- This episode is the first to feature the famous hall closet gag. Here, the whole episode is framed around the mess in the closet. Over time, though, the writers and crew became more creative and selective about how they used the gag.
Gracie Allen also stops by as part of her "Gracie for President" promotion, and is delightful, as always.

I was telling my wife about Fibber McGee's closet and found you on TH-cam. She loved it! Thanks for posting for us all to enjoy.
I grew up listening to Fibber McGee and Mollie.... considering i was born 37 years after this aired, it just proves this show was and is still a winner 77 years later. Seventy-seven years? Crazy! This episode was one of my absolute favorites!
Nice to hear again! These are relics! So glad you posted these! Thank you!
Thank you for uploading all of these shows. It's greatly appreciated.
I love old radio shows. This is wonderful!
I was watching The Walton's, grandma asked grandpa isn't time to put Fibber McGee and Molly on? SO I DID, thanks to TH-cam we get to listen to America in the 40's
My Dad played this particular episode over and over cause he had it on tape. So it's my favorite one, though I've listened to many since then.
"Will be completely anna-hilly-ated."
"MCGEE - who'd you dance that one with?!"
When I was growing up in the 1960's & 70's, my Aunt and Uncle in Pittsburgh had a closet where they stored all types of odds and ends, and they called it the "The Fibber McGee closet." I LOVE old radio comedy shows, and this one brings back special memories of my favorite relatives.
I'm in my glory right now :) I love old time radio, and have been listening since I was a kid...around the early-mid eighties. My most favorite is Fibber McGee & Molly, and I plan to listen to every one of your uploads of them :)
Tina Buck I use to listen to this as a kid as well. I either listened to this or The Lone Ranger
Thank you for uploading these! Before my time but I love listening to them!

Love that closet gag!
"He isn't home, hes working on the senseless "! Hahaha
I've never listened before, but I heard them on an episode of Suspense, so I will try it. I love Burns and Allen.
It’s so good!!
This caught my attention because my dad used to call me Fibber McGee. I never knew that it was a radio show.
Closet opened at 4:08.
Anna-hilly-ated lmao
As heard on NBC's Tuesday night schedule at 9:30pm(et).
I watched an episode of the President Show and I ended up here
listening to the whole Campaign again this election year. Better than the news!
Love the surprise guest!
Is there anyone who actually remembers listening to it live?
Yes I remember it well along with lots of others, like the Del Rio TX (actually broadcasting from Mexico to avoid US limits on Power output) station blasting out 100,000 watts and heard all over the USA. We started TV in 1954 but before then all we had was Radio. Lots of other ones I remember like the Inner Sanctum, Louisiana Hayride, and many others.
1:10 - Sounds like the period when Spike Jones was doing drums with Billy Mills.
hHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
And how about that song by the kingsmen...!? Capusalem?!
I have tried to find the Kingsmen on TH-cam, there is not really much. Wish their Christmas shopping song was there. I just love that one.
I wonder: Did Marion Jordan do all the female voices on the radio show?
She did Tin-nee but other female voices such as Mrs Uppington were other actresses
for along time I thought Teeny and the older girl that sounds like Marjorie from Gildersleeve were the same person.
Good episode, but thankfully, there's no NBC chimes at the end, that should avoid the scare factor of how the NBC chimes will not play after the show to avoid by kids being scared after listening to this episode.
What are you talking about, may I ask? First, your statement doesn't make sense. Second, the reason that the chimes are missing is probably because they are not included in this copy.
I wish their TV show was as successful as Burns and Allen.
Neither Jim or Marion were involved in the TV show.
