This is the nicest submersibles Panerai !

A watch with an experience...a new concept
Bobby, which of the three adventures do you like most?
Great video.
Thanks!
You are welcome!
Two fantastic pieces… nice also this strap made in Recycled plastic 👏
You should have seen them in real... I am not sure if you will still find one in retail...
I love Panerai have four of them, I now have 6 of them my complete set.
Thanks for sharing! May your Panerai watches continue to always show you happy seconds, minutes and hours...
But the question everyone here has is: what would it cost to go on an adventure with you Alexander?
Baselworld with Alexander
39000€ limited to 100 people 😂
@@stardust4711 hahahahahaha that's a good one!
Depends on the adventure Michael :-)
WatchAdvisor well, no better man to organize special events for enthusiasts - behind-the-scenes tours of watch facilities perhaps?
What is the case size of these models?
Stephen Rudberg Please read the descriptions of the videos Stephen
47mm
Way too big for my wrist!
Stephen Rudberg 47 mm in fact are a statement! If you have small wrists impossible to wear!
Too big.

Greedy? I don't know what Horn gets end of the day... The amount includes the entire journey and is organised by Panerai...
Haha, Mike himself maybe getting 20%. Think about organizing, booking hotels , flights, food etc...and PR work and on and on..

Xavier H As soon I have more information about those adventures I will post them here
I love Panerai but man this is sad
What’s wrong? Let me know...

IWC Portugieser Automatic
Based on the price tags , Recycled materials seriously?

WatchAdvisor absolutely!
Looking at my Rolex yachtmaster rhodium 40. Can't help but notice the resemblance
That resemblance is pretty hard to imagine - never mind!
29.000 € difference

Nice watch but it’s not worth the asking. I’d rather get a Patek. Holds value and more classy. That’s coming from a guy from Detroit.

Today we know that the package was sold out immediately and that Panerai could have sold double of it...
