You make a positive morning for me everyday!
Aww..wonderful! Glad you had a great day and met two others to do the Sierras! Glad you formed a tramily! Completely understandable, you want to enjoy the moments as they are happening and whatever you decide to share with us is fine! I am happy with whatever you choose to share with us! 😊
Your happiness is overflowing. Your sensitivity & respect for the others is wonderful.
So glad you had a great day! There were a few days you seemed kinda bummed so it's nice to see that radiant smile return full force 😁. A tramily for the Sierras is a very good thing. Happy trekking! 🥾
I'm glad you're happy hiking with such nice people. The nice trail magic came at the right time and they were so generous.
Julianne, sometimes what happens on the trail needs to stay on the trail. Lol. Looked like a great day. Views were fantastic. Such beautiful country. Awesome trail magic. That wind was definitely fierce. Glad there will be 4 of you in the Sierra. Safety in numbers. Hopefully you were able to go to sleep shortly after the video. Take care. Stay safe. See you tomorrow.
Love your gooooood morning!
Rattlesnake crossin'
I would be looking forward to the trees as well. So glad you are joining a tramily that matches your hiking style and personalities. Keep on keepin on RR.
Getting your new Tramily sorted out is good for the Sierra. The bench was a 4. You were being generous in giving it more.
Another amazing day on the trails, thanks for taking us along with you!
Started back at the beginning and trying to catch up on where you are. Love the videos and be you, everyone else is taken. Hiking PCT 2025 and would love to have been on trail with you
Sounds like a good crew has formed. Never seen anyone film that section with all the Joshua trees. Happy hiking
Great to see you're really happy again .
I am!
So beautiful on the trail today. I'm happy to hear you've got a minimum group of for to hike the Sierra, it's much safer-and more fun-with a group of matched individuals. Have a great hike!
You seem to be an awesome person Julianne.
Glad you are happy and with a tramily that hikes as you do. 25+ miles a day, that’s crazy good.
You inspire at 65 yrs old. I am doing my hiking thru
You on the cdt. I watched you and others on the AT
I am about 30 minutes from Max Patch visiting my daughter. I went up there and the 360 views were awesome.
A perfect Tramily for you who push the miles and are willing to do challenging things and not be afraid!
How dare you end with a cliff hanger 🤣
You will be finished by the end of June at this rate.😂. So happy for you and happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
Roadrunner your videos are awesome and very enjoyable. I don’t know if you have seen more rattlesnakes than anyone else or you just show them more. Anyway the rattlesnakes seem plentiful on this hike 😊😊😊
Wow... what a great day with your tramily! Makes sense to keep some things on the trail. Happy trails!
I'm with you on hiking and camping in the trees.
I'm glad you found people to hike with through the high Sierra. The southern end of the Sierra Nevada is at Tehachapi Pass, so you're in the Sierra now. Congrats.
I've been trying to understand these lines of where the Sierra's start and end. I've been enjoying them all my life and was surprised to learn, from other PCT vlogs, that the northern line of the Sierras is around Donner Pass when there is a lot of beautiful, mountainous scenery north of there.
@@timmethy The Sierra Nevada, which are fault block mountains, have their northern limit where the Cascade Range begins. The Cascades are volcanic.
The Sierra go all the way north to Susanville, Chester, and Fredonyer Pass. For the PCT that's when the trail crosses state route 36/89 near Chester. By then, you're entering Lassen National Forest.
Enjoying your progress. The long days would be intolerable alone so it's fantastic to have made friends.
You guys are doing such great mileage!!! Beautiful scenery as well!!
Thanks so much!
Love being in the woods too! Oh wow! What a water cache. I don't think I've ever seen one that large. Beautiful sunset! One hour later, "Ya, absolutely!" You should Google/TH-cam Pharrell Williams "Happy" song. I think it fits nicely for your day. :)
Hey 1st for the like’s, you are doing great keep it up.really enjoying your journey because you are enjoying it so much. 🙏
You’re awesome. You make me eagerly anticipate my PCT journey more than any other. Thanks for sharing.
As I sit in my office working at my "day" job I fantasize about doing what you are doing. I'm enjoying your videos. I'm still planning on doing the PCT SOBO in 2016 so your videos inspire me to get out there.
Having good luck which is well deserved if you ask me! Nice to meet cool folks that you can really hit it off with and make some good plans to enjoy together- got a good feeling about this! Thanks for another great post ❤️🧘🏼🌱🌿🙏
👏👏👏. 🥾🥾 hike on and continue on creating more beautiful memories. 🙏🏻
Tent sleeping
Love your videos, thanks for taking the time to make them! It’s been 10 years since I hiked the PCT, really enjoying seeing the trail again through your camera lens ❤
Great vlog today. I always like that you ask if you can film folks. Looks like a good matchup of hikers. You guys will have a blast in the Sierra's . happy trails Julianne
Thanks for making this so interesting and informative to watch! You tell a great story! Thanks for showing what hiking these trails are all about. Trail on!
In so many way, a great day! In summary: @6:12 … That Smile‼️
You’re so blessed by a new tramily!
Congrats on finding your new tramily--one better suited to your style of hiking.
Thank you
How's Bishop?
Timing seems like you went out Kearsarge. On second thought, probably Horseshoe
Glad you found other power hikers
🌞
Bravo!🌻💛
Glad you had wonderful day and met some more people to hike with.😊
Good eve always look forward to seeing your vids 👍👍✌️🤙❤️
I am so happy for you!
You are doing awesome. My husband and I love watching your journey. We are hoping to do it in a couple years 😀
What a day be well
Good for you roadrunner! You are awesome
Thanks!
