Funny People - 1977 - Jamie Uys

Chỉ cần xem series Funny people - 1977 et 1982, God must be crazy, Loss in Desert..cũng đủ hâm mộ đạo diễn này rồi.

    Please note that there are two versions of this film: one featuring Jamie Uys as narrator (off and onscreen) and in both English and Afrikaans, and this one in English with new scenes for the international market. The local version is the funniest and was released to VHS in the 1980s: the DVD version which was available is the international version.

    The skit at 14:15 is staged, the guy that "steals" the steak is a well known actor in south africa, his name is Clive Scott. He later went on to play the character Ted Dixon in the Villagers, a fictional series set at a gold mine in joburg.

  • @captdlourens
    @captdlourens 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I saw this in the Stelbio in Stellenbosch in '77 or '78. Had a good laugh then, but there are at least a few staged acts, among other with Clive Scott and Zach du Plessis. A few of the scenes would be politically and socially totally unacceptable these days. 😀

    • @rustler160

      Well, one should expect that things that were politically acceptable 50 years ago would be different than that what happens to be acceptable today.

      Darem byna halfeeu gelede se prent. Ander tye, ander waardes. Die rolprentmaker Jamie Uys was ook 'n baanbreker in Afrikaanse films en het die klompe en klompe drek van vorige Afrikaanse rolprente met 'n hele aantal grade verbeter. En naderhand hy selfs die wêreldtoneel betree en groot indruk gemaak (soos met The Gods Must Be Crazy). Maar ja, Funny People was seker ou Jamie se swakste prent.
