Shawn, I can see you getting choked up telling this story. We don’t consider our own safety when defending someone we love. Good on you for defending Callie. She is a sweetheart. And you are her hero. I’m glad you all are ok. I always carry a folding knife, at a minimum, for just this kind of thing. A dog attacks my dog and won’t let go, it’s the end of that dog.
@@nojnoj3069 I can only control my dog. He stays right next to me at all times. Unless he’s allowed to play free. He does give off aggressive vibe (Rottie and Pit mix). @@SeatoSky1111 Sabre makes a terrific pepper Gel that I have bought on amazon a number of times. The Gel is more directional than the spray, and cuts back on blow back. But the wind can still catch, and redirect it to you. Had it happen to me when I was trying to protect my elderly Westie from an overweight, and deaf blue heeler. She charged him, and was trying to rip him a new one. This gel got her to stop right away, and she ran home. But anyway, some of the Gel blew at me from the side, and I was incapacited for about 30 mins. I had no choice though. Hitting her with my hiking stick only broke it, but had no effect on her. My dog was on leash as usual. But the blue heeler was loose, and came out of nowhere.
My heart goes out to you, I am a Texan, I live southwest of Houston, and if a pit attacked my dog, that pit would be dead, no way I would let another dog kill my best friend without a fight. I am so happy to hear Callie is fine, she is an awesome doggo.
I do not understand why you feel the need to apologise....By his own omissions Callie gives off an aggressive vibe, she's not leash trained and she runs free killing small animals......it takes two to tango...
@@nojnoj3069stfu and stay in your own lane. If the other guy would’ve managed his dog properly it wouldn’t have happened. Shawn was with Callie just as the other dog owner should have been with his dog. It’s ignorant people like you that have a skewed view of entitlement that cause these kinds of problems.
I was always worried about Callie getting attacked by wolves or a bear or moose. Who would have thought it would be a domesticated dog that attacked her!? I am so relieved to hear they she, and you guys are okay. Big hug to Callie❤
Shawn, you are my modern day folk hero! I was so excited to hear that you, your wife and Cali were traveling to my home state of Texas to celebrate your wife’s birthday. It hurts my heart to hear that two of your worst experiences happened here in Texas. I have spent many days camping and vacationing along the beaches of Port Aransas and North Padre Island, so I am familiar with some of the issues you have experienced. However, our beaches are safe for the most part, and most Texans are very welcoming and friendly. I truly hope this bad experience hasn’t permanently tarnished your image of the Lone Star State. I appreciate you Shawn and want to thank you for allowing us to follow along in your incredible adventures. Best to you and yours!!
I'm so grateful that Callie came out okay from the encounter, thank you for all you did to help her. I had a dog that was attacked by a Pitbull, here in Toronto, back in 2006, my mom was walking him (Casey, 10 at the time) as I was unwell. My poor mom (71 at the time) did her best to fight the Pitbull off, the dog's owner did nothing to help, until a stranger walking by grabbed a large branch to help, that's when the owner finally called his dog off. My dog was okay, traumatized with 6 puncture wounds in his neck, but after my mom got home she had severe chest pain, and after going to hospital, had a heart attack. Thankfully she survived, but her health was never the same. Casey lived till 17.5 and was a spunky 35 lb mixed breed terrier-poodle. My mom grew up in tough times and maintained her special blend of inner toughness and compassion until she passed away in Dec 2021.
Another story of courage and endurance. Thank you for sharing. Many dog owners are irresponsible, and some, because they are filled with hate, even use their poor animals deliberately to terrorize, even harm innocents. Laws need to be harpoon sharp for those people in particular. I'm glad your mother and dog carried on in spite of their trauma. You are from hearty stock. Cheers!
Thank you. No charges could be laid for dog attacking dog, here in Toronto, at least not back then. Although my mom had a heart attack, the dog didn't attack her. Animal Control looked for the man and dog based on description to fine the owner, but never found him. @@gatekeeper65
The owners of these dogs do not understand the repercussions of their dog's behavior, when their muscle pup goes wrong. Thanks for sharing what happened to your family.
