Hi Jazz - Thank you so much for sharing your story and being so vulnerable! Not quite sure how I landed here today, but I think it was meant to be... I too was hit by a car while on a bicycle in 2017. I fractured a vertebrae, broke my foot in 2 places, had several lacerations/road rashes and a meniscus tear. Spent aprox. 10 days in the hospital and had spinal fusion surgery. I was wearing a helmet and it cracked in half, but honestly, if it wasn't for the helmet I wouldn't be here today. The guy who hit me was on his cel phone. I can completely relate to your learnings, particularly to what your T-Shirt said: Be Kind to One Another. Create a positive mark in the world and a virtuous cycle of kindess. Also, be grateful. Life is too fragile and be grateful for all of the experiences and people (family, friends, co-workers, teammates or strangers) we influence or meet everyday. I am so sorry about your accident, wow, you are so lucky that you were wearing a helmet and although you had a very difficult recovery - are in a great headspace now. I am grateful to connect with you and for you sharing your story with me. I wish we could all be more kind to each other. Sometimes I feel like I live on a different planet than others as my mindset and perspective has changed immensely after the accident. Glad to connect, you made my day with this comment.
