This is amazing advice. It's absolutely right, once you get talking about how you came up with it, you just feel assured that you know exactly what you're talking about. Plus it just psyches you up for the pitch... yes, my story is awesome, I love it and so here's why you could too... Would love to see this whole lecture but can't find it : (
Waow! merci pour ton aide Michael, je vais l'utiliser et je vais baser ma structure de pitch comme ca. J'aime beaucoup l'idée d'expliquer d'ou me vient l'inspiration de mon histoire. Wow! thanks for your help Michael, I'm going to use it and I'm going to base my pitch structure like that. I really like the idea of explaining where my inspiration comes from.
Thank you, I was just sitting down to pen my pitch and had thought I would start with what you suggested, but wasn't sure - but watching this confirmed it.
I'd never start a pitch like this. Title. Log line. Hollywood mix like this film with that film. Then details of the story or characters if they wanted them.
I learned more in this 5 minute video than in taking any screenwriting or filmmaking classes for years.

old gem
2015 WAS SIX YEARS AGO OMG
Brilliant!
But do agents really care how you came up with the idea? At least at the beginning of the pitch?
Genius!
Thank you sir.

hmm... I have to pitch a project that I didn't come up with ... that first sentence will do me no good ;)

tbh the mix thing is the worst thing one could do, especially a beginner. cause it makes your idea sound secondary.
@@maryharutyunian7302 I just heard the same thing.
Thanks a lot
