Good afternoon Mr Abraham,I would like to apologize if i spell ur name incorrect, Anyway I would like to thank you for all your input as well as out put on each an every videos on overlanding since the build of the Jimny until the Hilux (Roam 2.0),it's very much inspiring and educating,Just wanna say keep on the gud work, keep on to release new overlanding videos.Lets keep on exploring the beauty and the diversity of the wilderness, coz that's our second sweet Home from the the Main Home.
Thanks for the review. Side note, the 12 volt outlet is great for using devices such as small fridges, TVs and portable stereos. It saves power by doing so because of less power conversion, compared to using the AC outlet.
Great video! I have the Jackery 1000 and it has become my most favorite tool. Can run a whole campsite off of that. Got an electric kettle that runs 1000watts and in a couple minutes can boil water. I don't have the solar panel because when I drive I just plug it into the truck to charge it and the 1kwh battery will go several days anyways without issue. I do run my fridge and on cold trips I use it to power my electric heated blanket. The blanket can be powered for about 8-10 hours and the fridge in the most extreme condition it still ran it for about 3 days. Very reliable battery and worth every penny.
Superb content Adrian. I was weighing up my options for a lithium power pack for camping. Your reviews certainly aided my purchase. All the best with your Namibian trip. Both rigs look amazing.
What Adrian forgot to mention about the Jackery is the auto shutdown that it has, when it's concerning compact fridge and freezers. Lets just say if you don't use the jackery often and is connected to the 12volt fridge. It shutdowns and the fridge turns off and later spoils the food.
@@RoamOverlanding Not to sound mean to other people. For what you use is almost a constant thing so for interest sake, people thinking it's a permanent solution to load shedding, it is not UNLESS you have kids who constantly open and closing the fridge...lol. Although in my opinion, jackery south africa should remove the 2 prong plug for the 3 prong plug. Too bad we have to wait 1 or 1.5 years for the jackery 1500/2000 flag ships. By that time jackery probably have the new 2500/3000 series
The Jackery 1000 is available now I believe. I don’t use my 500 to run my fridge; I use my vehicles dual battery system for that. I mainly use my Jackery for ancillary devices, computers, charging up electronics etc. I’ll do some of my own testing on the fridge stuff and see what results I get; and pass the feedback on to the team at Jackery. I love their products so would love to see functional improvements like that
A good account of this piece of kit and thanks for disclosing the fact that you received it as a freebie from Jackery (some folk don't). What is going on? I can only find two reviewers who have actually purchased this item. Most are gifted to them by Jackery. I find it difficult to beleive that every review is totally unbiased and sooo....I have spent some hard earned cash and ordered a Jackery 500 based on all the extremely satisfied Jackery customer's reviews. Lets hope it is as good as folk say it is or Jackery will get blasted. I am not entirely comfortable with this method of marketing.
It’s a great piece of kit, still happy with it years down the line! It works almost every week for something; whether power outages, camping or working remotely. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised 👏🏻
Would you mind compare this jackery to Ecoflow River 600 Max? From some research, that one looks way better value for that money, but you surely understand it better :)
Do you think running your fridge from the 1000W version whilst charging the jackery via 12V socket in your car while driving will be better than a dual battery system?
I dont think it will be better, but I think it might be possible. I am going to be running some tests like this soon with my 500w on the budget build series we are doing. a Dual battery systems reliability and charge rate is just insane in comparison the jackery. You can get a 120AH Lithium like I am using and a Redarc 25A DC-DC charger for about R12k these days which is insanely impressive. But the portability of a Jackery is also great that you can use it in your house during loadshedding. I just need to play with it first before I can recommend you head out and just rely on a jackery
While we appreciate the review and the 5% discount its still more expensive then the flexopower555. which has more wattage. replaceable battery. 2 x single phase plug outlets standard sa and includes a type c. Jackery has fallen behind and needs to bring that price down to below R8k
I think what makes the Jackery a bit pricier is the safety standard testing that it goes through, which not many other products end up going through. At the end of the day I dont control pricing; I just test out the products and give my feedback; maybe one day ill try the 555 and see how that one goes; but for now I am very happy with this one.
@@RoamOverlanding oh I see, to my eyes it seemed like your B cam had some of that effect, but it must've been my mistake. Keep it up, really dig your stuff.
I bought my Jackery because of your previous video. Love my Jackery.

Hey Rick; never had that happen to me before. But thanks for sharing the info, I will be sure to keep an eye out for it incase it happens.

Great review Adrian.... Jackery has a good rep.... Def on our list👍🏻
Great review of a great product. Thanks Adrian.
Glad you enjoyed it
Man I really like your vlogs- all the best from Poland - waiting for more and more ! :)
Thanks a ton!
I think one of your next videos should be "Overlanding essentials".
Awesome review here, thanx so much. When you upgrade to the 1000 Watt big boy please raffle off the old one to us, I will gladly buy a 50 bux ticket
Sometime can you do a video on how to engage 4WD on a hilux(selecting from 2H,4H,4L) it will be very much helpful

Hi. Akhona from tte future (27 june 2021). You have not posted in 3 weeks. Are you okay?
I’m okay buddy; just the vehicle is not. Been just trying to sort it out, will make a video updating everyone soon I hope!
Great review. Thanks

If a person lives in an apartment complex, is the fan that loud that the neighbours would hear it?
Nope
how loud it is when you charge it? I read it was disturbingly loud.
It is quite loud, but its a robust unit, I have had it for a couple years now and its still going strong!
Good review!
Hey buddy you ok? Its been a while since a new video
Alive and well 👌🏻 vehicle has had a rough time though
Glad to hear you are oke, but tell us what happened to the Hilux
I have been concerned myself. Happy to hear that Roam is still alive and kicking.
When Is the next video???
Hey, does anyone know what happened to Adrian? 2 months without a post is unusual for him. I hope he's ok.
I’m here bud! All is alright. The Hilux has been undergoing some stressful changes, and we are almost done with it all; should see you again soon!
@@RoamOverlanding Stressful changes? That does not sound good. But good to hear you’re ok.
Can you use it for tv
For sure
What is wrong? Why are we not seeing new videos?
He is ok but unfortunately the vehicle is not, should be posting an update video soon.

Hey, you should consider getting some NDs so your shutter speed isn't cracked as it looks in this video. Solid content!
My c100 has ND’s already and films at 180degree shutter so it must just be compression form TH-cam or something in the tender
