I grew up listening to these shows and more. Radio is better than TV. Your imagination shows you the scenes. I have many of these and Gildersleeve on CD, also Amos 'n Andy. Many others that were so entertaining and clean comedy, hard to find now.
I agree... Definitely better times... Coming out of the depression, pre-WW2... Pre inflation, when an average wage allowed a person to pay all the bills.. Even in a single income family home... I would much rather have been a part of their generatoon than the modern one.... The thought of kneeling to the flag would have never crossed a single Americans mind in those days... That alone makes it better times