Shawn, on behalf of Texans, am so sorry for the injuries to Cali, and overall inconsideration of some of the people. Been following you a few years now, and love watching Cali play in the snow and icy river and streams. So glad she's okay and y'all are okay. You all are good people. God bless you.
I've heard the same. Once they latch on, it's virtually impossible to get them to let go, so Shawn must've been choking the life out of that dog, and rightfully so.
I had a Yorkie, she was in the yard on a leash. This Pitbull ran up to her, grabbed my dog, bit down and crushed her, killing her. It was so dramatic. I understand what you felt. Maybe not exactly, your experience is unique to you. Thank you for sharing.
Oh god that is so traumatic. People will argue that it’s not the pitbulls fault , it’s the owners . Why does a pitbull go for the kill. When it sees another dog that’s it . Game over . Especially a little dog , they se it and want to kill. I have no love for pitbulls . IM SO SORRY FOR YOUR TRAGIC LOSS.
Our bully puppy was attacked by a full grown Golde Retriever @wanieta9271. It was extremely traumatic. Yet, I hold no grudge against Golden Retrievers. Please read the book Pitt Bull. It will give you insight into breed blaming. Yesterday, my husband and I saw a large Golden Doodle jump out of a moving pickup truck cab in a grocery parking lot. It proceeded to attempt attacking a dog in another vehicle! Golden Doodles are Poodle Golden Retriever cross breeds. I have watched a video of Cali getting aggressive with a friend of Shawn's dog. Breed blaming does absolutely NOTHING to address dog/owner training issues. Also, American Pitt Bull Terriers are American icons. You cannot ban/blame/hate them out of existence. That has been attempted before. It didn't work. I have had a German Shepherd attack my dear old Bichon, who died not long after the attack. So, I have experienced the same loss as you. Yet, I remain a fan of ALL DOG BREEDS. I am sorry for your loss. Not being a fan of Pitties is your personal choice. However, the behaviors of dogs are the owners responsibility. It is not the breeds responsibility.
I am a retired Canadian dog trainer and after a class episode where one dog latched onto other dog’s throat, (that I was able to interrupt), my husband made me some ‘breaking’ sticks which were scattered around training hall. Slides in between attackers jaws and you rotate to force their mouth open. I never needed it but felt safer. Will use as a very large key fob when walking with my dog when travelling. It is already in my van for next trip which is to US. We are not supposed to have Pits in Ontario although lots around. The Pits are lovely, athletic, powerful dogs but to be surprised they are often dog aggressive is like being surprised a herding dog chases, well, anything that moves. I am glad you and your dog are ok. Best wishes.
Golden retrievers are the best❤ so trusting. Such a sad situation. I also witnessed a pitbull attack towards a small beagle, I'll never forget it. I'm glad Callie is safe and hopefully she will not have any after-effects emotionally.
My neighbor's aggressive pit attacked my other neighbors dog and me a couple weeks ago. I had to pull my weapon to end the attack. It broke my heart to have to do it. But I had to save myself. I'm tiny and disabled. No other choice. 😭
Watching this just made me sick to my stomach. Not just because Callie was hurt but also the reflection it has possibly made on our country. It’s sad that you had so many problems and thank God you and Callie ( and wife) are ok. We all love Callie!
Poor Callie. My sweet Golden Maggie May got into her first fight ever with a pit mix a couple of days ago. Thankfully Maggie held her own. She is 7.5 years old. I was fighting back tears listening to your story.
My adult daughter has a golden and had this happen recently with a Husky running up and sniffing then attacking. This was an urban area and thankfully others answered her cries for help and pulled her dog out of the Husky’s mouth. The husky owner arrived minutes later calling the dog into his car. He called out a weak “sorry“ and drove off without inquiring about any injuries. Thank God Callie nor you were hurt.