Wow, thank you
Yay! Pork chops, my favourite 😋 seems some strange trail magic, but welcome I'm sure!
A new tramily, that's great! 🥰
5:37 JOSHUA TREES!!
LETS GO!
Glad you found a tramly that can keep up with you. Knew you would.
You look really happy and thrilled with you're new Tramily! I'm so glad to see that. Keep on keeping on!!! You've totally got this! Thanks so much for sharing your journey with us. BTW, have you met Frozen from Outdoor Adventures yet?
- Shybee
Yay! Like the mileage. 2 Rattlesnake day. Are you keeping track of how many you see on the trail?
Can't wait until you get to my neck of the woods. I'll try and arrange some trail magic.
Thanks for taking us along your hike! Question - would you share how you got around the snakes? One of them looked ready to attack.
I walk around now
We weee supposed to be in trail this year but had to postpone. We are loving your videos.
What size is your pack? I think it’s an Atom bag? I have the Atom+ 40 from 2020 that I love, but think I will want a larger one for the Sierra. Can’t wait to see you in the Sierra!! Love your new Tramily!
It's an absolute joy to watch your videos, and you are right, some things should only be shared between you and your hiking buddies. Your videos just keep getting better and better and I'm happy with whatever you decide to share. So, so happy you found a new tramily and your infectious smile is back!
Wow big rattlesnake lookout !
Hiking search and rescue insurance from Garmin is $40/yr for $100K coverage. Your travel companions can also get it via your account for $40/yr each. When you see rattlesnakes there are more you do not see. A helicopter rescue with antivenom would cost well over $50K unless they offer free rescue.
I have that insurance thanks to you reminding me 🤗
I don't necessarily disagree with the advice, but in most all situations search and rescue is free. I don't know why people think it costs money. It's just like if you get in a car wreck and the paramedics up show and treat you. They don't bill for that. It's paid for with tax money, or with volunteer help. That’s why that insurance is so cheap. There is almost zero chance you will ever need it.
@@MaxZomboni Dixie had a helicopter rescue in the Sawtooth Wilderness (Idaho). It cost her $60K. Her Garmin SAR coverage was $50K, and it paid the claim in about 3.5 months. She owed the $10K balance plus the hospital bill, which is not covered by Garmin. You need regular health insurance for the hospital bill. Currently, Garmin insurance covers $100K. Well worth the $40/yr for any non-free SAR. With automatic renewal you have the coverage if/when needed. That's why Dixie was covered for $50K at the time. A big help.
@@John_Stewart Dixie is fake. Everything on that channel is fake. She hasn't even done a thru hike in over 5 years, if she ever did one. There was a film crew there from German to film the entire incident including the helicopter taking off with her in it. How did that happened? It was just fake video to promote that insurance. Like I said, I'm not necessarily disagreeing with about the insurance. It's just not as important as they make it out to be. But if it gives you peace of mind, go for it. It's just $40 a year. 👍
"Roadrunners on steroids" is a fitting name for your new tramily.
Culture today in thru hiking is of tramilies. For better or for worse. Even on the CDT. The solo hiking breed is fading away.
Have fun with whatever you do.
😂 Tell that to "The World's Most OKish Thru Hiker", Matt (Masochist). He will talk the ears off anyone he runs across on trail, really social guy, but he prefers to hike and camp solo, unless Jen (Taters) can join him. He's currently hiking the American Discovery Trail, going east to west. Last summer he and Taters did a source to sea paddle on the Mississippi. First church of the masochist hikes is his YT channel. Between Roadrunner and Masochist, I get to hike vicariously almost all year long. Life is good!
That's true. Jupiter also hiked thousands of miles solo, until he met Sprocket... ;-)
@@catpatrick3838 Of course there are examples of solo hikers. Myself included. However, it is a drop in the ocean of tramilies out there.
Lookout is actually rocking the CDT solo (channel 'Adventure together')
Goob's Adventures. I don't think anybody spends more time by them selves then that guy does. Right off the bat the only time I can recall him spending any time with other hikers, is when he is eating meals, either in town or on the trail. He probably only camps with other people when he has to.
They destroy desert tortoise habitat with wind farms and to make up for it they put up a sign talking about how desert tortoises are endangered
Wondering if you're going to meet up and hike with Lil Chap again?
No! I don’t think so.
Why would she want to hike with Debbie downer again? That was the whole issue.
Some people (like the hikers in today's vid) are charged up about doing big(ger) miles, pushing themselves and are excited about taking on challenges.
Others are like a cold wet blanket, always bringing negativity, doubting themselves and wanting to take the safe(r) route.
If you're a strong hiker and have ever found yourself around the latter, even worse, feeling partially obligated for some odd reason, once free you never go back.
It's really the reason the very strongest hikers are solo. Not many people can do 25-30 mpd, much less get along if they find another doing those kinds of miles.
Why do you think this group were previously all by themselves? And most likely, will resume their independence after Sonora?
@@larkangel6593if you only knew!
@@larkangel6593 As a Swiss guy, i had to google 'Debbie Downer' first 🤪
725 tramily
I would have walked right by the snake!!!!!!
Always enjoyed your videos, but becoming unwatchable. Please look into a microphone wind sock......... It would help your videos a ton! Thanks for making them!
You're older than education but you're not older than Joshua trees if you've been vaccinated or immunizing your life and you know how valuable this information is
Great video but way too short. Please don't become just a highlighter TH-camr.
You look really happy and thrilled with you're new Tramily! I'm so glad to see that. Keep on keeping on!!! You've totally got this! Thanks so much for sharing your journey with us. BTW, have you met Frozen from Outdoor Adventures yet?
