I remember watching this game D Rose played the whole 40 minutes plus Ot...he played perfect didn't force any shots found his teammates!!as u can see with the 8 assist ....unanimous #1 pick that year...damn I wish my boy would have stayed healthy !!
FLYYNATIONENT he could've did a little more he wasn't looking for his shot
FLYYNATIONENT except he choked a big free throw that cost them the game...
You could also say that, them not fouling on the last possession when they're up 3 also cost them the game? lol
FLYYNATIONENT he missed the free throw
FLYYNATIONENT missing 2 CRUCIAL free throws that would've won the championship
Welcome back to memphis
I still cry on the inside.
k
same here... they were sooooo close
That shot by Chalmers is why he's had a successful career. That was a pro shot
Anderson A. m
looking like lasted in NBA longer... crazy
to quote dwade "mario f*ckin chalmers"
wario chalmers
Luck he was trash
Even though they missed those free throws, a simple foul would've won it for them. Am I right?
A smart coach would always tell his team to foul when they are up 3 with that little time left
thats Kentucky coach john calpri pretty sure he smart
terrell he's talking about the Memphis' coach
Coach Cal was the coach at Memphis in 08.... lol
Can anyone tell me why they he felt don't foul?
Cam Thompson agreed
I remember watching this live!! I was rooting for Memphis and Rose. Game was crazy!!
Free throws win games
ENIACOC and championships 👍🏼
That's usually how it works, Yeah!
@MARVIN PETION atta boy
YES they do!
As a Memphis Tigers fan, I still have nightmares about this game. Much respect to Kansas Jay Hawks.
Man I remember when he missed those free throws I almost had a heart attack. And as for Mario the 3 that he made basically was the reason he got into the NBA.
i wonder if chalmers would have been drafted had he missed that shot
Your guess is as good as mine because Chalmers is trash. I'm a big fan of the Miami Heat and watching him play is like witnessing a freakin car accident.
Darryl Wallace he has his days but he does a lot of stupid shit
He moved up a few spots but I don't think he would have dropped from round 2 pick 3 (I think, early 2nd) to not drafted. He was still a good player
Daniel Richards ui
Rowena Ramos mi
this is why he went on to win MVP of the league
Asrtv
This was the last truly great college basketball season to me. From like 2000 - 2008 NCAA was it, I can’t even watch a full college basketball game now. I miss those old days
College basketball is barely watchable these days. If you thought it was good from 2000-2008 you should've been around the 80s and early 90s when you had crazy rivalries in the Big East and huge games like UNLV #1 vs Arkansas #2. It used to be such a big deal back then.
he always gets criticized for missing free throws in this game when actually he only missed one
He actually missed A free throw and Memhpis grabbed the board which lead to Rose getting fouled and he missed one of the two free throws.
charles wilson That wasn’t Rose bruh. Rose only missed one at the end. His other teammates didn’t make any when it counted.
@@charleswilson247 the first miss was not him. rewatch it. i know this comment is 3 yrs ago but i gotta clear things for future readers :D
Sometimes I think Rose is like 40 & that this tournament happened over 20 years ago
joey dorsey was a beast alon with drose , maannn this game still haunts me memphis just needed to make those freethrows to win the NCHAMPIONSHIP !
I'm from Memphis and that last minute of regulation was absolutely heartbreaking to watch
who watching in October 2016
18 points 8 Assists and 1 crucial missed free throw
D rose might be one of the most talented players ever. Too bad for injuries. I think he would’ve been a 4x MVP.
This was my first time even seeing D Rose and he was my fav player since
Why did that guy not pass it rose for the last shot with 2.1 left??
Thats what im thinking if he passed the ball to Rose . than rose will drive to the rim and lace it up with his quicknest
This kid is going to be good
He was on a mission.
This was so Heartbreaking,I will never forget this night.
Was and still have the best jerseys in college basketball
Something special about that #23
Ahh the Era of the baggy jerseys and shorts.. shout out DRose!!
Shoutout to my dad. Me and him got to witness this history in person 🙏🏾
717dreamchaser • That’s dope man 💯
I was an 18 young male lion at the time. now I am primed alpha lion. good ay
free throws matter A TON, it can decide games, especially in march madness, HIGH PERCENT FT IS A HUGE ADVANTAGE
This kid looks talented. I hope he has a successful career.
miss this d.rose fuckk man great memories.. amazing player in his prime
This was a helluva game. Back when college basketball was loaded with talent because guys stayed in school! This was also the year of "super freshman" started. Guys like rose, love, Westbrook, Eric Gordon were the Stars of college basketball.