AUTOCRAFT AUTOCRAFT ROBOT 🤖 TROLL 🤖 👾 🧌 🤣, now I don't believe you husky are beautiful greatest 💙 dogs somebody had to done badly trying badly things people's life matters, sadly 😢 somebody 😢 doing badly things
So sorry this happened, your eyes tell how devastating this experience was. A person we know was attacked on the beach while riding her horse. The Pit Bull went for the horse and she was thrown off, breaking her arm and a few other things. We can't count on people being responsible with their animals. For the most part I do think the greater majority are responsible pet owners, but, unfortunately not all of them. I am very glad Callie made it and is doing o.k. Love to see more videos on safety as we are 70 and still camping. Take care.
My heart goes out to Callie, I have been attacked by a dog a couple years ago, so scary when their teeth are sinking into you and they are driven!! I live in Texas, it's changed a lot its been years since I went to South Padre, it's a bit too close to the border!! Glad you all are ok!
Wow ! So sorry to hear about the close call with that Pitbull attacking Calle ! You absolutely safe her and know how much she means to you and your wife ! You may have to carry.a stun gun as protection ! Thanks Shawn with sharing this traumatic event and hope that this never happens again !!!
How scary for you all. You saved her life. She is so adorable and loves her life with you. So glad she is here to swim, fetch and be your loyal companion. I am attached to Cali. So happy she is okay. ❤
So glad she did not suffer more severe issues from this attack. Definetley and eye opener that these days you need to be more vigilent as the world has changed not for the better. Thanks for sharing.
A year ago today I was almost killed by a pit bull that was even on a leash. After 3 surgeries and having the possibility of losing my leg and thumb, I am finally getting energy and strength back. My husband, TheNorthwoodman1, was grounded for a long time taking excellent care of me. But thanks be to God, it is now in the past.....pretty much!
Truly awful experience. You've coped well considering the severity of your injuries. Please tell me the dog who attacked you has been put down. I wish you and your devoted husband every happiness.
@@01splitpea Yes, the owners were diligent in getting me the dogs records. They wanted to kill the dog on the spot, but the police said no. Authorities watched him how ever many days and put him down.
Where I live in Canada we have enforcement officers. Dogs are not allowed to run loose, they sometimes do you call the officer they get a warning if it continues they take the dog. If the dog was ugly attacking other animals they would take it right away. That is a good thing because the owners have to take responsibility for their own dog.
@mildredmorine745 same thing in the US. People have to actually call and report the dogs. Various places in the US have special requirements for pitbulls or other breeds. Such as having a certain fence around your yard, insurance etc.
@@Simon-talks Only if they can fine them. I had a cyclist buddy that got drug into a bob wire fence by a dog on a bicycle and was in the hospital for weeks. 20 of us saw where the dog came from and the cops were called but the owner said it wasn't his dog so nothing happened until a few months later when we fixed the problem then he said it was his dog but nothing happened to him.
wow thank God you were strong enough to save Cali. I spent 18 years of my nursing in the ER and the Pitbull injuries were always so horrible and often times from trying to separate a fight. So awesome you made it to the South West, it is beautiful.

I am so very, very sorry! Hearing you talk about this brings back so many raw feelings! We had a similar experience at a South Dakota campground! Very traumatic! If I really think about this attack I can't breathe! So very glad that Calie is doing okay, so very glad! We did fairly good too - slow! Thank the Lord! Look for any type of abscess under the skin. We experienced this approximately 1 month after, from an unseen puncture wound that had festered and abscessed. Had to doctor this for a couple months! Emotional trauma for sure! Sweet Calie - sending love!
Wow what a terrifying experience with Cali. I've seen dogs go at it and it's really brutal and scarey as hell. I'm glad Cali and you are okay. Thanks for sharing this.
So sorry this happened. I can’t imagine how distressing this was for y’all. That’s a sketchy area imho, cartel country and lots of hinky stuff going on. Glad you were aware of the truck that pulled up on you and were able to make a safe retreat.
Exactly, that's what I was worried about when that car showed up. I'm afraid to travel down there. I'm a big chicken in Washington State, will stay close to Oregon Coast and the Islands here in PNW, lol...
