    I started doing this during lockdown , I've dabbled a little but now over 60k a year and I'm 100% thinking of giving up work now. On a normal week can turn over £800 on my Sunday sales but then at xmas that can shoot up to £2k without even trying.

    I take my hat off to you for doing it full time. I couldnt do what you do.... I could not deal with the hassle of Ebay buyers en masse. The returns. The refunds. The parcels going missing.... You must get so much rubbish to deal with. How do you not pull your hair out? My experience of Ebay is all buyers want items for nothing and dont care.

    • @JammyDodgerFlips

      Sorry for the late reply, but thank you for the comment! It’s definitely stressful at times, but still beats the 9-5. Nothing comes easy in business, years of learning what to sell, how to sell it, it all comes quite natural after some time and you get into the flow.
      But yes, still some buyers out there that like to try and ruin your day no matter what 😆

      Yes, it can be extremely difficult, especially as you get zero help from ebay and their policies acutually encourage scammers. We have our own site now and get literally NONE of the problems we had with ebay. No fake "missing" or "damaged" item claims, no forced free returns, no system that automatically sides with the scammers and so on. If you don't encourage people to play the system they won't but ebay don't care because it's not their money.

      Why are people worried. Literally minus what you paid from what you sold it for. Do this for all items you have your gross profit.
      Deduct your packaging supplies, fuel, and postage costs. There you have it your profit for the period.
      Pay your relevant tax and live your life.

    • @Mullamoves26
      @Mullamoves26 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    • @gssf.gr29
      @gssf.gr29 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@User123-r1hCorrect, in most cases you won't have much tax to pay; nothing until you are making over £12k a year BUT do remember, you still have to put a tax return in even if you don't have anything to pay. VAT is the tricky one, you soon find yourself getting close to the VAT limit and then you pay 20% on everything you sell. It's a nightmare if you're not paying VAT on what you buy in.

      @@WelcomeToLunaI disagree as buyers will often mark you down if you overcharge on what they think you should be charging and also if someone was to charge me £3.95 postage, but send it for £2.00 I wouldn’t be very pleased either - I make about 10p on my postage, just to cover a bit of bubble wrap and tape etc - I use empty shoeboxes for packaging and also mailers.

    Telling everyone you are buying items from Vinted and selling on eBay will surely have an effect on your sales in the long term.
    As Vinted popularity grows prices will also increase as most buyers will start going direct to them, which will mean you have more buyers competing with you, and this will reduce your profit on ebay as you will be paying more for items on Vinted.

      I used to buy all my stock from Vinted. Unfortunately the prices have gone up noticeably in the last 2-3 months and quite often people want eBay money on there. I’ve gone from spending about £10k a month on there on average, to about £500 as it just isn’t worth it unless you are on it 24/7

    Selling on ebay is trash! Having to deal with returns means you lose money paying to ship item and to ship back. Dont forget the irs new threshold is $600 not 20k anymore so have fun paying taxes on all youre sales and you will need to prove how much was profit or end up paying tax on the full amount for every item you sell. Then ebay fees are now 15% for most sellers please!!!

    You won't be making profits, off car boots, THIS year, pally-wal. All the ebay resellers that had to leave, due to HMRC are, like myself PRIMED & READY for the car boots and let me tell YOU, matey, the LOW PRICES days, are OVER! Why? because WE ex-ebayers, KNOW the prices and you will NOT be making HUGE profits at OUR expense, this year. PLUS, i will be telling every car-booter i can, about the HUGE profits, you are making at THEIR expense. Just a polite, heads-up. The SALAD DAYS of RESELLING, are OVER! This season you will PAY THROUGH THE NOSE, for your stuff.

Also how dare we make money selling your stuff on eBay? What for actually advertising it, packing it posting it, dealing with headache customers then doing correct accounting and paying taxes. God forbid you make a profit for doing all that.
