If you press the display button for about 10 seconds it should reset itself and your readings will be corrected. I know you don't want to carry both of them but you should reconsider. During the winter months you could use the 1000 to charge the 500 if you happen to have cloudy days, this will extend the capacity of the 500 while using your diesel heater.. Also you could use the 500 to charge the 1000 and extend its capacity .. Basically you can extend the capacity of both batteries . I do it all the time.

I have a smaller unit 290 as a test. I am so happy that I didn’t invest in a bigger unit. It was running so far until it stopped charging. I reset it still small issue. I contacted Jackery because they said their battery is cover for 10 years. After sending all the required documents they ask. They gave me the same instructions I have been doing. The closed my ticket without any result. I do agree with you it’s not what the hype said. Buyer beware.

I’m done with Jackery myself. My 1000 quit taking a charge from any source. While I’ve owned it for three years, that’s approximately 12-15 camping trips. Jackery must not watch TH-cam much or they would know there are a lot of us switching to BLUETTI. The battery they use is junk and only last a few hundred (500) charging cycles.

I feel your frustration. My Bluetti won't run my Hcalory diesel heater. Trying to figure out what to do myself. Good luck bud.

That’s the problem with most power stations first they have only 1 12v accessory plug and it Isn’t that powerful. They are all more directed at the 110ac side of things and not the 12 V camping over landing side of it. They need to wake up and make models that are more directed at 12 V power and accessories.

The 1000 is on sale now. Just ordered one prior to this video. I don’t plan to use mine for a diesel heater though. Hopefully it works for the coffee maker and possibly a small air conditioner.

I just looked through all my kitchen appliances and there are at least 10 things it will run. Nice to know these days when I'm surprised to have electricity still. But I tried everything out and I can survive pretty well as long as I have sun and water and food. lol

With my Jackery Explorer 500 in order to extend the battery, I purchased a 100ah 12.8v 1280Wh LifeP04 battery that has a cycle life of 4000 for $329.00. I added a socket adapter that I plug the Jackery car charger adapter in to keep the Jackery 500 topped off with. I use a 200w portable solar panel and a Mppt charge controller for charging the battery and much cheaper than buying the Jackery 1000 with only a 4th of charge cycles…

You got a great deal with the Jackery Explorer 1000. When I had trouble buying from Amazon, they contacted the 3 party and had me communicate with them by email. I am surprised that Jackery customer service did not and would not have some explain the situation you were getting. I would consider the Jackery Explorer 1000 because it is campable of powering a 700w microware for warming up coffee or canned food.

@@davidleung5154 it was a crap situation with the 1000 not pulling its weight. I did decide to keep both units. So now I just use the 500 to run my diesel heater and the 1000 runs everything else.

I am so sick of my jackerys not charging and turning off with full charges (day or night) and then not charging. I also have their e2000 battery packs and they disconnect. Fix is to unplug everything, reset, and the setup from scratch. 10 or 15x a month. Jackery also tells you NOT to reset your units lol. Make up your f'n. I love how support never answers and email support takes 2 days and you have to send them videos of everything they tell you do to before they will help.

I am super happy with my 500 just wanted better charging and battery life. I've considered building out a bigger 12v setup but just can't do it. All that stuff is just super pricey and I don't have much space left.

I was watching another video and they tested the jackerys. The old style has a different kind of battery and only went to say 1000 watts. The new one the same wattage gives out like 4000 because it has a new kind of battery. Hope this helps. They suggested to Jackery to get rid of the old style or make a big point to tell people that it puts out less than the new style.

    • @nextweeksadventure
      @nextweeksadventure  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@fishingfreckles yeah I think Jackery found the issue because they released a new 1000 series. Unfortunately those of us with the old one are stuck.

try turning on the light on the 1000 before shutting it off. I saw a video of a mystery with the generator light changing something with the power. Why not just see as an experiment? I have one as well so I'm curious about it. The guy I watched had some lights plugged into the generator and they were pulling some watts but when he turned on the generator light, it kept the lights that were plugged into it on but it stopped pulling watts from them. ( At least on the display.) He had no idea why so maybe you do?

I'll have to look into this. I've had mine glitch out something like this before. Display acts like its not powering or charging anything but it is. I've just adapted into using both of my Jackerys now so I guess it worked out.

These Jackery models use lithium ion batteries, vs the LiFePO4. Personally, I'd dump them both and get a Bluetti or look into building your own battery system.

Has Jackery improved their batteries because last I knew their batteries only lasted 500 times at full charge before they drop below 80% and they drop down from that point.

@@nextweeksadventure The new Jackery 1000 v.2 that was just released will charge 4000 times before they drop below 70%. It comes with a 1070WH LiFePO4 battery (1500W AC Output).