Oh my goodness, I’m so happy Callie survived the attack, those Pitbulls are not messing around when they’re in their attack mode, sending lots of love and hugs to precious Callie!! 🫶🏻😘💋
Horrible! Precious Calli now safe. Thankful you were the one with her to have the strength to seperate her from that pit bull. Myself and others especially Texans would have been heart broken if Calli was seriously injured or killed or if you were injured as well. As a Texan I believe this state does not do enough to make owners be responsible for their pets nor to control the stray population. I pray Cali never again will be in that kind of danger. I pray that you and family remain safe always. Hope people would respect your privacy. Take care. Sending my LOVE to Cali.
I'm a Texan, I'm sorry that this has happened to your beautiful dog. I'm glad that Callie is okay. That's the problem with rural areas. When you're in the rural areas no one obeys the leash laws here.
I had a pit bull/Labrador/Doberman mix and he would only take down and let go any dog that was a threat to him just like his Labrador-Doberman father taught him. His mother was a sweet pit bull who never hurt any one. I think someone who owned the dog that attacked Callie was probably abused.
Happy Cali is ok. My dog has been attacked while on leash and those dogs get a face full of pepper spray while owners don’t care. Need to protect yourself and family. For future unfortunately, I carefully pick and choose where we go.
I am sorry that your sweet Calli was attacked and I am so thankful that you were able to rescue her from that dog. I know you didn't hesitate for a second and putting yourself in harms way. That was truly a miracle you didn't get injured. Being such an outdoorsman has made you strong and able to pull them apart. It hurts my heart that you both had to go through that terrible experience. I'm from Texas and live close to Corpus Christi and Padre Island. I am so happy to know Calli and you both are doing well. Again I'm very sorry that happened. Hugs and kisses to Calli and thankful for you saving our Calli. The best dog on TH-cam. ❤❤❤
I'm happy to see that Cali is fine after all. She is a kindhearted, gentle being.. don"t deserve such rough things to live through. I wish the best for Cali and you!
I'm so sorry y'all had that experience. I live down here in Texas. Born and raised. It's never been as dangerous as it is now. Pitbulls are everywhere as well. Can't go get mail, take trash out, without protection. Glad Cali is ok.❤
Thank God Callie is ok 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 You saved her. My brother and his Golden Retriever were attacked by a Pitbull last year……he did the same thing you did and saved his dog,Maskwa’s life. I’m so sorry that happened to you.
I'm so happy that sweet Cali is okay. I'm crying of the thought of Cali been attacked because of the irresponsibility of people that don't have control their dangerous pets, in this case that pit bull. I would've done the same thing you did, Shawn. Thank God you are okay too. Please, give sweet Cali a big hug from me! Thank you!
I love beach camping but I like to do hike in camping. It reduces the chance of encountering craziness. Most folks who misbehave are not interested in exercise. That dog attack was scary.
Shaun, as Native Texans, my husband and I are so sorry this happened to you and Callie on a Texas beach! We love Callie and fully understand you defending her without hesitation. (I half expected you to tell us you’d killed the pitbull.) So glad you both survived. Please stay safe.
Shawn, thank you talking about this. This serves as a good wake up call to what is possible and a good reminder on how easily you can be blindsided by situations like this.
I am so sorry that you had to go through that. Very glad she’s ok. There are way too many irresponsible dog owners out there camping and it’s a recipe for disaster. Glad you are all ok, that’s very traumatic. Take care. ❤
I've watched your channels for years and look forward to seeing Cali in your videos. I'm so thankful you were right there and were able to save her. She is such a ray of sunshine. Thank you for telling the story, and here's to more fun retrieving for Cali. Enjoying watching from US.
Oh my goodness, poor Cali and well done Shawn for intervening and saving her. So glad Cali recovered. That must have been so scary, along with that truck at 3am. Take care.
