Yes, it's a hook-line-and-sinker of a bassline. Not unlike sooo many others from the days of real music. If you research dance tunes from about 1975-2000, you'll discover many more bass-heavy gems.

@@CannonsTheBand I especially love the work of master bass guitarist Nile Rodgers. Check out the bassline in 'I Want Your Love' & 'Lost in Music'. Not many peeps know that Modjo's 'Lady' from 2000 directly samples the bassline from Chic's 'Soup For One'. It's an exact copy!
The 1st time I heard this song 'Fire For You', I honestly thought it was a tune from 'back in the day' as it has that cool old-school bass that is all but gone from current so-called music (nerve-shredding, autotuned, vocal-fry garbage).
Hopefully the Cannons can help to swing the pendulum back to quality music with soul, producing songs that will, in about 40 years, elicit the same stunned response from teenagers hearing 'Stayin' Alive' for the 1st time. Did you see those videos? No one's laughing at the Bee Gees today.

No, the sexiest song ever written was "More, More, More" by The Andrea True Connection....this one is an easy second place. The original 1976 song by Andrea True (who was a real life porn star too) seems lost in the mist of time....but it has been sampled in modern pop songs many times. I think Cannons should do a remake of it....it would be awsome with Michelle's voice.

Synthwave. It started in the early 2010s with Chromatics, Kavinsky, Electric Youth and others. Cannons came around pretty early on. Movies like ‘Drive’ and shows like ‘Stranger Things’ have helped turn this into a musical revolution.

That’s where I first heard it! Netflix! I used my sound hound app to figure out who the artist was, and went and bought it on iTunes. It makes me bawl my eyes out cuz I feel every word deep in my soul... I relate this song to my beloved best friend, Chewie; my chihuahua, who passed away on Christmas Eve. “I was on fire” for him. Then when she says, “I’m leavin without you, love, I have no choice”; it’s like those were Chewie’s last words to me, although he couldn’t talk of course... I love this song, the tears and emotions r worth it. Yes it makes me sad, but it makes me think of my sweet, loving, Chewie boy... I hope he is at peace and I get to see him again when I get to Heaven.

She's a year old but spent 2 1/2 months in NICU and before that my ex and I had a fucked up miscarriage. And we were engaged. I dated several people before her but never put the idea down of being with her. She was my best friend. We got together during the pandemic and conceived our kid with COVID. It was everything to muster up the strength for that evening because I slept for a week afterwards. Now I have a roommate who doesn't get my depression and my job is across the street from where I work. It's fucking purgatory. And my ex doesn't give a fuck.
