    One thing that can really help with a pitch is to have a four page treatment of your screenplay. It's double-spaced with only the main characters. The first page is the first act, the next two the second act, and the last page is the third act. If your pitch doesn't go so well verbally, then you've got that nice little four page treatment that really does tell your story.

    Thank you so much for this advice. I'm pitching a script tomorrow to an animation studio boss, he's read the basic script already and their whole team is excited.
    This video helped me a lot, specifically in splitting the Acts proportionately and also sticking to the story and allowing the listener to figure it out instead of trying to explain each character and 'what it means to me'.
    Just great when everything clicks together and someone like yourself has taken his time to upload this great advice, bravo! :)

    This has value and helped me rethink my pitch. However, I truly wish that it wasn't so dark and that the sound had been recorded better. Other than that, there is value for those who are trying to figure out how to prepare their pitch.

    I have the Greatest Action Hero maybe the Greatest Movie that Hollywood has seen for a long time bar none! However, I must learn to pitch it perfectly and sell it maybe sell the sizzle more than the entire movie I have already written the script to let you know. I am still debating about this but I believe you have the best plan to make that happen. God I wish you were my mentor because we would make a fortune! Check You are starting to give me the confidence thank, you

    It makes a lot more sense to reveal the ending. Otherwise they don't know the entire story, so they don't know what they'd be buying until after they bought it, and they also don't want to take the risk of the twist being unsatisfying and undermining the whole film. It needs to be tested on them. I don't tell my friends the ending, but if I was pitching I would.

    Really great advice, but for the logline why not drop the "top secret spy organization" part and just say "Six of the worlds greatest super heroes are recruited to fight -" and so on. Opening with the top secret agency makes it sound like the movie is about the organization rather than the heroes, to me at least.

      Mannn great question because outside of the avengers this helps me a lot cause I thought something wasn’t right about my log-line… and taking out some words can change the feel to everything while still saying the same thing, just more clear and not changing a thing… thanks thanks thank you

    Like about Pitch video, but question is remained at the same place
    Script is a basic building bloc of a project and still the pitch video maker do not have any advantage of their hard work, if a pitch video selected it must be paid or must be selected for the big FilmFestival in a Pitch Video Catagories, a Script Writer need the encouragement, I also made a PitchVideoForAFM 2013 the world's most popular and prestigious platform
    I got encouragement, even then I am waiting how to get start it into a full feature film.

Thank you very much for your insider tips and fantastic insight! my hero is a Global Terrorist battling super hero... a Super Ninja with EM Powers named SHURIK`EN it rhymes with Hurricane. I have already a rough draft of the script. I had the title as SHURIK`EN the Super Ninja but I think it will be more powerful just as SHURIK`EN!

    Excuse me 🤨 How is achieving quoting "can there be anything left in the movie? I think I've seen the whole thing?" a great job?! You said to put in all the good stuff, but I think it's the exact opposite because that's exactly why I hate trailers these days. For one, if it really makes me feel like I've already seen the whole thing, why would I still wanna go watch it? TBH it would make me go WTF? they have shown too much! The other thing is, sometimes when they actually showed all the good stuff in the trailer, then if I did end up watching it I often find it disappointing. Because! like you said I've already seen all the good stuff! There is nothing else in the movie that could top that. To sum up, I'd try to avoid watching trailers that are over a minute long and just stick with the teasers.

    • @JayBobJayBob
      @JayBobJayBob 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey fool, he was not pushing trailers.
      He was pushing the structure of trailers, good trailers that have all that information in order to teach you how to craft your pitch to sell a potential buyer on the complete idea of the story.
      Otherwise, if he were just talking about trailers, I would agree with you. But he wasn’t, so your comment was off target.

    wait what? your saying a trailer that spoils a film so by the end you feel "why do I need to go see it, I've already seen it" is good? how is that good? you want people to go to the cinema not to just see the trailers and be like "meh seen all the major plot points and it even tells me what the climax is so don't need to go and pay to see it now " seriously!
