I've loved the pitch fork, but i don't like how it goes detune, half a step, whole step, and then skips to 2 whole steps. I like that the drop goes in half step intervals all the way to an octave. The pitch fork also goes up or both up and down simultaneously. I'll probably have both on my board eventually just to cover all the bases.
Update: I've got the Drop and now I'm gonna sell the pitch fork. The pitch fork adds a noticeable amount of compression, noise, and in my opinion, colors my tone in an undesirable way.
I like the Pitch Fork better. I’m not hearing any chorus sound from it, just brighter high end. The Digitech sounds muffled to me and has some weirdness in the low end, not loud enough too.
I just sold the drop and got a pitchfork. The drop in volume and weird warblyness at lower semitones made it unusable. Plus the pitchfork has added capabilities like a blend and pitch up.
Yep, Drop is way more natural, it works better if you use other effects with it, especially modulations. The "chorussy" thing with the Pitchfork is not necessarily a bad thing. If you don't use other effects and use just the Pitchfork with fuzz or distortion, it can make the tone a little bit fuller, it almost works like a doubler. Bryan Giles from Red Fang uses like that.
If it's drop A#, tune to drop D and turn it to 6. I can't remember if In Flames is drop or standard, so my advice might not be helpful. If it's A# standard, I'm afraid that you will have to use a slightly different tuning.

I just ordered the DROP. I just want to detune...I don't care about the other features.
Used each for a really extended trial to compare them. Ended up going with the pitchfork. The drop breaks up much sooner at lower pitches.

Every other time I’ve had a thought about how to arrange pedals I’ve ended up here. Great job as always.

This, when you detune, you need that extra volume boost that the pitchfork gives, the drop just loses level and high end anywhere below a third down
EHX Pitchfork has way more options than Digitech Drop.

I have both the DROP and Pitchfork, and the pitchfork has a delay to it. Any ideas if it requires a special setup (loop, etc.)?
