  • Wolf Creek Dam below Lake Cumberland is an amazing fishery! Sturgeon, trout, small and largemouth, and striped bass can all be found in abundance! Check it out as we have an INSANE day of fishing and literally pull on fish all day!

I can’t wait till I’m 70 years old hopefully and these sturgeon are 6-7 feet long. I mean… I can wait because years are precious…. But our children’s children will hopefully inherit an amazing fishery. Hats off to the Fish and Wildlife Services. They really are amazing!

They really are. I do hope I get to see them get bigger during my stay on earth!

Your buddy got tired of watching you catch all the bass at about the 30:00 min mark and decided to spot jump you.😂 it never fails! The best thing that can happen when you run into this is you go fish his old spot and start catching more fish there. 😂

Haha ol Jeff was slaying sturgeon all day so he had me there! He wanted a bass or two and I told him to swap me!

    Crap dude, that's awesome!
I need to travel south instead north for good fishing

Man, try this place at least once. It's renowned for its fishing.

@@thesaltygoogan Yup, need to go to Cave, Grayson, Cumberland, and Dale Hollow. Instead of Salt Fork, Indian, Kiser , and East Harbor, Lake Erie.
You need to try Lake Vesuvius of Rt 93 far south of Jackson Ohio with the Kayak 🛶. Small electric motor only. Pulled a 5lb bass out of a bunch of lily pads in the back with a cheap Ozark Trail Frog lol

If fished that same spot on a warm day back in February but the spickets were wide open and the water was so turbulent. It was like trying to catch fish in a white water rafting river. No bites on any lure I threw.

Definitely a summer and fall bite when we go there. Spring either need a boat or try further down bottom bouncing minnows!

One beautiful day down there…. A friend of mine and I were “snoopy pole” fishing. What we call ultra light. I caught 35 trout. None really big. Browns and Bows. My buddy could not get not even one bite at all. Not even one. I tried switching spots. Tried tying his hook on and baiting it for him. Casting for him. Everything I could. Switching rods. He could not get a bite. It was the craziest thing I ever saw. And I was absolutely slaying them. It made no logical sense at all. It still just baffles me. All I can think is that he had some kinds of smell on him or electrical energy that the fish could pick up on. He is color blind but what the hell difference could that make? It completely defied all scientific and mathematical probability and logic. It literally blows my mind to this day. 🤯

My papaw had a similar story with his buddy one time. Eventually though they narrowed it down to him using 6lb line and his buddy using 10lb. It was trout fishing so of course once they figured out the line shyness of trout it got better! Thanks for sharing though!

When the schedule says one or less, that's when I go. 0 running is ok, but it becomes sight fishing.

    What lures would you recommend?

    • @thesaltygoogan

Bobby garlands, 3 inch slugo, crankbait, jerk baits. I would throw nightcrawlers for Sturgeon.

Check the outflow. If it's super fast then don't throw on bottom. Work current breaks or throw light rigs designed for drifting and just keep re casting.
