Wow! We are from Florida and watched your FT hike. We left Florida in early June and drove to Alaska. We are here for the summer and love it! Have fun!
Welcome to the real world, we are used to the summers and winters up here. We rest up in the winter and hit it hard in the summer, and use light blocking curtains if need be to sleep. But honestly, summers are insane cause it is amazing here and you just don't want to stop. You are a couple weeks early for the peak of the red run on the Kenai, I tend to get about 4 hours of sleep and explore all day, go fishing at about 10 p.m. until 1 a.m.(no one on the river then and it is plenty light out still) Crash out at about 3 a.m. and back up to do it all over the next morning. Eating is the key, your body will function as long as it has energy and you have the will.
Worked a few years in Alaska and honestly think about it a few times a week, especially when the temps in the Southern US climb during the summer. This is making me want to go back *so* much.
Alaska is Beautiful !!! With each turn it gets better. And when it can't get any better, It does. I have been there twice. It doesn't get full dark in the summer. So big, so much to do you can't do it in a lifetime. So much game. Watch out for bears anywhere up there. I loved it. Have a great time as I know you will!!!!!
I watch the Brooks Falls live streams and dream about visiting Alaska. Sure I grew up with Yosemite and Tahoe ... Desolation Wilderness, I'm no noob but Alaska is frickin' off the charts wild. Yeah, bucket list for sure. I'm writing it on my arm now for real.
You are blessed to be sharing this experience with your friends. The abundance of wildlife in Alaska is staggering. If you ever get to Skagway don't miss the railroad trip into the Yukon
...WOW !! What beautiful scenery ... A fantastic change from trail tramping ... just being a tourist with a private guide ... totally agree ,, having only a week would be so overwhelming on what to do first ,,then ,,then ,, then ... Take in what you can ,, then plan for return trips in the future ... Always Stay Safe and God Bless ...
Hey Kelly. Look awesome. I made it to Alaska in 1992. I was 22 and went with my father. Great memories. That trip was a huge influence in becoming a geologist! Rock on Kelly!
Bravo young lady, exceptional video! Thank you for sharing this gift of a place.😊 Wow, the grandeur of Alaska is just humbling. You would have had to drag me off that agate beach. You always keep us guessing 9L. What a pleasant surprise on a Saturday. Take care Kelly ✌️
My husband and I look so forward ro your videos. We are in our 60's and he had 2 strokes and open heart surgery 2 years ago. So we can't do walking and traveling very well. So we live through watching your videos. At of all the ones we watch you are our FAVORITE!
I’m glad to say you’re in Alaska, I just went camping last Friday and Saturday and have been tubing down the river. I’ll have my video uploaded soon on my other channel Kentucky Uncharted once I get our fiber internet which we’re getting today. By the way, when you’re looking for agate rocks up around there, there’s a rare chance you may find some gold nuggets since Alaska is heavy full of gold due to ancient glaciers it’s had for millions of years.
We’re just coming back from AK now, so big right! We didn’t see Homer, so thanks for sharing, can’t wait to see more! I got a video of an eagle soaring over the river between the mountains, my favorite ❤
Commenting for the algorithm. Been following your channel since your AT hike. Your videos are a fun little escape while drinking morning coffee. One of my favorite hiking channels (along with Taylor ). Looking forward to future videos. Keep up the good work!
This is AMAZING!! Alaska is absolutely on my list of places to visit. Last month this FL family headed out west to Colorado for a few weeks. We hadn't been past Alabama! 😂 So much to see and experience out there! Looking forward to watching the rest of your trip uo there. 😁
OMG!!!! Awesome 🥰🥰🥰 you MUST GO TO see the Matanuska Glacier!!!! It’s really incredible!! I hiked it in November 2022!!! I had a blast there! I went snowmobiling too!! Eat a reindeer hotdog!! Yummy 🥰🥰🥰
Looks like you got some decent weather. It's been raining here it seems non stop! The resort in Girdwood is pronounced Al ee es kah. Upper winner Creek trail there is awesome! I love Homer! It would have been fun to meet you while you were up here. I have an airbnb! It was cool seeing the places i know after seeing so many of your other videos!
One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. Can’t wait to go back. I hope you had a chance to visit a glacier. The blues are indescribable. God Bless!! 🙏🏻❤️
Have watched all.your videos and almost nothing compares to the wonder and beauty of Alaska so happy you got out of the hot box known as the south to experience it.
