There's so much pitch correction and other effects on the voice it could be sung by Barry White and sound the same.
The saddest thing about modern music is that the truly talented singers can't stand out. The record labels pitch correct and over-process everyone, regardless of how well they perform.
What we're left with is simply boy and girl dolls on stage whose only real role is looking pretty. We might as well embrace AI music, it's not any more fake than what humans are churning out now.

I’d literally never heard of Cannons until yesterday, when Tidal decided that “Fever Dream” was an album that I might like to hear. Now, in the space of 24 hours, I’m completely hooked.

yeah, I actually get a New Order (new wave) vibe from this band, which leads me to believe they will indeed surge just as New Order condensed multiple elements of previous decades into something really special.
Cannons is listed as synth wave, but like new wave, it's the music of an electronic synth era which will never die and always swings back into popularity ... in waves.

You nailed the description. When I first discovered them and was explaining why I lived them so much I said “ They check very box - indie alt, 80s/new wave, lounge, meets beachy and shoegazey. They have tracks that incorporate Spanish and reggae aesthetics. As a native of so cal, they have the quintessential southern California vibes.” They are perfection and one of my very favorite bands. Cannons is one of those bands that brings back memories of driving through the city looking at monumental buildings, avoiding potholes, watching for pedestrians, driving pas a cool brewery or bar and saying to myself I’m gonna try that place next. The sunsets on the Kennedy getting out of the city. Its chaos its busyness I miss it all so much but I needed to get out. Now all have is memories.

I have not heard of this wonderful group known as the Cannons until today and they are really quite unique. Beautiful retro 80s synth pop vibe on "Hurricane" with a modern day sexy lead singer in a little red riding hood Cape. This is the kind of music that should be riding high on the billboard hot 100 and be played on the radio its futuristic pop.

Man, so rare to see such a perfect mix of musical genius and star power. Cannons just have IT. Ryan and Paul just make such clean, awesome tunes that pay homage to many great artists, all while putting their own spin and flair into it. Then you add the amazing vocals and that intangible star power presence that Michelle has and BOOM. What a combination. 🔥🔥🔥
