  • I was invited to go gigging from my friends airboat out on the gulf coast of Florida. A lot of rain recently had the water dirty, but we made the best of it.

    That looked like an absolute blast! Them gigs are not your average frog gig , they looked like they could stick a huge fish and hold it , great video brother, god bless

      Yes those are sea Striker gigs, very well-built but very expensive too. They hold fish quite well especially with the extra Barb's that I welded

    Hi, Andrew! So this is gigging! Like I said. I have a lot to learn about fishing in Florida. You have to show me how that device works in daylight. Maybe you could do that next Sunday night during the livestream.

    • @TKOutdoors
      @TKOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching! It's a gig on the end of an aluminum pole. You simply hand thrust it towards the fish

      @@TKOutdoors I would never catch a fish. I would fall in the water trying to jab the biggest one I saw. I bet I could have done it in my younger days. Best kept secret-I used to go fishing every night after supper.

    Are those air boats like they use in the everglades?

    • @TKOutdoors
      @TKOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Airboats come in many different shapes, sizes and powers. You'll see all kinds here and down south.

      @@TKOutdoors when I think of air boat (ones with a airplane blades on the engine).

    • @TKOutdoors
      @TKOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, that's an airboat. Some have airplane engines, some have automotive engines. Small hulls, big hulls ect. All built for different situations.

    Man I could tell you had a blast fishing at night. At least somebody was able to go out and catch some fish. My coworker the other day came by and pick me up since the weather was warm up in the 60s we went to the river but the current was too fast and fishing wasn't good so we went to four ponds and they was still Frozen. But at least I had a good time getting out of the house. I just feel bad that my coworker had to help me out a lot and take care of me. But you got plenty of fish. Just let me know When can I order my fish platter.

    • @TKOutdoors
      @TKOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well I'm glad to hear that you at least you got out of the house, a bad day on the water is better than a good day at work.

      @@TKOutdoors yes indeed it is. I just wish I wasn't wheelchair forward though but I had a good time. I'm lucky to have a buddy who's willing to come and life me out of my wheelchair to hang out and have fun regardless of what my condition is.

      Oh yesssss! They are excellent for fish tacos, probably my favorite. They have the perfect texture to pan blacken and hold together.

    If a mullet hits you in the head it hurts. Gigging is fun, haven't done it in a while, flounder is the species everyone is after arounf SE Georgia coast

    • @TKOutdoors
      @TKOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Flounder gigging is popular around here too, the weather the last couple of months has not been good for it. A lot of rain and very windy