As a resident of S Texas I am glad you all are ok that Callie is recovered. I do hope that this one incident has not spoiled your impression of the region. I do understand wanting to protect your privacy and security given the size of your channel as I have a personal friend of over 40yrs with a rather large channel and has done a lot to protect his own. There are a lot of so-called "less than lethal" options available here with no issue that might not be available in Canada. Honestly, most of them could be pretty lethal if used in a certain manner. Hopefully, it will give you the peace of mind you are looking for on your next trip. I might also suggest getting Callie a rattlesnake shot before going to the island dunes again as it can mean life or death for a dog. Please come back in the future, and hopefully, your next experience will be a little less stressful. Once again, I am glad you all made it home safe and look forward to your visually stunning content as I play catch-up.
Being a Texan I am very sorry that happened... what a horrible experience! Pit bulls are a big problem all over the US many apartment complexes have banned that breed and some cities have as well. When it comes to the trash on the beach, the freighters out in the Gulf dump their food trash overboard, which is disgusting and the drilling rigs and drilling ships in the Gulf cause us to frequently have blobs of oil float in and wash up on the beach ... they get coated in sand so they blend in then you step on one... now you've got a mess. I generally wouldn't recommend our beaches. And of course the closer you get to the southern border the spookier things get. I am so glad you were able to save Callie even at great risk to yourself ... like you say when it comes to your dog you don't even think you just jump in. Good job!
@@nojnoj3069 sad that people don't understand that breeds are bred for traits and pit bulls were bred to fight to the kill. They are terriers the breed has taken over and the dog pounds are full of this breed. Ad0opting a used pit bull should be illegal. They are responsible for 1/2 of all deaths of people. Read the facts!!!
@@nojnoj3069 I totally agree !! unfortunately it seems like too many people get them for "guarding" or to make themselves look tough. I have friends and family with pit mixes that are sweethearts. but the honest truth is the single-mindedness and physicality of that breed makes them a force to be reckoned with once something goes wrong.
This just breaks my heart to know you, your wife and most importantly Callie went through this tragedy. But I thank God that Callie survived this attack, I can't imagine how this effect you, my prayers are with you all. You, your family & (Callie 🐕), are amazing. Having been involved with dog fights, it is amazing how one forgets about your own safety when trying to separate the dogs. I just am happy to hear Cali was OK. I am sure that her fan club is relieved as well.
Pit bulls are not golden doodles like TikTok tries to promote. Don’t go to Mexico where dogs roam free without supervision. Bring a cattle prod for protection. Thank goodness Callie is okay and and thank goodness your physical strength saved her.
Thanks for sharing. I am so thankful our girl is OK. That would be so terribly scary and it's a good thing you are strong enough to over power that dog. Word of warning for others.
Cally is the most beautiful, well behaved dog I've ever seen. Socialized or not, I do not believe she would ever attack another animal or human. I can't imagine how frightened you were. I'm glad she's okt.
Sean explained that Callie is unsocialized with other dogs and kills small animals. She has a history of aggression with other animals. Even if she was well socialized, it may have ended the same way, it is hard to say. She is very lucky she has a thick coat, and well- fleshed.💔
@@jennifersawyer8207thank you for stated this. Apparently people hear what they want are so quick to attack and bash pit bulls. I’ve been a proud owner of the sweetest pit bull for 9 years that I prefer her company to most human. She doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her body and goes to nursing homes, schools to try and diminish the ignorance around the breed. The bottom line there isn’t bad breeds…..only bad owners.
The force of the bite on a pitbull can be near impossible to break. Poor Callie! So glad you could step in and not walk away with wounds. My SIL ended up with some painful wounds saving his own dog.
Im glad all three of you returned home safely. Im so sorry you had to run into these people. We did the U.S. "loop" when I was 8, but I'd be hesitant to do it now. This is my country of birth and I'd like to do it again as a senior. I "only" encountered a bear, while alone, on the first trip. Im fortunate he only came up for a sniff!
Really sorry to hear about your experience with the pit bull, Shawn - what a lot of people don't know is that to break up a dog fight, you need to get the aggressive dog from behind and simply lift it's back legs off the ground, which causes it to let go of it's hold on the other dog, and keeps you safe at the same time.. Thanks so much for your amazing channel! From your friends in New Zealand - my wife say's "Happy 50th" to your wife! Cheers!
