My Step Mother who is 85 watched your entire CDT Trail hike same as I did, and she is 85 years old and loved it. In her younger years she rode Harleys with my dad who would be 101 now. Dad would have to start it because she was only 98 Lbs. She was a Hiker too. She still weighs 98 Lbs and is Handicapped from Livingston Texas we are all Assemblies of God. Arthritis got her but She never sold her Harley. Heck of a Step Mom.
I cannot express how much I love your videos. My Grandson is 17, loves hiking. He is learning from you. Your hair goes very well with your eyebrows. You are a beautiful natural lady!!!❤❤
Nice video. For future hikes, consider a poncho and a pocket warmer. A poncho doesn't let cold water run down your back and protects your pack too. River Country has a nice poncho/tarp for $10. You can also use it to protect your tent in heavy percipitation. The lighter fluid burning pocket warmers are warmer and last longer than the chemical hand warmers. It can help you ward off hypothermia. You can use either to dry your shoes and socks too. Easy firestarter for your little fero rod: cotton ball with a little vasoline rubbed in. I used the cotton balls from the top of aspirin bottles. Tear off a piece and direct you sparks to the fibers protruding from the torn face. Crumbled white birch bark works well too. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick
Omg😮, I didn't even know it was you!!! You are stunning no matter what color your hair is Kelly 💞. Love you gf!!! Great video. I hope you had a great thanksgiving!
Congratulations again on finishing the trail. Lot's of excellent video footage of you and your friend's. You did an excellent job explaining your gear. Enjoy your rest and relaxation before the holidays.
Great cdt series you are the real deal and pretty girly too. Great combo and good video showing the country you were hiking and it changed so much over this long trail.
NoSo patches are my jam- Tape is great in the field but when I get home I spend the money on fun patches! Thanks for the input and congrats on getting it done! I moved to Earth Runner sandals foe town/camp etc....I even hijed Katahdin in the over the summer- Looking forward to the next journey, both mine own and yours! NFA, French Fry
Super helpful! Thanks, Kelly☺️ I have the EE apex torrid (custom colors) already on order and you inspired me to buy the TumbleOn mid layer … I got it on Black Friday sale 🤗 cant wait to get them on trail & try them out! Ps. Brunette looks amazing! You’re rockin’ it!🤎🤘🏻
firstly, lovin the hair it looks great also all your clothing looked amazing and it seemed to work great for you, glad you're home and recovering and i can't wait for your next chapter (but no rush, enjoy momma and pappa hays's time)
I held back from tripping out on you until I saw the Jordan wings poster I couldn’t hold back. you are so dope! sending love your way on the travels and adventure of life✌️
Good clothing review. Definiately will check out the Tevas - camp shoes is something I've struggled with. Would love to see you put out a vlog on health, wellness and especially recovery from a long long hike like this. I've been especially wondering how you turn off the "hiker hunger". Thanks for a great update.
Loved watching you CDT Vidios. Seems like a lifetime ago when you Came thru Angel's Rest whem I worked there. You inspired me . think it's time to earn my Tripple crown/ Starting to plan for a SOBO next year.
Those FarPointe Alpha Direct hoodies are amazing to me. I used one on the Ouachita Trail. I've got my wife using one for extended day hikes in the fall here now too. When you feel how light they are and the holes, you would never guess how warm they are and how good they are at shedding moisture and excess heat. Incredible. If you have a rain jacket, why carry the wind breaker too? I get the need for rain gear, and even though that windbreaker is 1/2 an ounce, it's still extra. Seems like you could put your rain gear on to protect from the wind when you're losing heat too quickly with your other layers. I still like the plain old poncho for rain protection. I can throw it on over the top of my pack and it breathes better than any jacket. Cheap too. Those Mayfly sandals are corrugated plastic. I tried them. Too slick for my liking. I use Xero sandals for camp.
@@rungavagairun rain gear is way too hot to hike in for long periods of time. You end up sweating it out. That’s why I wind jacket is awesome bc it blocks wind but it’s not too warm and you can manage sweat and moisture much better
Wow, your hair is looking good! I along with others,no doubt, have missed tagging along w/your CDT adventure! Any thought of hiking the Great Wall of China, at 13k mi. in length, that would keep you busy for nearly two years, lol. 😊
Almost didn't recognize you, love, love the color. Always enjoy and learn so much from your your trail knowledge, but especially your gear updates. This time, I was all about the mid layers. Well done as always. 👏👏👏 thanks for taking the time.
Thank you for this video, Kelly! How did you find the sizing on the alpha direct pants? I've thought about getting some but I'm wondering about the unisex description - I have hips, lol.
You are so pretty everyone comments are on looks. But you are an amazing woman full of strength, passion, outdoor smarts, and a fantastic teacher as well. Your fortitude and reaching your goals are extraordinary. Big congratulations 🎉🍾🎈 Champion #1 🏆🥇🏅
That orange hybrid mid layer from TumbleOn looks great and I love the hybrid design idea BUT how's the durability? It looks like there a massive split on the shoulder (along the seam?). That's a worry if it's already falling apart after only New Mexico.
@@Michael_Ian_Blackface I hiked 700 miles in that thing through lots of crazy stuff and never had an issue the rip was my fault and happened at the house lol it’s an easy fix
Your hair looks great! Love it dark.
It’s beautiful dark.

Great job love ya lady❤!
Great hair
what watch did you wear on your thru?
Yes, looking to know the brand, too! Thanks Kelly!
Not mad at the see through pants lol😅
Hi! Have you ever considered xero z trail sandals for town and camp shoes? They’re lighter than Tevas and comfy.
Yes actually I have! Thanks for the reminder! Might actually ask for those for Christmas now!!

What are the thumb holes for? 😂
I have several shirts with them, and I gotta tell ya. I feel pretty dang dense cause
I just don't know 😬😅
They helped protect the tops of my hands from the sun
Something’s is different. 🤨 Must be the lighting. 😜
How do your CDT midlayers compare with your alpaca midlayer you wore on AT? So sad AGC went out of business.
They are so much lighter than what I had on the AT!