Yep, this class started the one and done shit
I wish they would have fouled Chalmers instead of letting him actually having a chance to even take that shot.
Why? 3 easy free throws then
Because making one shot is easier than making 3. The odds would improve in Memphis' favor.
foul him before he shoots
+SQUi5HiiFiSH Exactly
watch the documentary they fouled the guy bringing the ball up but the refs didn't call it
Que bueno ya estan las cuatro, hechenle ganas y veran como el canal tendra exito. Nos gustan mucho sus videos
Rose = Legend
3:19 2 free throws wins them a Championship.....Rose must have nightmares of that 1 clunk
One of the best ncaa championship ever
Its crazy watching D Rose before the NBA.
D Rose a beast
This dude passing vision crazy man sheesh
Cost Rose so dearly ... during college -- not able to make a ft.
ROSE makes a ft in college--- Rose would be a champ today. #ALWAYSTHEREFORYOU
dude did a good job guardin him, he clearly wasnt as fast but still did a good job
he just quit playing ball today which makes me real sad :(
The goat 🐐
Memphis was one of the best free throw shooting teams in the Nation, but couldn't close the game with them. Smh
No they weren’t. That was a problem they had during the season. They started to get better in the tournament but ultimately fell back into the shooting woes in their final game.
this game is like his career, "Almost perfect", damn
Free throws were a problem with Memphis all that year leading up to that game
holy shit the history
Hope this guy will be a future mvp or making a history as the youngest to make that achievement who knows?🤷
Thumbnail from far distance looks like Scottie Pippen.
At the least we could see him winning an MVP.
I hope he gets in the NBA
2011 mvp
D rose
This guy looks like the guy who will get buckets but also passes in a pick up game that you always want on your team
Mario Charmers hit the clutch tie three just like Ray Allen did for Heat in 2013!
This video should say Derrick Rose - 4 points 100 assist
jesus all those jump passes
I miss playing for memphis our team cant make it to the march madness but our football team is good though
Damn he was so good then. Fast!
if d rose didn't suffer injuries he will be one of the top guard of the league
That 1 Free Throw Miss Killed Him Smh 🤦🏿♂️
Rose should have never changed his shot.
Man they should've won it that year only is rose missed that free throw
I lost bread Fn with rose az, he played timid ah that game. Oh boy from the D Douglas-Roberts kept them in the game.
Rock chalk baby!!
and from that moment D Rose swore he would never miss a free throw again
Wow, I forgot how close that game was. Memphis blew it at the free throw line.
Boy i was in Iraq watching this wow time has passed
Man, I wish things ended up being different for this kid.
Good thing rose learned how to shoot free throws after this game..
Drose blew out his knee three times during this game.
Calipari suffered some painful fucking losses due to missed free throws...
Shout out to my city, Memphis10, hickory hill 901
Mario Chalmers and Chris Douglas Roberts I had high hopes for both these dudes. Glad I don't gamble.
Pooh Doc Tonight!!!!
Ancient History
Who is that dozier?
rob dozier
Free throws...
I almost forgot how good Memphis was
Rose was playing bully ball lol
It is done
I like this Derrick Rose kid, but with too much explosiveness he might not be able to stay healthy if he goes to the NBA.
I still look at Chalmers sideways for this game.🤬🤬
damn we could have had curry vs rose that year
as a team they shot terrible from the line. that's the one thing I remember from this game lol
rose is hiphop b 4
Look at how long shorts they have man hahaha
Ja Morant is good but don’t ever compare him to D Rose. Rose was a different breed.
D rose
It was on April 28th, 2012 that his knee knew...it fucked up
Sharron Collins all ways beated rose when it counted !
Rose wearing 23 not knowing he would be playing for the bulls the following year
Why didnt they foul commit a foul during the last 12 seconds ?
Anyone miss those baggy shorts? I don’t.
Imagine how even better rose would of been if he stayed in collage and he would of have a back up plan after basketball with all his injuries
Chaise Samargis would have* fucking moron. Would of makes no fucking sense.
Why would he care about that when he has over 200 million lol and a lifetime adidas shoe deal
Ridiculous speed and quickness. Unfortunately, they called him Mr. Glass
so no one else saw that carry at 3:50......
The warriors should draft him
