- This is something I never wanted to film because I hate talking about this part of my life and I hate for people to feel sorry for me. I felt really uncomfortable filming this and pouring my heart out to you guys and being so serious because I HATE being serious I love being how I am online, being rebellious, loud mouthed, fun, happy to be around sortve vibe, and sharing this really took alot out of me to do, only my very near and dear know this stuff about me. Mia doesn't even understand it tbh... She knows I am unwell but she doesn't know the depth of what I have etc. It's only really my mum and boyfriend that know the ins and outs of what I have.
I think one important thing I forgot to share in this video is that this disease that I have DOES NOT define me!! I don't want to be that sick kid on the internet with a kidney disease... I NEVER want to be refered to as that because I am SO much more than that!!! I hate glorifying what I have but I really thought about this for a long time and I hope this finally gives you guys closure and that you now know what to expect from me from the distant future with the changes i'm going to be going through.
News and media outlets please do not bother messaging me and asking for an interview about this, i decline all of them. it's not that i dont want to help its just that i dont want to be the face of something im not fully invested in because i spend every minute of my life trying not to think about what i have and feeding into the disease and thinking about it only just glorifies it and it will make me extremely unhappy to be a poster face kid using me and my disease to make money out of it. its just wrong. that's just my opinion anyway.

Your health needs to come first, as well as your family. You take care of yourself. I have an autoimmune disease and take low dose chemo drugs to suppress my immune system, and prednisone is like the devil’s crazy stepsister. You do what you need to do!

This is such a raw video and it's a shame that you have to make it because of how others may react but you're so brave for speaking out about it in the manner that you do (I know you don't want to hear that and sound like a charity case but it takes balls to talk about it so openly). Man I have watched you for years and always admired you for being one tough cookie. I have a chronic liver disease. Im scared out of my mind to start treatment. I go in two weeks and seeing a video like this make me feel like I can make it through this. I truly have hit a depression with this disease and have no idea why im commenting something so private on a video. I just want you to know that you have made me feel not so alone at 4 am when everyone is asleep. Thank you.

I've struggled with an auto immune disease in my eyes since I was twelve. I have had a ton of immune-suppressants/ chemo meds and got bullied for weight gain at school. I'm nineteen now and I am still struggling with it, but watching this video has made me feel so much stronger and braver.

It's really brave of you for sharing something so personal. Living with a chronic illness is something that we need to talk about more because it affects so many people, and people need to realise certain diseases exist to be able to understand why someone is looking or behaving the way it is. Keep in mind you are only gaining weight based on meds . and no matter what you weigh/look like we are still going to be clicking and watching your groovy makeup looks . I know I'm not happy until I'm told to 'GETWRECKED' At least once a day ahaha

I'm 29 and on dialysis girl, trust me my life isn't over yet! You're strong for sharing your struggle and I know it's scary, but kidney disease doesn't have to control your life! Caito I have watched you for YEARS and I watch every single one of your videos. Every. Single. One. I've always heard you mention days where you dont feel well, I've heard you apologise if you don't seem right and I've heard you vaguely explain your "weight gain", yellow teeth and shaky hands probably over 100 times and if you have taught me ANYTHING its that I shouldn't be feeling sorry for you. You are still living your life despite everything that's thrown at you and from the very beginning I have admired your attitude. You taught me that I shouldn't care what others think, I used to shy away from buying clothes I like and dying my hair the colours I want but I saw you with your amazing colourful makeup, your gorgeous clothes and your hilariously down to earth personality and you inspired me to be the person i am today.

My younger sister has psioratic arthritis (another autoimmune disease) and a bunch of other fun things and you described the immune depression, the medication reliance, the reluctance to tell people due to not wanting to sound attention seeking, medication related weight gain, changing medication complications, BASICALLY EVERYTHING YOU DISCUSSED was done amazingly and so genuinely. Thank you so much. Thank you so much for giving an accurate voice for my sister and I’m sure lots of other people with autoimmune diseases

I just found your channel, when I was 13 I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder, I had to do chemo and I was taking prednisone also. Because of the prednisone, the blood flow was blocked off to my hips and the bones died and deteriorated so I had to get them replaced. I also went into stage 3 kidney failure. And now I look back on it, the feeling of just wanting to give up because there is an overwhelming amount of stress being thrown at you. And I look at where I'm at now, and I'm so blessed. Everything I've gone through and am going through has built me up to unbelievable strengths. You are awesome girl!! It is so awesome to hear someone talk about something like this, that they too have experienced. I don't even know if you'll see this but you rock! Don't let people's judgments tear you down.♡

Caito, i understand what you’re going through. Ive been diagnosed with Lupus since i was 14, i’m 24 now...we all have stories to tell. All you need to do is find the right medicine, take care of yourself & try not to think about dying so much. You’re very young. Chances are you will live a long beautiful life. 🙂🌍😘 Chin up!