Alaska is such a magical place. I'm jealous! They have these very remote state owned cabins that people can backpack to, and I would love to spend a week in one. The peace, the wildlife, the scenery! What an amazing trip!
Incredible video!!!!! Love love love the music and how you at times add your voice to some content throughout the video..do that more often..wow again great video👍👍❤
Moving to Alaska in three weeks and can't wait. Worked up there for four summers back in college 11 years ago and have always wanted to move back. There's just no place like it.
I'm sooo glad to see you back, & in Alaska. Mom went every summer by cruise from Vancouver to Alaska with her friends from church. Your a professional now for sure ! Thanks for taking us along....!!!!
I discovered & followed you last year when I was preparing for my own first trip to AK. I was testing camping equipment in FL before I left, and went to a campsite you recommended on the West Coast. I drove to Denali & the Kenai Peninsula, from near Orlando. I spent a fair amount of time in British Columbia and Washington state too. 79 days cross country, 16k mi. I learned I was there during AK wet season at an unusually wet time, but hey, Alaska is still amazing. BC & WA also amazing, & had great weather there. I did a few miles on the PCT in WA. Can you say bucket list?
Too cool Kelly! It looks beautiful, I'm so envois! I have a friend here in Pennsylvania who was born in Homer and she lived there until age 5. Great video! I can't wait to see more. geek
That is an awesome trip. I lived on Kodiak Island while stationed in the USCG and really enjoyed my time in Alaska. Enjoy and as the saying goes “ once you’ve lived Alaska you will never be normal, therefore I am never here normally…”
Great video, beautiful scenery. Did I hear some Shania on the radio lol? Awesome trip. I love how your screwed up from all the daylight hehe. I would be too!
So rain, cloudy, cool and better have rain gear on or close by but the sun will pop out every so often ... all fits in with the typical theme in that area of Alaska from the bit I experienced and a friend who was in that area years later. One thing seems to be missing but I expect they will find you soon enough, the Alaskan Air Force, also known as Mosquitoes 😆. The Kenai river is sure a nice color with the minerals that it would contain, similar to the waters all through the Banff to Jasper National Parks in Alberta/BC
Thank you for the James free video… I’ve forgotten how beautiful you are as I haven’t seen one in a long time.. I have a friend who’s in Alaska now for 2 months.. he and his son flew there in his Super Cub.. all the way from Maine…say the word and I bet he’d take you for a ride.. looking forward to the next video… stay free
Hey Kelly, you rock love what you do. If you’re still in Homer, there’s a Bar where Jewel would sing at when she was young with her dad. Maybe you’re too young to know who Jewel is lol. If you get near Talkeetna at the foothills of Denali mountain, that was my favorite little town it’s where the hikers take off and come down off the mountain :-) Keep pressing forward girl :-)
Wow, it's so great you got to go to Alaska. It is so scenic and beautiful. Thanks for the video and I can't wait for next one. Did you have this planned or did it just happen? Stay well and be safe.
Wow, What a coincidence! I found this video on my thread right after my family (from Arkansas, btw) had just finished hanging out at Beluga Point during our first day in Anchorage. (And my wife got a picture of me in that same place as that thumbnail, haha)
What a beautiful place and vacation. So, I realize there are privacy concerns, but who are the people you are with? Friends? Family? Fellow hikers? And I wouldn't even ask but you normally introduce the people you hike with. There was a younger guy on the plane I assumed you were with but didn't see again. Did you stay at the red cabin for only a night and then move to the coastal home of Ms. Karen? Is she a bed and breakfast host or someone you know? The views and scenery are amazing but the story is cool as well. Thank you for sharing.
I’m with my friends Stephanie and Kaitlyn. Should of introduced them but forgot. Young kid I met during the layover People I’m staying at are some of Kaitlyn’s family/friends
@@chrissaunders8284 to be completely honest I wasn’t sure who all these people were either I was just along for the ride and knew about as much as you did when watching 😂
@@kellyhays23 I think that would be good opportunity to have a chance to stick around up there for a while and see more ( at another point in time ) if you were able to get a contract up there. I am guessing an over the summer contract unless you like snow and cold ... and .... more snow and cold ! LOL. Actually from what I understand its not all that bad in the southern part of Alaska by Anchorage or south during the winter, its heading north or north east of there is where the real cold happens.
Kelly you have stepped up your production quality so much. Nice use of music, voiceovers and drone footage. Keep crushing it!
Thank you so much!
I agree. This video is surreal and amazing.