Remember that this dog attack happened to Shawn when he was on his own at the beach (no one else to help him and possibly no leash to use as a choker)..
I understand you are trying to be helpful, but I don't think the word "simply" should ever be used when talking about a dog fight. There's a lot of nuance to every situation, including high emotions and adrenaline involved. That technique may work for a small dog that can be man handled, but I'd like to see someone try that on an 80lbs plus size dog that is in full rage attack mode. That does not seem in any way realistic, sorry.
Oh my god that is so scary Shawn. Thank god she's OK. There are so many pitbulls and pit mixes here in Texas due to irresponsible owners. The shelters are full of them.
Poor Caley, Shawn please give Caley a big hug and kiss from her biggest fans from Edmonton. If you ever need a dog sitter out west we'll take her in a heart beat❤😊

What a horrible thing to happen to you and Calli. I bet the owner of the dog didn't want to own up to what happened so he tried to put the blame on you instead. They don't want to take up ownership on what happened. Here's a tip, carry pepper spray on hand. I was told that dogs hate the smell, you don't have to spray them with it I think but you can use the smell to ward them off; I'm glad Callie is alright at least.
I am so sorry this was your Texas experience. So glad Cali was not more seriously hurt and that she has recovered. As a Texan, I hope this does not sour you on our great state.
That wasn't his 'Texas experience'....it was just one unfortunate event that he had at that beach. The rest of his experience was lovely. This was just an unfortunate single event from a runaway dog(the kind of thing that happens every day all over the world).
My dog got attacked by a pit bull too. No reason to it! Prayers that you and Callie are ok! If I had to pick between the woods or beach, hands down the woods win! Less people!

What a horrible experience for you and Cali to have had especially on your precious holiday time. Thank God you were there with Cali and were able to save her.
You need a friend to loan you some normal protection when you’re driving around don here! We lost hubby’s favorite beagle to two pit bulls that came onto our land and attacked him. We fired shots that stopped them but it was too late for our guy. No idea where they came from but we sure did go looking for them for a long time. Too many acres to fence in so it remains a risk for us. I’m glad Cali ended up ok!
1. Glad you're all alright. 2. Glad you had the visit to the American SW. Remarkable area. You can sometimes go just 50 miles and have an entirely new landscape. Who knows if this wasn't the last chance to do this given the insane politics going on now in both countries. 3. Sad to even think about (re: the electronic communications or even physical items) the sheer number of potential thieves out there looking for any chance to steal from others. Keep your head on a swivel, 'awareness.' Best wishes.
So Thankful that she's okay, I have a Golden Retriever myself that is a splitting image as her, by far the smartest dog I've ever had of many, her actions and personality are a lot like a child and I consider her like my child because of that and how protective she is of my actual child!!! Always be very aware of your surroundings as well as having a plan in place in case those surrounding changes for the worst, was one of the many great things my Papaw taught me, as well as always having some form of protection even if the simplest form, be a WW2 veteran, he learned a lot of lessons at a young age and lovingly passed them down to me!!

And if the owner of the dog doesn't like it the same can be done to them especially in Texass.
My heart goes out to you, I am a Texan, I live southwest of Houston, and if a pit attacked my dog, that pit would be dead, no way I would let another dog kill my best friend without a fight. I am so happy to hear Callie is fine, she is an awesome doggo.
pittbulls should not be allowed in society
I'm not a Texan, but I am an American. I am so sorry you had such a traumatic experience while visiting our country. Glad Miss Callie is all right.
I do not understand why you feel the need to apologise....By his own omissions Callie gives off an aggressive vibe, she's not leash trained and she runs free killing small animals......it takes two to tango...

I was always worried about Callie getting attacked by wolves or a bear or moose. Who would have thought it would be a domesticated dog that attacked her!? I am so relieved to hear they she, and you guys are okay. Big hug to Callie❤
Not very "Domesticated" apparently, and neither is the owner.
Was that dog owner charged at the time ?
Glad you all got through it in time.
Take care.