I love you Caito, and my mom has something similar but she has something wrong with her thyroid and it makes her have water weight. But yeah, I think I might understand. I just really hope you grow out of it❤️
Caito you should be so proud of yourself. I had no idea you were going through this and although it sucks shit, thankyou for sharing because it’s made myself and others feel so much less alone. I’ve been on the immunosuppressants cyclosporine and methotrexate over 4 years for my autoimmune disease and prednisone as well. I’ve lost hair, gained weight and get sick all the time and it’s frustrating when people constantly tell me to try other holistic options or changing my diet etc as if I haven’t tried everything already.. Obviously we wouldn’t choose to go on drugs like these if there was another option. I’ve had anorexia since I was 12 so weight gain is especially hard to deal with, especially when people assume it’s from eating unhealthily despite the fact I eat less than the recommended amount each day on a completely gluten free plant based diet yet continue to store fat. All we can do is stay strong like you’re doing so incredibly well yourself and trust that eventually the drugs will work. You’re amazing, you’re not alone, and I hope eventually you can have a normal functioning body and life that you deserve because life is a dick for choosing us to wreak havoc on. Sending love ❤️

I had nephrotic syndrome and grew out of it, but it’s still a worry for me as Drs say it can go away all together and never worry again or it may come back. I still have to be really careful and watch all the time in case I start leaking protein etc.

The prednisone is shitty and I had dark thoughts and weight gain with it I absolutely hated it, I turned into a bit of a psycho when I was on the high dosage.

My daughter had a blood disorder ,where her blood wouldn't clot,and they had to put her on predisone, she hated it,I hated it ,it's such a strong drug but the good thing it helped her get better,but when she was on it ,it was super hard but it ended up helping her. Also we would love to do all the stuff you listed, but for many of us it isn’t physically/mentally possible. Not trying to start shit just thought it might help

I’m 13 and last year I got super sick from strep throat that they never caught on time and I got diagnosed with rumeric fever which is an auto-immune disease and it made me miss over a month of school, I couldn’t walk, I was so sick, I was tested for so much stuff before they actually figured out what it is and now I have to go and get echocardiograms done a lot and always see the doctor and it’s horrible

Try to remind yourself not to feel bad for not putting out content as often, this is an extremely serious and important thing you're dealing with and no matter how long you've been struggling with it that doesn't change. You won't be letting us down. Even if this is your job you should only be doing it if it is making you happy or you're comfortable with yourself at that time.

Dude I totally get it. I have a chronic issue and I understand, talking about just feels like a charity case. No one will judge how you look, we got it. Caito. You’ve provided me with so many lolz these past few years and cheered me up after a crap day but now, opening up about your illness has given me so much respect for you. I am a nurse in the UK that works on a nephrology ward so I see lots of people in your position with the same illness that just roll over and let their Illness become them, but I really do admire you so much for always being so positive in your videos when you’ve got so much other stuff to deal with in your personal life. Keep doing you, you are amazing and yes.. prednisolone is a real bugger but this is a temporary bump and you will get there! And your moonface well still look great with those eyebrows!

My mum has lupus and is allergic to all the typical treatments. She was on an extremely high dose of prednisone for a year and is now tapering off as she starts a new medication. It sucks, it's shit. BUT things will get better. I hope your medication change goes well!

i was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome at the age of 2 and was on steroids for plenty years. steroids are just like prednisone i think (i’m from england so i’m not sure if it’s different?) i was in remission and haven’t had any signs of it since, that was 1 year ago in july❤️just thought i’d let you ppl know who also have it, you will beable to come over it and Caito we will notice changes but you will still be as beautiful as ever. we will go through this as a big family💓we love you x
Casey Thompson I was diagnosed with the same thing at 2 as well! I was able to get off the prednisone when I was 13 and have been pretty good every since and now I’m 26! I have never known of other people to have it before!
This is shocking but, I’m glad you told us. This is such a difficult subject to explain and I get you💕
One thing I love about you is that your always upbeat and always loud and happy when you film, it’s a joy watching your videos and I hope this illness doesn’t get the best of you because you are a great person.

I also have kidney issues and have done since I was little, I almost died last month after a spell in hospital which was scary. Next week I’m booked into the kidney clinic where I can hopefully get a diagnosis!

I was on Prednisone when I went into anaphylactic shock...and it is NOTHING to fuck with...I couldn't sleep on it, I was having constant hot flashes, my depression went THROUGH THE ROOF, and mainly I was just getting very angry at things...I'm not an angry person, but I could've killed a puppy on those meds. My heart goes out for you girl, it's an intense drug and so many people need it but the side effects are insane.
Omg yes same, when I was coming off it I nearly did some pretty fucked up things that seemed so normal at the time!!! SO MESSED UP!