Prayers sent honey.

I've heard the same. Once they latch on, it's virtually impossible to get them to let go, so Shawn must've been choking the life out of that dog, and rightfully so.
Oh gosh it’s like I couldn’t t breathe until you said Cali was okay. What a horrible experience.
Was exactly the same for me!
I had a Yorkie, she was in the yard on a leash. This Pitbull ran up to her, grabbed my dog, bit down and crushed her, killing her. It was so dramatic. I understand what you felt. Maybe not exactly, your experience is unique to you. Thank you for sharing.
I am so sorry. Pitbulls are a trash breed for trash people.
So sorry
Oh god that is so traumatic. People will argue that it’s not the pitbulls fault , it’s the owners . Why does a pitbull go for the kill. When it sees another dog that’s it . Game over . Especially a little dog , they se it and want to kill. I have no love for pitbulls . IM SO SORRY FOR YOUR TRAGIC LOSS.
I'm so very sorry.

Yes, we have learned our lesson. Down here in Australia Pitt Bull is a banned species.
scary stuff. as a dog owner myself this is the one thing i fear the most when i´m travelling with her
Where I live in Canada we have enforcement officers.
@@mildredmorine745 In the US the owners have no responsibility.
In the U.S. the owners have full responsibility for their dog, just the same as Canada or anywhere else.

Good job!

Glad Callie was ok. Anything can happen in an instant so it is essential to be aware of what's going on around me . Sounds like , besides that one incident, your trip was a success. Thanks for sharing and we hope Kallie continues to do well.
Wow, what a story that could have been very bad, but luckily you intervened and saved our girl Cali, thank God you both were alright. Thanks for sharing Shawn! ❤️🙏🏼
You did the right thing…you protected your family. I’m sure many of us would have done the same thing. Glad you all are well and safe. ❤
Shawn, I can't tell you how much I enjoy your videos. My family and I are so grateful for you and the wisdom and knowledge that you share with us. Blessings to you and your family.
I’ve been following your channel for years and am sorry for some things you’ve endured just because you want to share your cabin life etc with us…we wish you and your family safety and happiness from New Zealand 💝
This happened to our 2 year old German shepherd; luckily he fought back and the pit never able to get at his throat area; police were called do to blood everywhere and pit was still roaming the street; after police got pit bull corralled; they said its face looked like a buzz saw hit it; we are just very grateful or shepherd was safe ; it could have been very different if pit would have gotten to him.
So sorry for your loss!
Keep your head on a swivel, 'awareness.' Best wishes.
so very very glad that Cali is ok
So Thankful that she's okay, I have a Golden Retriever myself that is a splitting image as her, by far the smartest dog I've ever had of many, her actions and personality are a lot like a child and I consider her like my child because of that and how protective she is of my actual child!!! Always be very aware of your surroundings as well as having a plan in place in case those surrounding changes for the worst, was one of the many great things my Papaw taught me, as well as always having some form of protection even if the simplest form, be a WW2 veteran, he learned a lot of lessons at a young age and lovingly passed them down to me!!
Thank you so much for sharing the story. We need to know the bad as well as the good. I don’t know about everyone else, but I feel like you all are a part of my family. When you share a story like this, you make others aware of what can happen and take steps to make sure it doesn’t. I love your sweet Callie and I don’t want anything to happen to her. They are a part of our family if they hurt we hurt. I’m thankful that you’re both OK and that you did have a good trip for the most part. I hope your wife had a great birthday. Glad to see you back at your little piece of heaven. Thank you for sharing, take care, stay safe.
I’m so sorry to hear your beautiful dog got attacked…. , but I’m glad she fine…
Please take her to the vet to have her checked out.., to make sure she’s okay 🙏
You're probably the only person on that beach who isn't armed.
Truth. Which makes you a victim…
So what? Arms are no danger, only the wrong people carry them are or could be...
If I would live in Texas, but I'm not, I would be armed 24/7. Not because I'm scared of others, just because I still can! You can't say that from many places anymore...
He was the only one armed with a functioning brain though
